Hey everyone, r249 hit the TS this week. I was pretty busy this week so didn't get around to seeing it for a few days, but here it is.

    In summary:
    • Infernal frags now sold for multiple currencies
    • TP cage price drop + available for gold
    • new shiny things - decorative effects
    • other shiny things - Veteran bonus
    • Q10 new uniques - gloves look good, pauldrons probably viable, rest look meh
    • bugs, bugs, bugs xD

So they remove the possibility of buying infernal fragments and then reintroduce it again( but it costs more)?
And why couldn't this feature have been in place since the "expansion"?

It's yet another attempt by BP to pretend they are the good guys.

    Good work @silverseas !!

Anyway, I'm just logging in to say my disappointment, those gloves are preety insane crazy, pure gold for MAGE and very bad for RANGERS, idk if will be good for SM or DK because i never play with them.
So dso devs hit us again with their love for mages! Nice, what i can say more..
Don't hate me guys, i don't care if you got nice items, i just want a equality for all classes not only for one...
    Cheears!

So what? some items are bad for mages and good for rangers.

Does this somehow prove that Bp loves rangers and hate mages?
is this the level of argumentation you want to stoop to?

It's the same with everything... gems, wisdom, cubes, realm frags... convenient "bugs" (Destructor "bug", Mortis nebula "bug") or missing features that are added later. First, they made people waste their inf frags when nothing dropped (no gems or wisdom), then, after players depleted their savings, they improved the drop but also gave no ability to farm those frags. All to prevent players from reaching the top where they don't need to spend money anymore. Now after 4 months they generously give us opportunity to get some fragments back, we will see how long before they nerf something again.

Q10 was promised a few years ago and I suspect all the assets were already in place way before the CE, they just stretched its addition to make people think they are doing some work on the game. And, based on what I've seen, Gorga doesn't seem to have any new abilities like other Q bosses? Probably just a buffed-up normal version...

Teleport cages for gold - well, finally something. Although it costs much more than melting pets before...

Veteran bonus - I don't qualify for anything, but the bonuses seem really underwhelming... and with the requirement of other characters on lvl 100, I probably wouldn't bother even if I did apply.

It' the nature of giving points to skills... different classes use different setup so of course they will need different things... for DKs the pauldrons seem nice, but not anything special (+10% in skill dmg). Probably not worth changing from legendary king's set. Gloves are useless, nobody uses mighty wild swing...

Actually, I know one ranger who's practically jumping for joy at the gloves and already said he's going to use it for sure, so I think for rangers it may just depend on play style.

Are you sure? That skill is more useful than you could think, especially with such gloves, paired with the correct build.

What's more important, Spike Shield takes a synergy from the MWS, therefore the gloves give a significant boost to that skill.

I agree, the gloves are extremely good for ranger, paired with the pauldrons. They will let us know for sure if it is possible to play efficiently enough without investing points in wolves. Next up: make the fire, ice and lightning masteries more feasible, and improve the PS.

Ah, and the pauldrons enable a poison gameplay for dwarfs and mages.

Veteran bonus is quite laughable, I totally agree that interest drops below zero once you have cap leveled the first character. I believe devs should give the highest veteran bonus to anyone who is still actively up after so many years in this defunct game: these folks really deserve it, no matter how many characters they may have in use.

Pity that both new gloves and shoulders act on skills which - remaining such, even if enhanced by 10 points - are often unused by SWs due to the lack of additional keys to which assign them (who use the mage at its top already have all the keys assigned to more necessary skills) AND the lack of skill points available for ice sphere and magic shot.

I really do not plan to renounce to Lingering Memory gloves with their +16 skill points to Hard as a rock, considering the modest/intermediate level of my gems/runes (big shoppers will certainly appreciate the Q10 gloves instead) and new shoulders are not an attractive option as well. Well different speech IF devs would have provided a talent bonus (even just +5) on frost nova ... or if they made ice sphere spammable again... but this isn't.

Too bad, again completely useless stuff, and a last missed opportunity to provide something useful to the players not willing to waste their money here.

Parallel rings is the most fun "bug" ever. They dropped regularly till r247, then suddenly their drop gone bugged with r248, coincidentally right from the moment in which it was possible to craft the unques of the Q... ahahah.

