    Crafting
    1. Ingredients are simplified, no longer regionalized; all areas can drop:
      • Plant Sap from worthy mobs; used in:
        • All 3 types of Resource potions
        • Tonic, Simple Physics, Advanced Physics
          • Resource buffs
      • Leaf from worthy mobs; used in:
        • All 3 types of HP potions
        • Tonic, Simple Physics, Advanced Physics
          • HP, Block, Fire resistance buffs
Gnawed Bone from guardians through sentinels; used in:
      • Lasting & Reformative HP & Resource potions
      • Simple & Advanced Physics
        • HP, Resource, Block, Fire resistance buffs
    • Jerky from guardians through sentinels; used in:
      • Tonics, Advanced Physics
        • HP, Resource, Block, Fire resistance buffs

    • Cursed Blood from guardians through sentinels; used in:
      • Elixirs
      • Some Simple & Advanced Physics? (my toon doesn't have all recipes)
    • Ore from worthy mobs; doesn't appear to have a use
    • Yarn from worthy mobs (or unraveling cloaks); cloak crafting
    1. Containers are much cheaper; e.g., 10gold for a single bottle (Common quality) .... but ingredient quantity requirements are much higher (20 Leaves and 5 units of Cursed Blood to craft a single Vigorous Health Potion; 50 Leaves + 38 pieces of Jerky to craft a single Advanced Physic of Vitality)
    2. Multitool apparently now drop as part of the repeatable crafting quests reward loot; one per quest (I haven't tested one of those quests, yet)
    3. Bosses (Natural World, Real World, and Event?) drop unique cloak crafting items
    4. Gem crafting is more awkward than before; if you drop a gem on the workbench, it only gives you the option to grind it to dust, not to upgrade it; to upgrade, you have to open the workbench and choose the appropriate gem type or drop Shiny Dust (from the Unique Ingredients tab in your Special Bag) first to bring up the list of all craftatble gems
Dragan and Spring Festival Events are both running at the moment, which may be interfering with the basic ingredient drop rates.

I don't know what else is being added / refined / removed.

(Apologies for the list formatting ... I find this editor rather quirky.)

    ADDENDUM:

... Looks like drop rates on ingredients are a mixed bag: Still low on basic mob drops (Leaves, Plant Sap), but decent on Guardian+ (3x or 5x per drop of Gnawed Bone, Jerky, Cursed Blood, with ~25% to 30% of loot containing one of these 3 ingredients).

Better news: I was dropping Wisdom regularly from Guardian+, more like 50% of the time. Farming (playing in general) might be worthwhile again in r248.

I haven't had time to put all the footage and notes I collected together quite yet, but I can say there is a usage for Ores now. It's used in the new equipment creation crafting system.

Edit: I have organized my few hours of thoughts into a short video covering what I saw.

I know my video went through it pretty quickly, but basically the crafting ingredient quality only affects enchantments right now. I've read on the official Discord server that base stats won't be affected by ingredient quality until r249. So I guess if you wanted a catch, it'd be that.

it was enough only to increase the drop of everything and the problem was solved, instead they continue to propose false and complicated solutions. the long and disastrous descent of this game continues

Regarding broken Multitools, there's a new crafting quest, A New Discovery, offered by crafting master Roxana in urban area Jarlshofn ... which becomes a side quest (but [MINOR DISPLAY BUG] is colored yellow like main quests in the Journal). You'll eventually discover the Glowing Cave, which has an entrance fee of 50 Broken Multitools. This leads to earning a new recipe to repair Multitools at a 5:1 ratio. I'm not entirely certain of the process; the Cave is still there, but I don't have enough Broken Multitools to research further (there's some kind of NPC which is willing to swap 5 Multitools for ... ?).

Also, (pitifully small amounts of) Multitools are now a possible daily challenge reward.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

On live server, I average ~1 ore drop per map (maybe I'm playing the wrong maps?). Meaning: I need to clear 25 maps just to complete the lowest level of Daily Challenge. Let's see if drop frequency increases. As it stands, I rarely complete Daily Challenges as the rewards they deliver don't justify (by a factor of 10) the amount of time required to complete them.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Daily Challenges that specifically ask for Plant Sap count both Plant Sap and Leaf drops toward that goal.

Yeah, I finally found the quest that leads to the Glowing Cave. I haven't set foot inside it yet because it's so pricey I only have enough Broken Multitools for one run - figured I'd save it for my usual Sunday live stream. Speaking of Broken Multitools, I only get them from hitting Ores now, not from hitting Plants. The logic behind this one is just hilarious... rocks break tools, plants make 'em disappear. :D:D:D

That's funny, I'll have to check out the daily thing when I have time. xD

    Good news tidbits:

    1. I can confirm that Runes drop even on Painful difficulty mode in scaling dungeons
    2. Escape skills now free you from stuns (why did it take 3 months to fix this?)

The wait for r248 should be winding down, but still curiosity makes me ask a couple of questions to the guys on TS:

    • scrolling through your videos on youtube, I saw there is the possibility of creating "old" uniques/set items (at least, judging by their names) such as the Kingshill set and Rotating Gear (lev 45 unique for SM) which realistically will be updated to the current system of stats and enchantments. Is there a way to preview what these items will give, or is it to be hoped that BigPoint is magnanimous with the documentation in the patchnote?

    • the cloaks I see in the post-r248 workbench list, seem to me all already existing in game, so how can the new ones be crafted? Which and how many ingredients will be required from bosses? Again, any clue about enchantments and effects of these cloaks?
    Thanks in advance.

The Kingshill items appear to be tied to an event not currently running, so I have no means of farming the recipe to check. As for "Rotating Gear"... the thought of needing to melt Destructor 34 times just so I can get the achievement to see the item is a bit of a turn off. :p If I'm bored and have nothing else to do, I'll consider it.

So far it looks like they've only brought cloaks that previously existed back into the game.

Each boss will have their own ingredient. Eg. Sigris PW+Normal share the same Sigris icicles, but that would be different from Bearach's paw. You need 100 of a certain rarity of a boss ingredient to craft.

At what level will the items be produced?
If out of 100 it will be another joke... wasted time of the creators ...

Oooh, insted to me it seems such an exciting pastime

    Lol. Useful, really.

Wherever a pw ring is required, its level contributes to define the level of the created item. Wherever it isn't... I suppose the resulting level would be defined only by the "generic equipment" level.

... I should be glad it's only 34 because I have a Jewel of the Ingredient Hunter upgraded to +2. If I didn't, it's 100 runs and I'd probably cry at the thought of doing 100 runs with my 70k dmg noobass SW.

Just an FYI, the version on the TS I was playing yesterday for a live stream has some differences from that infographic plastered all over social media. The 4th slot for PW rings has no impact on the level of the final product. It was entirely dependent on the 3rd slot generic item.

Considering they're planning the update for this week, I'm going to say with high probability the infographic is wrong and the version I played on the Test Server is the intended version. (Could always be wrong, ofc. :p)

Noobish question: which jewel is this and where did you get it from?

Ahh so pw rings would act as simple gapfiller. Good to know, maybe people can farm them easily in low modes so.

It's a new Jewel, you obtain it from a new map called Glowing Cave. I have a guide upcoming that'll cover this topic. :) But if you're in a rush to check it out, you can see it in my last live stream.

Edit: The guide is now complete. Here it is.

I will certainly take a look but I am always tight on timing and I can rarely handle viewing large streams. Anyway thanks :p

Congratulations, 248 and the cities are still empty, it is not seen that there are interested players, so it is more of the same. Either they fix what really bothers the game or we go down from 5 crazy cats to 4, to 3 ... until there are none left.
