What a mess on forum, too many languages, why ? I used to read forum but nowdays is just amess like the game is. Why dont create subforums for each language?

Well I most certainly agree with that.
But actually there is a part in the forum to put all those "other languages" posts.

I hope everyone will post there messages in the designated language section.

    Greetings!

We are sorry you are unhappy with this decision, but the international sections have been introduced to the forum this week due to the individual language forums closing down soon. More details can be found in this announcement. Of course, the rest of the forum will continue being used in English and the foreign languages will be used only in their designated areas.
    Cheers,

It is well sorted and it isn't a problem:
but i think that @faith_no_more meant that reading new/recent posts is a mess :
As we saw above, they exist but query for new/recent posts is grouping all posts, from all languages, and it IS a "problem".

I hope that you'll soon regroup it so other languages appears just on clicking their own link.

Reading recent posts is a mess. What would be nice is a way or a button that would allow a user to see recent posts in the language of their choice - can that be done?

Recent/new post function is pretty stupid right now, you have to go through several pages to find posts you can actually read. And where is the greek forum ???

    Hello Heroes,

I understand your complaint and I have escalated it to the team, but I have to be the bearer of bad news and inform you that it is not possible to filter out the international sections posts from the New posts / Recent posts features.

What I can recommend instead is to watch the forums you are interested in, and un-watch the other language sections, and go through the alerts you get for the areas of the forum you are interested in. It's not ideal, I know, but I hope it helps a little.

As for a Greek section, @Zardast , it appears that it is not planned at the moment - but I've forwarded the mention / request to the team. If the demand will be high, you might see it introduced in the future. A Bulgarian section was introduced just the other day.

I hope you will all continue to enjoy the forum despite this inconvenience.
    Best regards,

"you" can't get the nationality of each members and adapt the html page of 'new posts' with PHP or something like that ?

    Hello vegetadavid,

"I" am a former programmer and web developer so of course, from a technical point of view, I cannot tell you that it is impossible to have this done - even with add-ons that would allow certain sections to be ignored - but they will not be integrated into the forum. Drakensang Online is not the first Bigpoint game forum to introduce multiple language sections in the EN Forum, and the Forum team will not proceed with such settings. All registered users fall into the same category, there are no different groups / roles, therefore ... the workaround is watching the sections you are interested in, and instead of seeing the new posts under the dedicated New posts / Recent posts - you can check your Alerts for new posts / threads. It works like a charm with just a little bit of trouble and some clicking that has to be done just once ;) .
    Best regards,
    teddy.bear

I am not a programmer, but i work somehow in the same area as analyst and usually i tell to my programmers coleagues what to do (develop), because my programmers coleagues do not understand as good as me bussiness rules of our field and need someone like me to tell them what do, even they hate me most of time because they said i am acting like a boss (still they are better paid :)) ). Also i check the "crap" they developed and i aprove or tell them is not ok :) and to work harder again.

My ideea is very simple (hope that not too stupid), even i have no clue about web developement and possible workarounds, just add some language selection before logging on forum similary when logging to game, create subforums for each language, and redirect each user to the appropiate subforum based on his language selection.

My advice (soory if i am wrong) is to stop force your (BP) clients, players, to accept your technical solutions, this will never hapen, but to work harder to develop what comunity players ask. This game is pretty dead in my opinion exactly because of this attitude, developers developed crazy things even community opinion was pretty clear against, community oppinions seems that doesnt matters too much.

Programmers need to be slaped at the ass sometimes by someone :), at my office i am that person in my projects with my colegues programmers, hopefully you have some person too (i doubt).

I used to love this game, played long time, nowdays i am just reading forum to see maybe i will return to game sometime, but nowdays forum is as i said, kind of mess, and need to be fixed somewhow.

Sorry if i upset someone, but i speked from my heart and with desire that good things will happen.

    Cheers.

This is how things are at the moment - there are dedicated forums for different languages, and players are redirected to that language forum based on the language used to play in game. If that language forum was shut down already in the past, users are redirected automatically to the English forum. But as explained in this statement, that is exactly what is being changed - international language sections have been introduced and the individual forums will be shut down soon. Your suggestions is pretty much reverting what is about to be implemented, which is not going to happen :( ...

You did not upset anyone and your feedback is appreciated, as well as the time put into expressing your concerns - and I apologise for insisting, but the suggested workaround does help. We should keep in mind that the situation is tougher for the other language moderator teams and communities, who will have their forums removed soon, with all the content and activity developed over the years - so we (the English community) are the lucky ones, so I am sorry if accommodating the other international sections is so much of an inconvenience, but we count on your understanding and support.

    Cheers,

    They are already in subforums.
You can just press the "mark forums read" button and from that moment on you can just read the new posts/threads only. Whenever you see a yellow marked section or a bolded subsection just open it and read the new thread/post.
I have never used the "new posts' button ... ever.
Forums are not for reading ... you can read announcements, books or magazines :p
forums are meant to be used for discussions and sharing opinions.

