There is another ironic part of the mass gem crafting. Gem crafting is the best way to maximize gold rewards from the general daily challenge when you get a craft x number of items. So I have kept most of my flawed and splintered to use for this.

This reduction in gem drops is to get players to pay for premium.

During the 3 day Christmas deluxe premium I was getting 5 to 7 gems out of every 50 cubes. With only farming bosses it was easy to get 100 cubes per hour.

Maybe I was just incredibly lucky during that freemium, but without it I am lucky to see more than a small handful of gems per day.

    some feedback about the gems

they are for sure droping less mainly flawed gems, before the patch like others were sayin every couple days i was having to craft a stack of them and now? not even close

however it seems like the droprate of higher quality gems has been increased, i have been getting some polished gems and am getting splintered and simple gems alot more now even had so far 1 radient gem drop

regarding the t8 from my previous post i was not aware of the random crafting to get a tier 8 weapon, i did that and it worked so thanks!

For me it seems like they kept the higher quality gems the same and nerfed the low quality, so it may feel that way.

perhaps you should have bothered to inform yourself about PVP before coming here to complain, since this was discussed for months

That's just the thing... there is no % damage anymore.

So, to inform you, since you won't inform yourself:

In an effort to "balance" PvP, the developers stripped away all the benefits from wisdom, gems, runes, enchantments, set bonuses, and unique values. Now, the only thing that matters is the items' base stats. Now, the "best" PvP gear is T8 items with gold base lines. Also, 2H is dead in PvP because the damage increase is not enough to offset the defensive loss. You are getting annihilated because there are people who have already built PvP specific gear that would be absolutely worthless in PvE, but in PvP, it is about as good as it gets... let me give you an example:
This item is perfect for PvP. It was crafted from a Magic T8 pair of boots and a two gold line pair of T4 boots that dropped. Being an Exo item, it is inexpensive to upgrade compared to a legendary or unique instead of wasting a ton of glyphs.

Build an entire collection of these such items, and then you will be much more competitive in PvP in this new era.

Personally, I still can't stand PvP, and only do it when I have clovers, but I figure that if I'm going to play, I may as well win as much as I can.

as time goes on im seeing a potential problem, it seems you wanted gold to have value but now as i am very close to 4/4 on all my items i am not crafting anymore just looking for the platinum or whatever they are called lines and i am slolwy buying all the available mounts/emotes/costumes/pets

so when i get all of them and max my wisdom runes from the premium shop/drops and am not crafting much what is there to spend it on besides buffs...? need some more consumable items to spend gold on for it to have value

what point is there in crafting the buffs? its easyer to just buy them no need to go farm the ingrediants because the bottles and stuff cost too much gold why cant we make them as well, there is sand maps we could harvest for making glass...

a last note for anyone reading: even tho there is not much reason to pick the herbs and stuff in dungeons do take them! you will need eventually for making better royal gems especially the ores

Everything you say is very true, personally go through the same phase of the game after the patch.
I have everything crafted with 4\4 gold and some 2\2 gold and platinum.
The game is now very easy and you don't need better crafting than this.
Crafting buffs is unnecessary, costing more than direct buying and the time lost for farmer plants is much higher than direct gold farming.
I already have all the pets and the majority to everything that is sold through the city.
So, soon we will have a lot of gold and we will not have what to spend it on.
All materi farm will become useless when we will have the majority of items at tier 8.
Already me and my guild farm very easy on the infernal 4 without buffs, the buffs are only for the fast farmer or events.
At this rate the game has a few months and it will become unpopulated.
When most players will have crafting and items at tier 8 or 7, the players will get bored and we will have no purpose in the game.
For what to do the same boring maps when you have a surplus of resources?
I believe that within 4 months we will start the big migration to other games.
I say four months for the weakest lvl 55 player to get all crafted and t7 or t8 items.

Just be careful what you wish for...

We must wait for the coming releases... I wouldnt bw surprised if we get changes that will allow the bored full farmed cubicals to farm a little longer. Over and over again and again, and again and ag....

Im not into these 1-2 months nerfings....

The bottles could be dropped from the chests on the maps, so they would give something else too, not only copper...

The #1 problem with this game today is that it lacks any long term vision. r185 was supposed to be that but that was trashed and the game keeps getting redesigned each year.

I'm guessing personnel changes in the dev shop have something to do with that. Also, reactionary changes to enhance the bottom line profits.

