ok so I am confused, I am a level 47 SW with a Tall Myrdosch Staff at level 46 with a melt value of 800205 from previous upgrade, (just 1) in order for me to level it again I need 1,557,775 glyphs to upgrade it 1 more time, thats +14.3 Max dmg , +7.7 Min dmg, +44.6 crit hit value,, +2.4 dmg, +41.2 crit hit value and another +3.0 dmg. Now for anyone who has or hasnt upgraded equipment through glyphs, this is NOT a substantial or game changing benefit. So my question is, if buying Glyphs through the cash shop costs $5 for every 40,000 glyphs I would need to spend close to $200.00 just to upgrade my equipment 1 level. I talk about purchasing glyphs because as we all know farming glyphs takes forever and a day to accumulate. So my question is "why would I spend that exhorbent ammount of money for the measly +14 dmg , which pretty much is the deciding factor of strength, on glyphs to upgrade when I could buy a Radiant Gem which gives +16 damage for 10 times less the expense?" BTW a radiant gem would only cost $20.00 which I think is still a lil rich. Could someone please explain to me why the glyphs in the cash shop are so ASTRONOMICALLY over priced?

A normal person does not buy glyphs but he farms them.

It's the same logic as the event items, that cost a fortune.
They clearly have a person who's skroutz mcduck managing the economics.
I mean, if the cost of (everything) was logical more people would pay.
Hey there skroutz, add a 80% sale on Glyphs and see how it would turn out.

I can farm 40k glyphs in a matter of 10-15 min in Q3M1, so who in their right mind would by them. It says more about how clueless the team is when it comes to pricing than it does about anything else. Gems are a much better investment because they are easier to buy than farm.

Also, while 14 damage may not sound like much, you need to consider other factors. With my weapon enchantments, every 14 damage would be worth 14*3.35*1.8*1.73=146 damage. And that 44.6 crit would give me 69 crit which is a little less than half a percent. Never underestimate the power of % increased damage or % crit.

No body buys Glyphs. We farm them. I can farm 200-300k Glyphs per hour and I am not even a strong player.

I do not buy glyph's, trust me. and as far as farming goes, I see your point in Q3M1, but thats for people 50+. And I'm sure the 200-300k per hour is also a 50+ player as well. My point was exactly how unscrupled the pricing on various items make no sense to a person with average common sense.

    That's why:

My way of seeing it is actually very similar and simple, price vs net benefit, if it's overpriced vs the benefits obtained, it gathers dust in my in-game shop forever, that's about the only thing we, as individuals, can do to nudge them into re-thinking the pricing for some items, although if they weren't selling a single glyph of power for andermants, I'm sure as hell they would've revisited the price and the offers ages ago, but apparently, by simple logic, there's some people buying them, and we can't force people not to buy either, it's up to each individual if they want to spend their money on an indeed overpriced currency such as GoP, as for myself and a load of other people, they'll never see a single ander spent in GoP unless the price vs net benefit becomes something reasonable.

Back in the days of lv45 where glyphs were extremely hard to get...i'm sure people bought glyphs. Glyphs are priced at that level for twinks; think of it as their main target market. If you already have a toon at lv55 that is pretty strong and you want to raise that toon's honor level it is wise to invest in a twink to dominate low level pvp and get mentor bonus.
I have bought glyphs back in lv45 and for my twink. It is not uncommon. They push margins to the limits i'd say. At this current price it's not practical anymore due to the availability of mini bosses and several maps to farm from.

Nononono, if glyphs would be cheaper, this game as we all know is pay to win, and if prices would be cheaper,it brings us no chance what so ever to catch up with others. Also person that would spend like 100 a week on a game would kick everyone else around. Where is the logic in that. Sorry i disagree, they should in my opinion remove anders from the game :) since its free to play, lets make it that way. But ofc that wont happend. So yea :) like i can farm 2mil or up to 5mil glpyhs a day :) you should lvl up to 55 first and open your inventory completly.

Well, andrakarsh merchant sell uniques for 1880 anders (when there is the discount), wich can be melted into 39270 glyphs (at lv55), so maybe some crazy player would be doing this..

    Logic?

Its A trap that is the logic behind it, BP thinks some newbie(who didnt bother checking the wiki or ask others 1st) will buy it and regret it later. Just for laughs on the developer side to annoy you, and if someone do spend for it easy money. A good laugh with a full wallet.

You can also call it a Joker, you can find them in almost all the events and later your gonna learn that you dont need to buy it, because you can farm it via mob drop/ a repeatable quest, or its completely useless. Great right?

Well thats it, Maybe? nah i actually dont know or maybe some retard do buy it. Who knows, we will never understand what bp thinks anyway, just like always.

That is also because the time it takes to acquire enough glyphs to upgrade items is less than the time that it takes to level up and get access to better gear. Until you are at level cap, your time is better spent leveling up than farming glyphs.
