Can we obtain items of higher level than our character's level?
If yes, then to me, the new tier-less system might be a step towards some sort of horizontal progression in the sense that you're no longer required to rush to the max level in order to start doing some meaningful character building. Which would be pretty cool. (I don't mean no promotion of pvp twinks or anything like that.)

We are now discussing, once things are done, the expansion, in the test server, could come out at any time.

I wish the mistakes of the past (like the tank) didn't repeat themselves, from my point of view it would be a big step forward.

Honestly, it will be a new game, but that was also when the lv 50 expansion minus the lv55 expansion came out. If you are not an alpha test and may not have a clear idea until 2-3 months of play, everything that has been shared is small.

We could also try, the expansion and do some clarity thanks to the TS, when it's available, maybe it's not that bad. There will be something fun if they have worked longer than necessary except for the usual intentions of making money but someone has to pay them or nobody plays!

Yea that guy on twitch lied with his fiedel & fidelness nonsense. When he said the cap would not exceed 75. If he lied about that what else they lying about? Can't believe any of the crap they put out so far.

    --- MERGED ---

Wrong,,, Facebook post says level 100. Guy on twitch lied with his fidelis & fidelisness nonsense.

    What about Zeal OTI? :p

No seriously ... last time I checked absolute values were real numbers and relative were %.

if so .... it seems clear to me that you have not checked for quite some time :D:D

in case Phyrix's assumptions - that we will get equipment of the higher level the higher their current tier - will be correct, then the answer can only be yes.

Anyway, "obtain" is different than "use". Even if I don't think they'll convert gear to level 70 or more, and then force us to keep it in inventory until we've leveled fifteen or more levels.

I'm sorry but it isn't as you say...I agree that they lied to us many times but this is not the case.
what they say is only that level cap would not be 75, they don't say more then 75 or less then 75, only no 75 level cap
    this:

new max level cap is 75? no...and stop.
    this is not true

As you already know, I also had the same memory of cigarbennett (however wrong it may be). Now I have no doubt that they told the truth - in their own way - but it certainly could have been said differently and above all more clearly.

Perhaps those who follow their twitches have the clearest vision, I do not doubt it, and I am certainly not among them.

    trak,

I actually get this one. When you point to your damage there are 3 lines, base, absolute, and relative. The the math for the #oti items goes into the "absolute" part of the 3. It's not that the "effect" is absolute (+number) or relative (%number), but where in the overall math.

After the CE, since no runes will be on an "item" there will no longer be %<something>oti. Just %<something>.

*shrugs* Not sure why I got it, but what is evident is that the way things in the game are labeled sometimes leads to incorrect implies.

Surely they could have been more clear about the argument, but they don't lie in that twitch.
When I base my argument on memories, I am not so sure and definitive (and you know it's true); I'm ready to defend my positions only when I have data, solid data that I share with everyone.
I think they were vague on purpose, to increase the "hype" for the CE, and someone surely became confused from their behavior.

    No.
How you calculate damage (or anything else) is defined by formulas. Leave formulas and equations aside.
Here is a simple explanation I found on the net:

    Absolute
Absolute numbers or values are the real/precise numbers.
For example 3 apples or 573 inhabitants.

    Relative
Relative numbers or values are dependent on other numbers.
In other words, they are relative to other (absolute) numbers.
Most often, those other absolute numbers are not even given.
For example 2 in 5 cars drive too fast on a road.
You still do not know the precise number of cars that drove too fast.
    Percentages and fractions are relative
With percentages and fractions, you do not know the precise number, only which part.
So in the example above you could have used 40% or 25 of the cars.

    https://www.dr-aart.nl/Statistics-absolute-and-relative.html

Now ... absolute values are same for everyone.
If we both have 250 damage on any item (no other damage modifier on the item) it increases the damage by 250 on that item for both of us.
However ... relative value is not same for you and me even if we have same % modifier.
20% increased HP on my 1500 HP value is not same with 20% on your 1100 HP value.
No mater if 20% on this item or 20% overall ... it is a relative value in both cases.
And the new % value (just % <something>) is still a relative modifier.