After playing with the update for a while, now I am at a point to give my feedback:

    The Good:

    1. Infernal IV dungeons are fun. Yes, they are the same thing but more difficult. Nevertheless, they are more challenging and thus is more fun to play.
    2. Tier-8 Equipment drops. This is an awesome idea. It keeps the loot interesting and we have more upgrades to do. Keeps people busy.
    3. Platinum lines. Great idea. They are difficult to find and also difficult to craft. Keeps people busy and lots of work to be done to get the best equipment.
    4. Increased melt value of Magic, Extraordinary and Legendary items. A welcome change. However, I think perhaps Melt value of Extraordinary items are a tad bit higher than necessary since now there are more Exo item drops than before.
    5. Increased gold value of all items. This is great. We feel like we are making good amount of gold. But, was it really necessary to increase the value and prices of all? I feel like DSO has a heavy inflation problem.
    6. Coin drops. It is fun to see silver and gold drops. Specially those shiny gold drops.
    7. Availability of buffs. These are great. But, I wonder some of the buffs are of real no value. For example, the damage buff and critical damage buffs seems too weak compared to the others.
    8. Pet upgrades. Awesome.
    9. Introduction of Infernal 1-3 World dungeons. These are great ways to farm easy higher level content.
    10. Improved and Magic gems - Awesome. More ways to upgrade your character. Work to do.
    11. New essences - Awesome update to white and green essences.
    12. Bigger essence drops and Purple essence drops - I like the infrequent drops of purple essences also like the bigger 3-4k of essence drops once in a while.
    13. Reduction of Materi prices for weapons - Great change. We can buy more of items and chose the best.
    14. Reduction of Draken prices for Witch gear - Love it! Love the ability to buy the set for a third of the previous price.
    15. Removal of Circus direct passes after event - I think this is good in general but was somewhat unfair to new players as the old players have farmed a lot of Draken this way.
    16. Gem stack crafting. Makes this not tedious.
    17. Core bag. Saves up space.
    18. Combining all PW Core types into one type. Awesome. Now we don't need to farm a single boss.
    19. Ability to buy Augment Cores with Materi. Awesome. Previously it was too expensive and we had to use precious Draken to buy them.
    20. Reduced Draken cost for certain runes. This is a welcome change.
    21. Sellable pets/costumes. As we find duplicates, now we can make a bit of coin instead of deleting them.
    22. Ability to use Materi and Wisdom runes in multiple equipment.
    23. Confirmation dialog at the exit of a dungeon. Now we don't accidentally exit from a dungeon.

    The Bad:

    1. Cube prices - I feel like Cubes should bring more value in gold. Now it does not make sense to sell Cubes for their gold value.
    2. Increased Materi prices for direct passes - Not so good. I like the idea of jumping direct to farm some cores when needed, so the price increase is not welcome.
    3. Leaderboard gold rewards - staying still the same 250/500/1500 does not make sense anymore. It should be increased.
    4. Crafting price increase - Not happy. If you wanted to increase the cost for making platinum equipment, then You could have applied code to check if any one of the ingredient pieces have a platinum line, then increase the cost for the craft. But for normal gold crafts, the prices should be low.
    5. Random legendary dropped equipment having many gold lines - Not happy. This makes it a random drop. Only some people, the lucky ones will get what they are looking for. And the others would not get the drops, and the crafting is super expensive and so it is worse than how it was before. Before the update I was crafting 1 or 2 pieces of 4x gold lines equipment that I need every week and after the update I couldn't find any good legendary drops and was only able to craft a single piece for 4 weeks now.
    6. Huge difference between World dungeon and PW dungeon bosses. I can kill any world dungeon Infernal 3 boss in 20 secs or less without avoiding any attacks, but it takes 1-2 minutes for me to take down a PW dungeon Infernal 1 boss and also I have to avoid some of its strong attacks.
    7. I don't like the too much randomness in new lairs. The rewards should be consistent depending on the level of the dungeon and not very random.
    8. Lair goblins are imbalanced for various classes - Who can kill the fastest - the class with the highest DPS - the steam mechanicus players get the best rewards, while the class with the lowest DPS - the Dragon Knights get the lowest rewards from the Goblins. Very unfair.
    9. Monster circles. These are now the same. Previously these circles represented the element the leader is using which helped us to plan our attacks/strategy. Now we have to wait till it does its first attack to figure out what type of leader we are fighting. Not cool.
    10. Lockpick chests now do not have guaranteed essences. Not cool

why do you keep pushing sm so much with every realase they keep getting stronger and stronger , now with r214 they are by far most poerfull class in both pwe and pvp, mages are now weakest by far we have no good dmg skills for pvp fireball was nerferd both in range and in dmg , frozen spehere is way to slow and other skill almost usless , pvp was never balanced but at least we stood some chance now after r214 is only fun for one class and one class only

I've actually put in some time since R214 was released so here is my good / bad list.

