the best thing about this event is that:
    a) during quarantine
    b) in 3 weeks
    TWO HUNDRED characters were eligible.

    TWO HUNDRED
characters got from caracter creation to lv 55 in THREE WEEKS on FOUR DIFFERENT SERVERS.

Can you imagine how LOW this number is? This means there is no new players flowing in and then they say "we have data and our numbers look exceptional!" on stream. :D:D:D:D:D

Yeah the number is outstandingly low. Back in days it was around 1-1,2k new 55 lvl per month. Here you have 1/4 - 1/5 of that with an event on top at quarantine time. It's enough for us to cut down any purchases and we are forcing dev change in very short time :D
They obviously lie on stream as numbers have to be terrible for them. I hope they will have to sell DSO.

maybe I'm wrong but you are forgetting that these 200 characters are those who completed the challenge, not those who started, and I doubt new players (some ok, but not all) that don't know the game could reach lvl55 in so low time: I needed few months, surely I wasn't in a hurry and I know you can reach lvl55 in one week (a friend of mine did it in 5 days) but who cares to be so fast? only veterans, not newbies that are interested in the storyline, and all veterans were doing spring event or farming in the new infernal modes to improve their equipment, so…

I'm not defending them: I only say that you can't use this number to say that there aren't new players: this is evident if you start a new char and you meet almost only people with a 55 char or others that came back after a long break.

Most people are hitting 55 lvl in around 1,5 week + they knew they may be beneficial if they do so in certain amount of time. Hitting 55 in few months is really abnormal :p In other words at least half of normal monthly newcomers should be in raffle - best time also indicates that as most of veterans would hit that 55 faster than winner. I know that prior to Chinese dev number of new 55 lvl characters per month was usually in that range I have posted with that dev I have no insights on any stats though. However here you have event + quarantine. Add 2+2 and make some basic calculations. It's super low number.

Sometimes I appreciate your input and advice, but fairly often your bias as a long-time end-game player clouds your view. 1.5 weeks is normal? How many hours a day do you think a "normal" gamer plays? There are many dead spots in the progression in which there are no quests available and a player has to grind killing basic mobs to level up 1 to 3 levels. Even skipping ahead to dungeons several levels above your toon's experience doesn't provide much experience boost, and typically area-bosses are too powerful to survive until your toon is at least max for that area. Each level in those dead spots can take 3, 4, 5, even more hours to grind. And the drop rate of some major questlines is atrocious, setting the player back X more hours.

Of course, you came up in the day when it wasn't too difficult to find a group to carry you at the max difficulty level in PWs, so low-level toons could scoop up or buy gear which was much, much more powerful than they could garner on their own. That path isn't open to most new players, or even current players; and drop rates for PW uniques are pitiful, and the end of boss battle vendors were shut down a long time ago. So we grind up slowly with crap gear that gets discarded every few levels.

Most people can't live the game non-top for 10 days straight. Be realistic in your estimates.

Well I played the leveling-event and joined a guild with mostly new players trying to level, except for me, only 1 other made it to lvl55 till this day. They level pretty fast till around 40-45 and then it slows down. So to say ''most people hit 55 in 1-2 weeks'' is just bs.
Someone with experience in this game, yes....but not for new players.

I do think tho, that DSO doesnt get as many new players as they say on stream....

    You absolutely missed the point.

First of all: characters are created on a daily basis. Not just when the event starts. Event, in fact, might've increased the character created during the same period of time without the event.
Secondly: 200 characters managed to reach lv 55 from character creation.
Thirdly: only 200 characters were eligible and that includes "veteran" players that made one just to participate

200 characters reaching lv 55 during 3 WEEKS period is laughable - it simply implies ALMOST NOBODY new is playing the game.
200 characters per 3 weeks is literally less than TEN CHARACTERS A DAY REACHING LV 55.

There is no way you can say these numbers are anywhere close bad. They are simply terrible.
Please realize we're talking about QUARANTINE NUMBERS. Where alot of people were locked in their houses. This is not a standard period where people work normally. Alot of the people were (and still are) working from home as well.

And only 200 characters made it to lv 55 during quarantine time where much more people had much more time to actually play the game (if they wanted). Imagine the numbers without the quarantine.

200 characters were eligible that means 200 characters levelled from 0-55 in the three weeks (or however long level rally was active) that doesn't mean only 200 characters reached lvl 55 in those weeks. Thousands of characters might have reached lvl55 but not have been eligible. So really we have no idea of the true number of characters reaching lvl 55 every day. I would argue that completely new players would take longer to reach lvl 55, so the 200 number is more likely 200 characters of people who have played for a long time and thus know how to level up faster

Back in days was 1k minimum every month now we don't know it, at least i don't know as chinese dev doesn't share any ingame stats.
I have no idea how even new player can take more than 3 weeks to lvl up. Really... i'm super lazy in terms of lvling and even i did made it earlier in slightly over 1 week. There are guys who pulled it off in less than 3 days. I understand newcomers won't manage that but 1,5 week is totally viable for them.

