The Dragan jewel is perfect for the dwarf; it's foolish to try and play lightning with Dragan, because if you read the description it's for the heavy shot and fire build. The jewel only complements the Dragan set build. If you're going to play lightning, use the BGH Set.

I don't think they will because I think what they look at it like since we only get the opportunity once/year that people will be more likely to spend more money during that event to get it right then & who knows if they'll be around in another year to milk more money from.

It's the same with the pathetic drop rates on stuff like Spring Dust & then on top of that, still only getting junk you don't need from the eggs most of the time & don't even get me started on the paint brush. I've dropped 1 total in the last 3 events & instead of putting a guaranteed rune in the progress bar they put the useless Easter jewel or something equally useless to the majority of players. It all gets blamed on their RNG, but they control that RNG with the ridiculous rate that they set. This is why I recommend to everyone to not spend money on this game & the endless cash-grabs.

    As far as feedback goes:
    • put a rune in the progress bar so players can at least get 1/year or better yet, give us an option to choose a final reward from a list in case you have 5 runes, the Easter jewel, etc., so there's incentive to play these BORING events.
    • adjust the drop rates, especially if the drop rates from the 2nd item (eggs/miracle egg) are going to be horrendous as well.

Considering the drop, I haven't put any money in for about a year and I don't plan to until they solve the drop problem. I have 2 years and I'm still trying the pet from Dragan. I saved a lot of money with their help, I changed my PC and I'm going to buy something else besides giving them money because from what I can see, they don't want money.:p:p:p:D:D:D:D;)

With all due respect, these feedback thread and the survey form are just a procedure for DSO to tease genuine players. The company don't give a damn about your feedback and that is evident as good feedback have been ignored, so you guys are wasting your time in writing any. After a few years of perseverance, I have came to this conclusion. I am writing this not for DSO but to save your breath.

Most of the revenue come from the European servers and there are 3 major ones. The population is a few thousands in DSO. So, if you take for example one person pays $500 US for a set, times that by 10, it's $5000. This is enough to pay for the costs for running the servers for a month or so. With a few thousands, it's quite reasonable to have 100 players paying it, so that means $50,000. This is only for one set. If you include all the other items, Andermant purchases etc., it can easily mount to $100,000 and more. All the Dev have to do is to keep introducing new sets with the soul slowly at a time and selling those new slots, which is easy work. So, the Dev came up with a brilliant idea to make money for DSO without much effort. The suckers keep buying them because it's pocket money and they just want to have the best to be competitive. They are enough to keep DSO alive and profitable. In fact, DSO want the old players (15 years or so) or non P2W out of the game and most of the complaints are from these players. Freeloaders don't benefit DSO company so why should they listen to them?

Not long ago, someone said DSO always leave a way for players to earn items and boast about farming BloodChest runs on how many millions of Andermant you can earn and even wrote on forum how to do it efficiently after I warned him to keep it quiet, otherwise it's a matter of time that would be cut off too. And from this current event, look at what happened, it makes Andermants useless. The only way to get that set is by purchasing with real money. It's quite clear that will be the way for the new sets for each event to come.

The only way to stop DSO from doing this and making DSO pure P2W is by stopping those whales (100s of them in DSO) to stop buying. My advise is, each of the new sets you purchase will become obsolete or second best in a year or 2, because DSO will keep introducing them and players created this market for them. When DSO don't have customers, the market dies and they have to reconsider another direction of the game to attract players. Most whales don't read forum and the current generation adapted to spending on games as the norm. So, from this perspective it's impossible to stop DSO in going in this pure P2W direction.

You're only half telling the truth, if they want to get rid of the old ones, they raise the level from 100 to 150 and all the old ones leave because they have to put in money again to gain the advantages they have now and don't want.

I don't believe the cap level will have a huge effect on the game because it's a matter of rescaling the statistics. You may have 1000% damage for example but behind the game engine, the ratio is still the same. Mathematically, a number multiplies a ratio gives the same ratio. e.g. 1000 x 1:2 is still 1:2 after simplifying. DSO Dev is using this to boost the new sets stats and eventually balances it back with new bosses and mobs to scale is back to the same ratio. The game only works with a fair ratio of character stats vs mob stats. If this is not set then the game is imbalance. So, as these new sets make you OP, it's not the end of the story yet. We are just in the middle of a transitional phase.

Also, a new cap would not remove old players for 2 reasons: one, the ones who left due to cap 100 have already left and the ones remained will continue to remain because they adapted to how DSO work and tolerated, so any further cap changes would not affect them; and second, DSO offers upgrade options for new cap and their intention is not to keep old non paying players but to keep those old paying players. Old players who pay are treated like any paying customers and are always welcome to stay. I am referring to the non paying old players who relies on grinding to get the items and expect DSO to cater for them. For DSO they are just using up space and cause more lags on the servers because they don't benefit BP at all. They normally complaint the most. Part of the high demand for 1 million andermants for some new sets was to drain veteran players' resources and the intention is to bring them back to the state like the newbies who has demands. When their is demand then DSO will supply, hence it creates a market for them.