    Good:

    1. The extra storage bags. This was needed. Could have been better, but at least it is a start.

    2. The selling of pets/mounts/costumes for gold.

    3. The extra difficulties in the regular maps.

    4. Pet upgrades. Neat idea.

    5. Going back to the original look of gems. This is much better.

    6. Better gop/sell prices. Long overdue in my opinion.

    7. Lower materi prices for buying items.

    8. Allowing realm frags for boss dungeons.

    9. Adding chests to the maps.

    10. All the extra crafting benches, with the added ability to craft everything at any table.

    Bad:

    1. The raised price for boss dungeons (materi)

    2. The reduction in gem drops. Without premium, gem drops are just plain rare.

    3. Taking wisdom drops away from bosses on normal mode (Asar/Balor specifically). This hurts new players.

    4. The extra HP/Potions. Why we need 3 different HP and 3 different potions is beyond me. Just takes up space in already limited space.

    5. The massive increase in crafting prices. Granted it is easy for old timers to gather gold (if you're gear is maxed out) but with the odds just as lousy as before, this increase in price is just wrong.

    6. The decrease in legendary gear drops.

    7. The decrease in unique gear drops.

    8. The mind numbing tediousness of farming cores and ingredients in completely different regions for the upgrades of gems / potions.

    9. Quests that don't have all the necessary information. This is an ongoing problem with DSO. If you need to do 5 things to complete a quest, put that info in the quest dialog. Just look at the stupid disaster to master quests. On step 5, you need five different quests, yet if a player opens up their dialog box, only three show up forcing you to go back to town to see what you need to do to complete the quest. That is just plain idiotic.

    10. The utter lack of enjoyable / rewarding events. Again this has been an issue for years now, but the dev's obviously don't listen or care about the constant feedback from players regarding this issue.

    11. The massive increase in prices for using gilded clovers. Sure, the cheaters are having fun with this, but for everyone else it is just a slap in the face.

    12. PVP. It's been a complete mess since R155, and this supposed gearless pvp is nowhere near any better than the 1 hit pvp. This is yet another case where the dev's tried copying an element from the popular games and did a lousy job of it because they do not understand why it works in those games.

In the end, the dev's added more mind numbing quests that really doesn't benefit the game in anyway. There is no way that I would recommend this game to someone new. How anyone new would bother to put up with the mind numbing grind and lack of inventory space to complete quests is beyond me.

Considering how long it takes to gain wisdom, get gems, get through the ignorant crafting process, build up enough gold to buy anything, farm the hundreds of millions of gops to upgrade gear, all just to avoid pvp is not a recipe for a exciting players.

I wish that just one developer would start the game like a new player would, without the inventory space, without the locker space, without all the ess, without all the good gear, without all the gems, without all the wisdom, without all the gold, without all the ander and see what it is like.

Would any DSO developer recommend this game to a friend?

My friend i suggest you stop playing mage OR considerably change your playstyle

@cdeepal i dont get your point about circus passes ? Yes old players should have smt more tahn new playes , heck they gave 4 gold lines weapons with 4x 76% as a drop now compensation for me spending 55k gold to craft mine ? sooooo ? ye here is your logic down the gutter. You dont tell your parents "its not fair i wasnt born when everything was cheaper " you just live with it ........ idk why new ppl want everything that old players have ??? isnt this the idea of spending time in a game ? to have more resources than a noob ?

i miss, think, 4 to 5 years ago we all gathered in king hill, talked old friends, and played a usually broken game, times we lost chat, we went close a month, no chat but we found groups and had fun, you all complain now, things much better now, i stay here, to be with friends, i do not spend like i used to, my char is way behind, but the 15,000 dollars i spent here made it possible for you new people to come and complain. stuff is so much easier, cheaper, if you do not like it leave.

Not really. This release is actually the first time i considered to use FS actively in other matches besides 'storm the fortress'. Before, it was just a dumb throwing fireballs and try to make the first hit. Now FB doesnt fullfill that purpose anymore i trick my opponents and hit em with FS, taking 1/3 of their hp with one blow. Even basic attacks are now viable. Just use the right combo's at the right time and pvp is easy enough for mages. The only thing i don't like is the length of matches these day. Perhaps they can make up for that by rewarding 20% more honor points?
