Well guys, i dont know about yout, but lately i feel i am not enjoying too much using forum, and i guess is not because of all great guys from arround here (moods included), but because dont feel too much that my (or others) ideas will count in any way for game (i dont have too many great ideas but there are some great players arround here with greats ideeas that i enjoy much, and i think that ideas should not be wasted, and even that ideas is not implemented soon, that ideas deserve to be stacked and maybe used lately ).

Maybe moods can do some change about this, one step may be creating a distinct locked forum (locked for players) where to show what they passed too devs, and status of that proposal.

Really, i do not expect to a democracy on forum and i appreciate the needs of good sense rules, but this forum seems to me much like a dictatorship (lots of informations are hided, not revelead) than a democracy, and i think is sad that someone can say that.

So, this is, sorry if i bothered anyone.

PS: if this will happen i think will be great even some guys will be dissaponted and will ask why their ideas was not passed, but even that ask will trigger a debate of explanations that will be good for all, and beside that, i think moods is most qualified to decide what to send and what not, but, people needs to see that they dont do useless talk on this forum, and some of their ideas is considered valuable.

Each 'mood' has signed NDA, which forbids them any kind of internal communication disclosure.
Even if we wanted to inform you what has been passed on and what not, the NDA is not allowing such actions.
On the other hand, it would also stir the forum community up and create unhealthy forum environment.
Some things are better left unsaid.

    Cheers.

On my language forum they have a public list of suggestions that have been closed and either sent or not sent, depending on the vote ratio.
That's nice, but I doubt they send it directly to the developers. The text needs translating and stuff, so I suppose it goes to the support first.

There's at least one problem with it, which is the voting. Even a stupid idea can get a lot of yes votes. But at the same time, the English forum seems to have no criteria at all, and it seems that suggestions get forwarded based on what the mods find good, and maybe they also consider the vote ratio, but we never know.

So whatever the criteria, such list would be a good thing. We will never know if the dev team read it, but we would know that it landed on their table.

I have found that errors and bugs seem to get passed along and that information is shared by the moderators when someone asks. Many times I've read that a problem or issue was sent along in the weekly/monthly report.

I would not like to see random ideas passed along. People often don't think about repercussions to anyone other than themselves. New ideas need to be balanced and not affect one type of player more than another. The shoot from the hip and make changes dev work has resulted in problems with PvP and with mass numbers of players leaving after such releases as R155.

I'd rather have an experienced moderator filter some of the ideas and only pass along the ones that have been more fully vetted.

And really... do you WANT to know that the devs blew off a fantastic idea? That would make people more angry than just wondering if they listened in the first place.

  5. Indeed. The "mood"erator team is a team of experienced players and one of our functions is filtering the data that is passed on. If every thread were passed on, every little idea, then the developer team might as well just read the entire forums themselves, rendering the "mood"erator team's efforts to compile and sort this information irreverent.

If everything we do behind the scenes was common knowledge, as Ghostmacus pointed out, there would likely be some very disappointed players. People seem to think that their ideas are are somehow intrinsically "good" ideas because it is their idea. However, any regular forum goer is familiar to just how many bad ideas pop up here on a nearly daily basis. Fortunately, we filter these sorts of things, and hopefully, most of the worst ideas never make it past the forums and to the developers.

So, to those who like to ask the asinine question of "what do the mods do other than edit our posts?", think of all the things that we do that you don't even know happen but are actually important to both the game and a positive forum experience.

You know, I wrote a big post and then realized I'd get a
    [IMG]
for life, so I'll just say this:

At least let us know which ideas you think are stupid so people don't waste time thinking about them, explaining them, and fighting over them with one another.
I am personally not going to post anything to the Creative corner anymore, because it's quite clearly a waste of time. Someone is secretly deciding which suggestions are good enough, and they don't even bother letting us know the score, and who knows if the developers even give a darn.

There are plenty of smart players who point out stupid ideas as it is... its just that snow flakes get offended when they get told their ideas are awful.

I'm sure that Marcelosmbr thought his idea was an awesome idea. It's a shame that he's completely clueless.

As YWOYD pointed out, people think their ideas are good ideas because they are their ideas... they're going to fight anyway.
And most unfortunately, you'll never win an argument with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.

    EDIT:
As I was typing, he proved my point.

Personally, it helps me sleep a little easier at night knowing that the mods are out there and are hopefully smart enough to filter out things like this.

I readed carefully al posts, and i want to thank you all for your attention. If some NDA specifically forbidden to reveal this info, seems there is nothing to do.

I really hope that maybe in some ideal PW world this info is revealed :).

    Good luck.

Being a mod on a forum is not a pleasant task most of the time. Just fighting the constant spam can feel like a 2nd job.

Sure it would be nice if we knew which ideas were being sent to the dev team, but even if we did know, that doesn't help very much.

Years of broken promises regarding new features, new characters, etc. leads only to more frustration.

Back when they started the community manager thing, at least they would come onto the forum pretty regularly and tell us that DSO "was listening" to players. I'm sure some players believed that in the beginning, but by the time Haruki finished her term as the CM, most of us knew better.

It seems that after Haruki, they pretty much gave up on the idea of pretending to care about what the players think. Yeah, I know that they hired a couple of CM's afterward, but they were/are never around.

Just look at all the "official" feedback threads and try to find the things that were implemented versus all the things that have been completely ignored.

On top of that, the dev team doesn't always implement things correctly. More often than not, the dev team searches for certain aspects of the popular games and then they try to find a way to implement that into DSO without any consideration as to why those popular games have that feature in their game.

I agree one hundred percent with you @Rhysingstar Yes, devs have a difficult task, and i alway said that i really aprreciate their work arround here.

If game was great i think nobody cared what is sent and what is not to dev team, but nowdays seems to me that game is not very fun anymore, even PVE is much more easy than before, but overall, for end-game players, this game becamed an endless grind, not much fun. And i really hate PVP nowdays .

Well to be fair, if I was a developer, I wouldn't read any player made suggestions, because I would feel entitled to know better. The game would be exclusively my and my dev team's vision. You too didn't like teachers in school telling you how to "fix" your amazing picture you'd just drawn.

So I changed my vote to "don't care too much". Creative Corner is pointless and apparently has always been. Better get back to ranting about bad drop, boring events, and imbalanced classes :p

No. Devs usually are a team with different skills, and always shoud be one or more specialists in the area who is developed (gaming in our case) that tells programers what to develop, so creative ideas is mandatory for improving game, but seems BP already have a lot of their own ideas.

I'm one of those people who make quite a number of suggestions in the Creative Corner section. I don't think it makes a difference knowing whether or not an idea got passed on by the mod team - I only care if it is implemented in the game or not, that's what really matters. :D