A lot of players blame the Dev team but in reality it's the CEO of BP who makes the call and their call is always profit first before gameplay. Also, DSO has amateur programmers and not full access of the source code, so in the past years, they can only duplicate things (shadow mobs and now shadow characters called soul). For their limited skills, I give credit for them to come up with using soul and sell sets to make profits for the company and without much work on their end. It's a brilliant idea. This allows them to keep making new sets to sell and it's an endless cycle as long as there are buyers. I called them amateur because they constantly introduce new bugs and shut down servers every time they do an update.

Here I contradict you, many have left and were paying and will leave because they were not treated correctly, they paid and received very little, just like I am experiencing, I have an old account and I used to pay, now I don't pay anymore, I am not treated differently, but even worse from what I have seen with the aim of taking more money out of my pocket, there are players who don't pay and apparently they have a blind luck to receive everything for free, I tested and it is real. There was at one point a survey for an upgrade to over 100 and it ended in failure. The heavy hitters said no and that they would go to other games. So ....

I'm already going to migrate too, I found an identical game where the vast majority of paying players here migrated,

I hear you and it's the same complaints most people talk about but the the issue is RNG - not really how you have been treated. RNG is becoming invalid as you can see because you can buy the items either with Andermants or real money. All the OP items are becoming purchasable and those RNG items in the past will become obsolete.

The cap upgrade proposal was declined because it serves no purpose, not merely from the feedback of players. One reason was what I said earlier, the rescaling doesn't make a difference in the end. All it achieves is it makes players level up for another 50 levels or so and then they have to upgrade all their items to match it; but the biggest problem is DSO Dev have to spend years to re-adjust and re-balance the game to achieve a playable ratio between character vs mobs. It took them 3-4 years to achieve that and they don't want to do it all over again, especially with an incompetent team. With the introduction of soul and new sets, it's like having 2 characters in one so it's off balance. The character side is too OP and eventually the Dev need to work on re-balancing it. Some small steps have taken place by introducing new harder bosses. Players can now kill a bs pw boss with a few shots for example.

I like to clarify my answers to your point about getting rid of old players. To be explicit, DSO does it by deterrent. e.g. the longer bars was there to deter players from grinding and buy the attire. By making these new sets with almost impossible drop rate and then offer it by purchasing it with real money deters old players from playing, because they look for a way to earn it. If you read Discord and on this forum or Steam, old players all complained the same thing and planned to leave the game. Of course, if you don't mind paying then the problem is solved and you move on. However, as I pointed out earlier, all the new sets now and is to come is a part of a sequence of money grabbing for DSO. e.g. If you paid for the Spring set and the upcoming new Sewer set, in a year's time or 2, they will become obsolete because a better one will take over; so you will be in a cycle to keep paying to keep up with these sets that makes no difference to your game play. It's a matter of killing a boss with 5 shots or 3 shots. This is like chasing the best range for your mobile phone and you can never keep up with the latest technology. The fact is, we don't need it to be the latest because it's doesn't make a difference to your life.

In their view, the need to create new sets obtainable only with real currency—rarely accessible through event gameplay—comes from the necessity of paying the developers.
As a longtime player, I complain because I was used to a different kind of game, one where the various sets could be obtained through sufficient grinding, and you would only spend real currency if you wanted to skip that grind.
I don’t think they want to drive away veteran players, but rather to eliminate that approach to the game, so they are focusing more on new players.
The question that naturally arises is: how many new players can they attract before dissatisfied players leave, creating a gap?
Will the new players be able to fill that gap?

In ways has DSO catered for new players? And in what ways has DSO worked on keeping old players happy or stay on?

Also, the gap you are referring to is not important from a business point of view. Only players who pumps money in DSO's pocket are. A wide gap has opened up as you have suggested when Dark Legacy was released and DSO is still running. They don't need players but payers.

Look at the history on all the forums as evidence and support what you claimed. I am sure a lot people would be interested to read it.

I don’t think DSO has really worked on keeping veteran players engaged. If anything, it seems like the focus has shifted toward attracting new players who are willing to spend money right away—almost like a slot-machine model.
But there’s a fundamental difference between a slot machine and an MMORPG. In a slot machine, the gratification is purely individual and comes from winning money. In an MMORPG, gratification is social: it comes from building a powerful character and showing that progress to other players, especially those who are less advanced.
If you remove or alienate long-term players, you weaken that social structure. New players don’t just need content—they need a living environment with experienced players to interact with, compete against, and look up to.
So no, I don’t think DSO can rely only on paying players to keep the game alive. Without a solid base of veteran players, the whole system risks becoming empty, regardless of how much money some players spend.
