Help with Mage after big update

Hi guys, i haven't played for a very long time and since the Dark Legacy update i can't figure out a strategy to get better. I'm currently focusing on leveling up. What advice would you give to improve damage and attack and movement speed? What sets should i work on?
I also try to craft gems but i can't get much shiny dust... Any advices on that too? I've tried to read in the forum, looked youtube videos but still can't manage to find a way to improve.

Normally I would have recommended you to submit your build to my build reviews live stream, but the next one isn't for half a month. xD

Anyways, ice-based build is the way to go for Spellweavers. This video is already getting a bit dated after a few patches, but the key points are still there. Since you don't have the Master of Ice talent unlocked, you can do without, it's not going to hurt you anyways.


Since you don't have tons of wisdom, you have a few choices of where to dump your points, and I would suggest crit for the majority, with a small amount distributed into 1h attack speed if it allows you to cross an attack speed break point.

As for your group talent points, start by maxing out the left side category first in mana/crit or even ice res. The ones in the middle and right category can come later.

As well, if you haven't, make sure you do your crafting quests along the way, because they'll be key to getting stronger.
