Dark Legacy CE - How to prepare

Everyone keeps talking about very advanced characters. About grinding blue gems into thousands of dust, about buying dozens, if not hundreds of wisdom runes, etc. All these actions are good for old, heavy farmers who have excessive amounts of everything.

What I also kinda wanted to know is how a relatively new character should prepare. A character that has some T1-2 uniques + some T5-6 pinks that they got from e.g. Castle Rawencaw quest chests. A character that can't solo anything above Fatal and can't kill a boss above say Excruciating. Such character probably has merely a few runes, not very big gems, pretty much no jewels. Maybe he has a few hundred of low tier cubes from bonus code premium.

Here's what I think. If you are a weak character as described, you might want to keep your scarce higher tier equipment. Maybe keep your low tier uniques too, whichever they are - uniques got reworked and they might come in handy, no? Your higher tier pinks or legends, lets say they are T6, well they will be level 67 in the new CE, so that might help, I reckon. So, in my view, a weak, relatively new character should probably do nothing at all.

 

They can... reset their wisdom tree. XD



^ PS That's not even the cost of resetting the entire tree, just one chunk of it.

Ok but how is it with inflation? Is it easier to get gold in DL? Pre-DL pinks sold for what, 4 gold or something? How about now?
Also, I assume higher level items sell for more. How much more?

Anyway, seems like it's a good idea to reset it now.

 

At level 100, I have random green items selling for 10g. It is just very dependent on whether or not you get gold or plat base values/enchants on them. After a round of crafting, I can easily make items that sell for over 1000g apiece.

However, keep in mind drop rates are lowered as a result of making drop quality much higher. Overall, the "feel" I get from playing is that it is easier to get gold so long as you focus on selling stuff.

However, the reason you should still reset your wisdom tree the night before is because... you probably do not have 3k, 5k, 20k gold sitting around right now. You've already spent it all on potions, buffs, and wisdom runes. And your setup pre-CE will not work post-CE due to how many more points you can shove into very important things like Resources.

I mean... players are already quitting... the only hope is if BP rolls back the changes.
