    Greg,

I just attended your recent Twitch. I was logged in for roughly 30 minutes of the 'presentation'. I was honestly shocked. Instead of using the time to engage your audience, you showed disgregard to anything occuring in the chat window. In the future, you need to have someone on your internal team monitoring the chat window and vetting questions. I realize it is hard to drive a 'demo' of live play and read the chat window but this isn't the first Twitch. Take a bit of time to reflect on the purpose of using Twitch. If it is simply to have us see your face alongside your partner CM, then simply record a YouTube video. If you wish to create an atmosphere of Community and speak with your users in Twitch, then leverage that medium fully. As it stands right now, I'm a bit irritated that you showed such disrespect for your users by ignoring their commitment in time on your Cult of Personality video presentation.

    Think it over.

    Regards,
    Tregs

I am not Greg but i can answer a part of you're post.
For the Twitch they have chatmoderators, who can answer questions etc.etc.etc.
However the chat has some time a very highspeed, so they can't answer everything.

The rest of you're post i leave for Greg; i put it through allready.

    Hey Desert Koala,

I am sorry that you have this impression of me. Thanks for the feedback - I will do my best to address the questions next time.

Usually what we do is, we have a Q&A session after the streams - but this time we had not much time left - you must know these Twitch streams are live and really uncensored;)

However i have to say - believe it or not - it is quite difficult to play the game, then explain the action that are being seen and to answer questions at the same time.

Again, i appreciate your comment and I will do my best to answer more questions next time - but please consider that Thi & I cannot cover all of the user questions:)
Also - I hope that you dont get annoyed by me talking constantly^^

fyi: ill be more present in the forums - since the gamescom and the new relase are finally out:)

Thank you CM. I know your intentions are good. I didn't intend to come off overly negative. I actually think you are doing a great job managing the bigger picture. Thank you.

I enjoy the twitch shows. This one was full of useful information about the event and they were joking and having a good time. I was entertained throughout.

Dracaty was trying to answer questions from the chat while Greg was playing. I'm not sure this is useful because there was a lot of spam and duplicate questions which don't really move the conversation forward. Maybe there is a better way but you can't say they weren't answering questions.

Ya. Perhaps Twitch doen't support what I've seen in other system. I was hoping someone would vet the questions in chat and then have the relevant/non-duplicate questions appear in an overlay near Dracaty and Greg. That would have been cool. I do agree that they covered the event map with useful information. When I give user presentations, I'm a bit spoiled. I have two developers riding shotgun and feeding me answers in a seperate messenger window. It's a group behind the scenes that makes my prod management task a lot easier.

I'm always late for the twitch live feed :(

Did they say when the event would start and how long it would last?

Could someone recap the twitch convo please?

Easier to say you had a bad day, and that's ok, nobody thinks you're a never-tiring super hero

The change of desk & chair also seemed to twist it all
So, what was the spoiler about 134 ? more bug+fixes ?

The spoiler is Greg-o-lantern is gonna learn how to play a DK lol. Just kidding man.

The desert of ess event is gonna be starting soon. They didn't give a start date thought. They also mentioned the halloween costume voting thingy and that event.

And the best part of ALL.....they mentioned Sargon

Yeah they mentioned Sargon as a wrong guess for special character appearing by the "pond". (instead of Jullov)
Like the last time they couldn't find where is Gnob located in Kingshill. :D

BTW... gamers do not use fancy social media like FB, twitch ... etc. They want information here on this forum ... this is the official information billboard ... not some social media sites.

They have made this appearance on twitch just to state that they don't know when Desert of Essences will start? Sorry but we already knew that info.
So this event would take place sometime in the future... 1-2-3 years from now... meanwhile ... there will be no events ... people are massively abandoning this game ... and at the end when some event starts ... there will be no players to play. :)

I have to concur here. I have no interest in watching that stuff, unless something actually relevant is announced. So far, I have not seen that. I'm going to stop watching these; although watching is not a very good term - skimming/scanning or "monitoring" (listening for anything useful while doing something else) is probably more appropriate. From now on, ignoring will be the correct term.

Anything that is announced on Twitch will be on the forum in a matter of minutes anyway. I have no interest in watching uninspiring game-play and listening to a lot of talking about stuff we already know, or vague hints with no actual facts. I'd rather be farming for glyphs - reading a book or watching a program - or pretty much doing anything else except wasting my time on these.

Sorry for the bluntness CMs, but this is an honest assessment of how I, personally, feel about the usefulness of these twitch things. I'm sure it's not just trakilaki and me who feel this way. Maybe other people like these things (newer players or players that don't actually play much). So, yeah, keep up the good work, I guess o_O

And after the last Twitch episode, I pointed out that some of us have bandwidth caps on our Internet service, and Twitch viewing consumes a lot of bandwidth. In technical terms, the signal-to-noise ratio is poor. If our Community Managers think that they have some good game tips, write them up and post them in a thread (I'm betting it can be covered in less than 2,000 characters).

@VMmage & @Multi-Sev : The purpose of Twitch is to announce things live and uncensored. This might seem to some a little dull or useless - to us it gives us the opportunity to share information and also to get in touch with you differently.
The purpose was to address several points, among them also Desert of Essences. You watched it and knew as first about this info. If you do not see the value and point in this share of information - well, its fine, you do not have to follow us on Twitch.

However, please remember that some fans out there actually like to see the "human" side of the company and we, the CM's also like to confirm that we actually listen to you.

Of course we could also simply share everything in the forums -
but you will always have those who prefer Twitch or those who prefer facebook.
We are trying to cover all of that;)

That's fine, cover it all --Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, whatever -- but also cover it in your official forums. Where do I find the forum thread that covers your most recent Twitch video?