As we already agreed here - language sections exists here and they are fine nested there (international Section)
Logging in is not a real problem with this issue because this forum can be watched without logging in (that's where Recent Posts came from instead New Posts ).
Here is the problem - we don't know which permissions forum teams have/had for this forum software (As @teddy.bear said this isn't only BP's forum).
Problem could be solved by SQL query editing so that new post could be find by WHERE clause (currently all posts are in the same pile) if and only if "new post" is related with "language" in that manner that's able to filter posts.
Also ... You have never use a client :p
You know that I know that You know ... so, leave the forum romanum aside :D

    Code:
    r/w/x
That reading, without permissions to write/execute (guests).

I consider my self a casual player (at the moment) and when I visit the forum I want to be able to check only the latest posts with an easy and quick way and this way is simply by checking the "new posts". It used to be 3 to 4 pages per week (when I check the forum weekly) and now is about double. This IS an issue for me.

Also, in my humble opinion (please correct me if you believe I am wrong) it is very time-consuming to visit each forum section in order to see if there is a new post or no. It is also very time consuming to open and close all the non-English posts just to remove them from the "new posts".

I would like a solution to this issue (as soon as possible) and many people share good ideas on how it can be done. Lastly, I would also like to see a Greek section inside this forum (yes, I read above that this is not in the plans, I am just expressing my wish).

    Thanks! :)

    Hello Chandler333,

We understand it's an inconvenience, but this is not going to be changed - the advice was not to check every section every time, but to replace the 'new posts' feature with the alerts. You only have to go once through all the EN forum sections and sub-forums you are interested in (all, or just some of them) and select to Watch the forum:

    1. Open every sub-forum you are interested in, and press Watch Forum in the top right corner. If you don't want to miss anything, do this for all the forum sub-sections:

    watch.png

    2. After pressing "Watch Forum", the following window will appear. Select "New messages" to get alerts for every new post, and the notifications to be sent as "Alerts":

    watch2.png
    3. When you visit the forum again, you can disregard the New posts / Recent posts options and just press your Alerts button in the upper right corner - all the new posts and threads from the sections you chose to watch will be listed there:

    alerts.png

As previously stated, we know it's not ideal, but it's a workaround that will take a couple of minutes of your time, once, and will allow you to catch up with the forum the same way you used to read it before, by using a different button though :) .
    Cheers,

Hi. I'm from Spain, and let me tell to all of you i'm sorry we have invaded your forum.

To go on, I write here cos in spanish forum the moderators blamed us the spanish forum is about to be closed cos we didn't participate in it, but it's not true. All people, like me, feared to post in it cos each time you did it you were banned with sanctions with no reason in most of the cases. Just because you annoyed them it's a reason to be sanctioned. I though that once here we went to lose the track of the sanish ones and have new moderators but it seems that the spanish ones are still following us.

I understand other languages like greek for instance decide to close the forum if nobody writes in it, but spanish is a useful language and sure there were lot of spanish speakers more than in other languages so it makes no mean the spanish one must be closed. I complained about the way the moderators were treating to us to support but they didn't heed to me, so i decided not to write in there anymore, but for one message trying to know how to log in this one...

Talking about that, in the spanish one i had more than 500 messages and now it seems i have to start from cero again losing all my "likes" i had gathered, and i would like to know if it's gonna be this way or once the spanish one close all the information of there is gonna past here.

Sorry for my english and thanks to all the forum, members and moderators, for adopting to us.

    Greeting and good drop.

Welcome to the English forum, @Lambrusco :) ! You have not invaded our forum - this decision came from above, and we must make the best of it. An official statement has been released both in the English and Spanish forum (well, in all the other languages as well), and as you know, the Spanish forum is not the only one in this situation. There is no way back however, all forums apart from the English and German ones will be closed, and once this happens, none of the information and activity available there will be available anymore, I am really sorry. Useful information is being manually copies by moderator teams and users, so if you have helpful guides / sheets / info you wish to transfer from the old forum to the new Spanish section, you should do that as soon as possible :( .

I hope you will continue enjoying the forum and I am sorry I cannot bring you better news.

    Best regards,
    teddy.bear

    That's a lot of posts, @MENTOL !

It might not comfort you much, but here's a small idea (I hope this won't backfire somehow ...): you can take a screenshot of your activity / likes from the forum, and post it in the EN forum :) ! You can create a thread under your dedicated section where your fellow-forumers can share the same.

Many of the moderators and forum users remember when years ago we've all gone through losing the content from the old platform... so we know how it feels.

    Cheers,

Fisrt of all, @MENTOL, thanks for your answer but i have not enough points to be there, just, let me check again... 510 messages, 153 likes and with 550 it's supose i get to expert or knowledgeable person in the forum, but that's the name in spanish, so you figure it out in english...

About your answer @teddy.bear thanks to you too, but thinking of it better, after having seen your reception, i belive i'm gonna leave it this way, starting again with new thrills, waiting for what the future awaits me... and making me eager for stepping in this forum.

    Greetings again, and good drop...
