Low lvl arena problem - scares away a new player

    First of all sorry ,haven't find Suggestions / Ideas

    People come in and go away, most of them because of low arena glyphed players.
    Friends throws drakensang gaming, because they like the arena and there is a mess.


    My opinion,

    Developers began to correct the game (lvl arena), but that's slow.
    To solve the problem (or decrease low arena glyphed players) necessary to do:


    -> Glyphed items above lvl of character - can not wear (from 40 lvl possible)

    Novice player just beat off interest in the arena and finally in game.

    Capping glyph-upgraded items to a maximum of 5 levels above your character would be one way to deal with this, people who have their gear above that could have gear levels lowered and glyphs reimbursed. Gems should also be addressed to prevent low level players from enjoying full benefits of high-grade gems until they reach an appropriate level. Nobody at level 10 needs radiant gems or gear level 40 to progress in the game, the only use for those is to bash n00bs in the arena and diminish the player base.

    That is a grate idea, realy like it. Item's more then 5 level's impossible to wear, gems from level 1 to level 20 up to Normal (Amethist, Ruby, ect) from 21 to 39 Polished, from 40+ Radiant, Flawless, Sacred. What do you think?

    I agree with the both of you, but only for PvP (arena), because i need the upgraded items for the PW, if i lose 1/3 of my firepower, it's bye bye PW.

    Well mate +5 level's gear and Polished gems are more then enough to be able to play PW on level 30 to 40, I don't see the problem.

    It's good idea, but a lot of people like me, use items 40 or high this player is 22 lvl for example. So many players wil be angry. It's have people with 5300 hp on 12 lvl.
    Crazy.

    You will be angry? What for?
    You know, there was a time when leveling up gear was only posible with andermant so ppl did not do that couse it was very expensive, but they still played arena on all levels and did just fine. Only "problem" is that you will not be a OP char untill you get cap level wich in the first place is fer, You will Not ruin our game and scare all the new players away.
    I want to meet and play with new players.

    Hi Master0fpuppets,

    Actually it's not enough, my SW lvl 31 has 390/420 base damage, 800 armor with orb and 1800 health...now if everything were to be reduced to only +5 lvl's, i would lose 1/3 of what i have now and that is a lot for SW.

    A skeleton warrior/archer only needs to hit me 3/4 times and I die, with the set that i have now.

    Also don't forget that BP has been raising the difficulty of PW, sooo...!!!
    I agree upon reducing all gear/gems for the arena, but not for PvE...
    ...unless you promise me to help me in PW, if this idea goes forward, ok!!!:)

    I am not on your server and if you want help or something done, you have to do it your self. If I made it with not leveling gear so can you, just have to try hard enough and not just take the easy way out. ;)

    A lot of people will be angry for that, more players farm hours or pay. But new players farm 1 min. play with green items and why they lose? More 45 lvl players like to play with new, cause you guys farm years, but they. :)

    Hey come on Master0fpuppets, I'm not looking for an easy way out, I have pointed that out in my 1st post...there is no need to reduce items for the PvE world!!!

    Also i like to play solo, why should i be forced to play in group for PW???

    Nice subject ;)
    Everybody it's right, but there are some ?? marks:

    1. Gems, at low-lvl, in old environment (prior to glyphs), have made the difference between p2p and f2p and there is no doubt about that.
    2. Glyphs - this is not the reason why some players are OP (pfff...there is no such thing as OP, everyone can be defeated by someone). The reason for which some are considered OP, beside using creditcard, is the same at lvl 1 or lvl 45 and that is farm, farm, farm...or better said, grind grind grind ;)
    3. Glyphs - option for f2p to compete with p2p, in general
    4. Of course everyone wants new players in the game. But a lvl 1 player, reaching let's say lvl 10 and yes, with green/blue items and playing since today wants to defeat a lvl 10 player which is having full leg items and playing since 1 month? C'monn. He will have the same feeling as a new lvl 45 player who is going now to pvp...as long as there are new players and old players in the game, a new player must work like the current old player has worked. So the game is not ruined for anyone, it's just some people seems to be lazy at farming, but still they expect to have same achievments as the rest.