Disagree. You hitting 40 in 3 days even as newbie. If you trying to sell me you can't lvl up 15 levels in next week so 2 lvls per day i'm just not buying it.

I'm soooooo lazy that if even I say sth is easily doable it's really joke to argue :D:D I could be easily contender for God of Laziness.

That's a good one :D. You are not talking of average players but square-eyed-grinders.
Average Player plays more than just drakensang, thus plays drakensang Not necessary ever day and 1-3 hours a day, maybe in several Session, including ingamechat, reading regiochat, looking for groups, reading quests and several more.
Such a Player will never reach lvl55 in 1.5 weeks, nor 3 weeks.
You surely live in your own reality :D

If somebody plays mmo like dso for average 2h/d then they are the bottom of "casual players" group. These people are irrelevant to the statistics.

If you cant reach lv 55 in a 3 weeks period DURING QUARANTINE you wont be able to finish a single ingame event and so the game is clearly not for you as events are the only content DSO has to offer for years now.

Youre not only lazy, but also lack some braincells i guess. Just cus you can do something, doesnt mean others can or will do so. Some of the people in guild i mentioned in earlier post, only play 1-2 hrs max. They do 1 or 2 quests and do something else with their lives...they're not in a hurry to get lvl55.

Also like i mentioned; I did play the event and put in quite some hours a day (prolly around 6 average) and still took 9 days.

So knowing that, judging your numbers can only mean you dont sleep (or barely) and play the game as if your life depends on it.

You really think that new players knew about that event? Im pretty sure not many did, so assuming those 200 are in any relation with new players, is simply wrong. Now, sure we all know this game doesnt get many new players anymore, but still those numbers of this level-event say nothing about it.

You literally just debunked your own theory a sentence before.

First you say that new players werent really participating in the event because they didnt knew (and that 3 weeks is not enough for newbie which is plain wrong, its not enough for turbocasual which you mention) and then you say that these numbers prove nothing.

If during 3 weeks only 200 chars were eligible and then on top of that you said that majority of them are endgame players hungry for deluxe then you just proved yourself that there is no new players. You can reach lv 55 in a day (my time was 22h when i was powerleveling my mage) and you tell me people cant squeeze (triple the time) 66h of gameplay in 3 weeks and call them players? 66h / 3 weeks is 3h a day, and once again i repeat DURING QUARANTINE WHERE PEOPLE HAVE MUCH MORE FREE TIME (if that didnt sink in yet). Whoever plays drakensang for 1-2h will fall off the second they hit lv 43 wall and then whoever actually got to 47-48 will hit another wall. Then if ANYBODY OF THESE made it past that 2nd wall and made it to 55 in 2 months or whatever (LOL) then they will leave the second they get to try the "magnificent" event clown fiesta and how they are unable to even scratch progress bars.

There is NO new players coming and you see that in cardhun as this is the endgame location (and you play with / see the same names all the time). Kingshill is full of newbies since its in lv 10-25 range - you literally get there by max 30m (while reading every quest probably) including tutorial.

I play average even less than 2h/d and i managed to level a toon within 2 weeks w/o help and w/o and consumables
+ im able to finish in game events ever since i started to play raksha... it´s not about time yet about efficiency

Average DSO player back in days when I had insight to stats played around 2h 20 min a day. Every day. So I grinded that 55 lvl as slightly above avg player with around 3h/day playtime for a ten days. And it was lazy casual play, I wasn't fully effective in exping. Grinders can reach 55 in 3 days like Mao who did it in 16 hours or Raksha who did it in 22 hours. As Raksha said if you can't even make 55 lvl in 3 weeks this game isn't for you. 2h/day is really minimum what you need to spent for any prospects with your char in reasonable amount of time. Similar with events.

Quite the essay, yet you miss my point completely and you keep japping about unrelated numbers:\

I got allot more to do than playing games during quarantine, pretty sure im not alone in this.....so if it ''didnt sink in yet'', maybe you need to make your life more interesting.

But just to say it again; these event numbers have ZERO correlation to amount of new-players. And if you want to keep believing it is, well so be it.

If you think that 200 characters STARTING their real DSO journey (cause reaching lv 55 is just the first, smallest milestone) during 3 weeks for an online MMO (not so massive huh?) is ok then sure. I cant really wrap my head around how somebody can say that 200 characters reaching max level in almost a month (which means there's less than 200 new players in a month since some of these chracters were made by already playing people and some mightve made multiple characters as well) is even remotely close to acceptable.

But you do you - not like I can get to you if you refuse to think :D

Yeah, the amounts of new players storming the Cardhun ... insane :D

Remember: 5g will fry us, covid spreads because of it and Earth is flat!