A note for non-end-game toons: Mystra is apparently entirely populated by Satyr now. Not a Cyclops in sight. Also, I didn't encounter a single non-standard mob (i.e., no Guardian [Green] level mobs or Champions [Blue]), so had to go back to the Norselands to complete the middle column Daily Challenges.

I do not argue with anyone, but the gloves from q10 give us points in thicket of thorns, this is bad in my opinion, why not precise shot or scatter shot maybe half of this points. I know the thicket of thorns are not the best skill for ranger anymore like it was before the CE(DL). :(

    I agree with silverseas
you aren't forced to use Frozen Sphere, it's important the synergy by Frost Nova that an ice mage uses
    but
    if you put 10 points = 200% damage + gloves ( 10 points) 300 % damage ;)

Ah ok I did not watch the movie, just browsed it quickly. The effect on the sinergy looks pretty fine, thanks for having pointed on it, we'll better see on practice.

Many people are using a second skill bar, including me. Most of us have at least one additional bar from an event.

I have a DK in TS, but not able to check the Q10 map.
So I have to trust what you say, and yes, it's kind of useless.
Might wild swing is one skill that according me it should be abolished now.
Before CE it was a really good skill, now it is useless and focusing on the unique value of that skill, it seems to be a "bad joke" from DSO.

I never felt comfortable with the use of multiple skillbars due the way they have implemented it.

I quote myself cause I just made some basic calc related to the foreseeable effect of synergy frost nova / frozen sphere and, also considering the mechanic of the involved skills and the synergy itself, I fear my initial supposition were right: the benefit of the new gloves would be still not such as to make them worth of use.

The evaluation could have been different in case of direct action on the frost nova, but as said this is not.

Of course I do not pretend to be right and indeed I can be denied by facts but certainly I will not waste time now to farm Gorga and to get ahead with its 100 kills.

    Interesting.

But the situation I see for my character is well far from the one you report in the pics. And which confirms, and even worsens a little, what I saw with the rudimentary calculations made this afternoon.

With 0 points on frozen sphere, white ess, no fight bonuses (545k/2 mln dmg):

With 10 points on frozen sphere, white ess, no fight bonuses (634k/2,34 mln dmg):

With 0 points on frozen sphere, white ess, fight bonuses triggered on (1,79/6,63 mln dmg):

With 10 points on frozen sphere, white ess, stats with fight bonuses (1,98/7,29 mln dmg):

Clearly there are differences, and obviously it is better to have a little more damage than a little less. But if this is to the detriment of the character's balance (and for me, who have modest runes and gems, the current gloves make a substantial difference especially when I do solo farm) then I doubt that, given the above values, the new gloves will be so worth of use. Which was my speech from the start. Besides of the fact that their benefit is given in the moment of the explosion only. And this is the other speech about the skills mechanic.

But of course I'm not here to convince anyone, everyone is free to make the choices they want.

Brief update about the Abyssal Treasure Pauldrons...

... the icons are ridiculously huge. xD But yes, it does stack with Singularity.

Problem is, I'm not sure it's worthwhile for SW class due to not having any actual skills that are poison. You only have the DoT from the master of poison to rely on, which is pretty lame. For a Ranger, it's another story.

I think you were just unlucky. I found a Cyclops Guardian with a bit of running.

I didn't use essence because I wanted to show how works the explosion damage (blue damage in the picture) and it is only influeced by Primary damage + absolute modifier.
Every monster has his own ice resistence, so I tried to hit the same monsters.

In my opinion is ridiculus how the developers forced the mage to an ice build.
Ice build is the best because the frost debuff slow down the monsters, frost explosion is applied on 50% base damage ( more if talented ) and frost wind works on skill damage.
How can compete burn debuff (1% on base damage), poison debuff(1,5%), electrified debuff(5% damage) ?

Exactly, the ring drop rate was fine until r248, when it totally coincidentally became bugged and thus ring would no longer drop from mobs in the parallel worlds.

Or how destructor was fine until hotfix 2 conveniently bugged him( what kind of hotfix breaks the game like that?) just at the right moment people were farming him, how jolly convenient.
