The soul pinata is used at the pirate ship in Grimford where you use the golden hammers. There is an entry at the back to fight Mortis. Once you have defeated him there is a choice of 2 pinata there.

I took a photo but i cannot work out how to add it from Dropbox. Clicking image and inserting the address does not work. It has been many many years since ireally used forums and chats and never used dropbox lol

 

Do not get worried about it, i found where @CiscoNetPlus talked about. Once you enter the ship there's like some kind of gold statues you can use your hammer there and there's the other exit where you fight Mortis as you said but i left it cos it's not what i'm looking for now...