    Ah...i remember when i started to play this game, there was a player on a dragon, wearing a cape and some shiny armor and i've said to myself, geeee....i want that too. (that was my goal and some lost pvp matches haven't stopped me from playing this game) And i have it, after 1 year! So new players, you will have to wait the same!

    And yes, now I also have a lvl 33 ranger which some people in this game might consider OP. And no, people are not accusing me of farming glyphs, but of using credit card :). I have some items raised to lvl 37 (1 or 2) and I want to have everything up to 40 before returning to pvp (already 4 months since i've stopped it). And this was and will still be a lot of work to do. It's my time waisted on farming those glyphs and if someone wants to match me in pvp, he/she should consider of spending some months on farming too!!

    Twink solution is easy. Leave the gems alone and glyphed gear if they have it, but kill grouping above 5 levels, restrict entry into PvE map areas to the levels they are meant to be played so a lvl 10 can't farm faster melt in Hognis or anywhere else higher. It would stop the no xp growth toon factories and PvP would eventually balance out, at least at the low levels. And all the end game lvl fame tree 40's wouldn't have to get their panties bunched up in an uproar over the tragedy of a lvl 35 fame tree 40 that they couldn't easily farm once that lvl 35 gets to 40.
    See it works both ways too. The end game fame tree 40's aren't excited about a balanced PvP as they would cry if they lost their gimme matches against lower level fame trees.
    The words "PvP Balance" and "Reality" are 2 separate things that will never meet in any time or space. Or on DSO.
    Pay or farm if you want to succeed in PvP right now.

    Hi multitoonz, BP has already taken action upon that matter, since the R121 or R122
    if a player joins a group +5 lvl, he will get 1 to 3 green items per run, doesn't matter where he goes, OoB or Darbmoor. I speak of personal experience, but I'm not doing PW for the glyphs, I just want to finish PW first to see if Ammon's quests and set is even worthy.

    Only in rare occasions do i get a blue or pink item, but i never got legendary or unique item, never...!!!

    So you see there is no need to end the no xp gain...or at least wait until i finish PW first, ok!!!:)

    Excuse my #Noobity but don't you think then it would be a little problem at PvP then. I liked the Idea of your and @spiro_spula about limiting the level cap for the gems. but here is the problem which will make the players will stop registering for battles.

    As you know the ELO system for PvP is just a joke. They only have level difference rather than the rank difference as well. BTW my Ranger is at Level 29 with Centurion rank(Fame Level 29) and I mostly get fights with level 31-33 Kotos-A'Kotos(who might have better Fame Level than mine) a 1% can make a lot of difference so.

    Now Lets suppose the suggestion is implemented:

    Player A level 30 with any fame level gets a fight with Player B level 34-35 with fame level higher than the Player A.
    Player A with his items at glyphed cap to +5 level from his items level which would be a level 35 items after the upgrade cap.
    Then there is Player B, Same glyphed cap to +5 level from his items level which will be level 39-40 item level

    and outcome would be the Player B would be at an advantage than Player A. And not to forget how much the Fame level would make difference.

    Hope you guys got what I wanted to explain :p

    We are speaking about reducing the differences not completely destroy advantages of pvp players.
    Alot of low lvl high pvp players use blank(white) items, to glyph it cost not too much.
    So they go with their high lvl friend-players to q1/m1 (Now from 30lvl, but before was a bug).
    Glyphs do not dissapear, they have this advantage 4ever, and can kill low players (those who begin enjoy) easily.
    Release 124 fixed only those knight of orders on 6-20lvl, 30 lvl flag bearers stay 4ever.

    P.s.Create a new player and check it, even buying some gems - not big advantage vs glyphed pvp players.

    and multitoonz -what means 1? spam?
