Some of the pics you posted are of weapons from a much more famous MMO...

 

that's not the issue, DSO is literally built by copying more famour MMOs

This proposal will perhaps happen with trasmogrification aka substituting item's appearence with the appearence of other items

 

I don't quite like the idea of transmog because, and this is purely subjective, it's just weird if item A looks like item B. Buuut if items, mainly many armor items, got a design overhaul, I'd find it cool. What's more pressing than visuals, though, is the issue with items or sets being very outdated attribute-wise.

 

Yes, but copying a concept and copy/paste an item (or whatever) are two different things

 

i agree, it's more difficult to screw up when copying an item than copying a concept

But i think BP is more than apt to the challenge, they'll probably be able to screw up copypasting an item
