So when playing Drakensang in my laptop the CPU usage is huge, what causes to it overheat.

Here's how I solved it by using a program that "throttles CPU-hungry application(s) when asked".

1- Download "BES – Battle Encoder Shirasé" from here:
    http://mion.faireal.net/BES/#download
I've chosen version 1.7.7. The program is portable. Just extract it to a folder.

2 - Run Drakensang. Then, go to the folder to where you extracted the program and run "BES.exe" as administrator (right-click, "Run as Administrator").

3 - Click the "Target" button. You'll be presented with something similar to task manager. Sort by CPU so that you can easily find "dro_client.exe". Click the "Limit this" button.

At the bottom you can select how much "quieter" you want it to be. I leave it as it is (-33%), but you can test with it to see how far you can go without causing the game to lag.

4 - Click the "Close" button. Minimize the next window (BES will stay active in the notification area).

By using this method I was able to reduce my laptop CPU temperature while playing DSO from more than 80°C (176 °F) to a bit more than 60°C (140 °F), without any noticeable performance loss.

It is totally safe, it wouldnt be on softpedia otherwise.

Also, there is no malicious software stupid enough to open a keylogger when it starts, close it when it stops, and even alert the user showing it in Task Manager ;) Furthermore, my TM shows nothing suspicious.

Most certainly values will vary according many different factors, so don't take this as something absolute. Just test it and adjust it yourself (if you want or need to use it, of coarse).

The thing is that even having my laptop cooling system clean, fresh thermal paste, and even a usb cooling pad underneath, it still overheated when playing this game. I have found this program and it helped, so I thought about sharing. I think that this will be particularly useful for laptop owners (laptops cooling generally is not as good as in desktops, and overheat reduces a lot a laptop life span).

Important note: Obviously, this doesn't replace a proper internal cleaning. If your laptop overheats in different occasions (and not only when playing DSO - if that's even your case), you should take it to a computer technician for internal cleaning and changing thermal paste.

Have you set graphic settings in DSO to minimum values?

Yes, doesn't make much (if any) difference and it looks very bad.

Shadows and screen resolution have more impact than the textures.