absolute values is predicted by a numerical value then enhanced by itself for example a weapon have 1430 damage and 450 in gems and then having an absolute multiplier such as 360% on this item and thus boosting the absolute value of the given item + ofc the numerical numbers from items such as torso gloves etc
then that is further boosted by a relative modifier which is known as % increase from other items and wisdom as in this case % increased damage
and if you mouse over your damage it will give you both your absolute total and relative increase of that absolute total
And this is exactly why the relative conversion of many runes could be OP if utilized correctly
plus they will be getting a next tier too.
    and this is exactly it
weapon 1430+450+360% = 8648 <- an exact number which then ofc gets multiplied as the dragan set is multiplicative in nature
    8646*1.32 = 11239.8
    then base damage 500 and 1300 from items = 500+1300+11239.8 = 13039

You also have to bear in mind that the percentage increase in this case is a percentage increased of an exact value and therefore the exact value can remain to be calculated as a whole.
Thus known as an absolute modifier
After which there is a variable amount of percentage increases, such as wisdom, essences, etc

with this I agree and this is what the runes will become.

You have to bear in mind though that not all absolute values is the same values absolute are only absolute in the instance of your build
you pointed to % increased hp
But you are well aware that I as a dk have higher base hp from my absolute standpoint as well as the bloodrune weapon has a higher base absolute speed value as in comparison to for example q4 weapon.
therefore absolute is only absolute in the specific case or instance of an object and never a global absolute.

He said "it won't be lvl60 and it won't be lvl75". No? He didn't say it would be between those, even if many people interpreted it that way.

Honestly I was predicting they would go at least lvl100, or maybe even lvl150, as soon as I saw the new skilltrees.

Fun fact: They're implementing "player feedback" by putting the cap at lvl100. With the last expansion many people said "why not put lvl100 already and be done with expansions for a time?". Truth is, there's no difference what the new lvl cap is going to be, since with the previous expansions we had to redo our equipment anyways. Honestly, the lvl cap could stay the same and we could be forced to redo the equipment by making some large changes to the system anyways.

    Well not only player feedback
The whole skill tree has its own passives too, these passives will probably be class specific, whats nice is, every skill has 10 levels
and then they have passives boosting them, yes we will have high % dps skills and how they work could be boosted immensely.
All in all I find the system good, we will be crafting a lot more, but it will be a lot easier too, I am curious what they are planning with the pvp.
    But time will tell...

Dude no one asked if you agree or not.
Those are math rules and if you don't like it you are free to create your own math :D
Read what I said in my previous comment and that is the final answer ... which is not a subject to any debate. :p
See how ridiculous is your rant:
at the end damage would ALWAYS have an absolute value ... then why even mentioning relative values in the first place.
Bonuses on runes are relative ... except those two mentioned above.
Yeah "player's feedback" ... i know what it really means XD

well inconsiderate of the math and yes you are right, they just call it an absolute modifier because it modifies absolute values.

But I will tell you on fb what the concept behind ce is so you can better understand

what do we know so far? practically nothing, as usual. If they had done something good, they would have advertised this new expansion and instead absolute void if not some useless news given in months of twitch. Even this forum is left to itself and the moderators don't know what to say. Everything is silent and we know what it means right?
Remember the previous ? new crafting,% drop higher, ect ect , they nerfed our characters, after years of hard work, they ruined all the events, they increased the costs in gold to do anything, introduced dozens of useless things: cores, entry keys to do anything. Potions, elixirs, medicines, ahahahha OMG !! Recipes, crops of plants and elements that no one in their right mind would do ... and finally the cancellation of the pvp, a strong blow that made thousands of users abandon the game. after several promises made over the years, never realized. I could go further, but we know how it will go and above all we remember at least us old school, how Big acts.
I do not expect anything good, they are trying to adapt the old game to the mmorgs on the market, copying here and there, the ideas of others and the result will be the usual story, do it all again without any fun or gain from the users who will suffer the usual choices by the company
