    Hello everyone,

I noticed that this game has a dearth of player-made guides and walk-through style content, so I have started my own YT channel covering that sort of material. I am aware that there is a CE coming and there continue to be updates to the game, so guides will be updated when time permits. If folks have videos from other YT channels that offer the same style of content, feel free to add them to this thread. (Just please, no videos bragging about stats or items or pvp wins - those are not guides!) Please keep in mind it is an English forum, so content should contain written/spoken English.

    Effective Andermagic Essence Use

The guide for how to use Andermagic Essences effectively from the Desert of Essences event in Drakensang Online with no dying. Most players regard this essence as a joke because of the damage reflection property. However, with a little creativity and a lot of group play with a Spellweaver, you can incorporate this into your daily usage. It is probably harder to incorporate this into your gameplay than even using Elixirs effectively, simply because you need to rely on someone else to help you out, but monsters beware if you do!

lmao, OMG that is to funny. Didn't take long for a power hungry MOD to want control. Cram it all together so there is no time line and it makes no sense.
These conversations are different points in time. You MOD's edit the posts and corrupt the time line make it look like a person is just rambling.

Either change you guide lines, or fix Forums format, or get rid of Forum all together. Quit cramming it all together so they don't make sense.

Just keep posting them Silverseas. I like them and so do other players.

So if the posts that have nothing to do with each other and are days/weeks apart are merged, HOW are we supposed to like the latter part without liking the previous part???

And when you "merge" them, does that reset all the likes so someone isn't "liking something" they didn't like, but MODs are then putting "words into the 'likers' mouth"???

I think in a thread like this (a series of walkthroughs of the maps), it would be beneficial to relax the policy against double posting, etc, if the separate posts are different maps.

There's a video embed limit per post. So while I'm still going to link to the videos in the first post for first-time visitors who don't wanna scroll till the end, I won't necessarily be able to embed them. Anyways, good morning King Heredur.

Good evening. I have a little tip, it will give a quick transition to another area of the video and a smoother image without losing quality. This game is not designed for 60 frames per second, but since you can edit it, you can do it 24, 25 or 29. Then your videos will display faster in the player. And they get smoothness on 24 or 25 frames due to the artificial gradient (maybe 29). If you leave 60 frames, then 30 of them are fictitious, they just crop the video grid, where 30 frames is x2. Try to make 24-25 frames and 60, and see for yourself on YouTube. As a bonus, YouTube will provide you with a higher quality image (n% less compression + anti-aliasing). All this is really on ABC1 codecs, I'm not sure on VP09.

I actually use the recommended YT upload encoding settings. However, it was not until you pointed it out that I realized I was making the videos with the wrong bitrate the whole time for the particular quality I was trying to achieve. Higher quality videos incoming next week. xD

Since I use Nvidia Shadowplay to record my video, I can change my recording FPS to 30 just by toggling the settings. The game itself looks alright. Only problem: the cursor flickers in the recording. Most people probably wouldn't even notice it, but it's going to drive me bonkers now that I noticed it. As for recording in 60fps and then deliberately decreasing it to some other fps... bah, so much work to fiddle with rendering outputs. Why not just keep it the same. I am always the kind of person who is too lazy to do unnecessary work.

A person is most comfortable playing in zones of ~ 30-180 frames per second, but for observation, 24-29 is optimal, and this is not my idea, all adaptations of marvel comics were converted to 24 fps =) In principle, it would not be so bad if the game showed 60 fps, but the maximum was ~ 24-30 fps. You are getting 60fps due to the fact that you have a 60GHz monitor, which is exactly 59-60fps (or via nvidia utility). When YouTube algorithms see 24-29 frames per second, then miraculously, each next frame has a detailed mask offset, and for this they need to save the array in the best format. It's just a life hack =)

As far as quality is concerned, there is no wrong bit rate here as quality is the bit rate. I didn't mean to confuse you. The bitrate should be as high as possible for your internet speed. The higher the Mbps setting, the better the YouTube video will be. But if you use 24-29 frames per second instead of 60 frames per second, you get additional bonuses.

Because physically 60fps is not, the game gives only ~ 24-30, the other 30 are duplicates that you get from the monitor drivers or from the nvidia utility =)

As far as I can tell, the lower framerate in videos helps to achieve what various articles call the "cinematic effect." Unfortunately, that's not what I'm looking for in my videos. If I was making a trailer, sure, I'd want that. But I'm aiming for a video where people can examine the details of the game, and look at mechanics. So the way I see it, the lowest framerate I'd ever drop it to is 30. But even that is not going to happen because of the flickering issue with the cursor.

As for the bitrate thing, that is a setting issue with my editing software. I can actually achieve a higher quality picture than what is currently being shown, but the settings needed to be tweaked since the majority of people using this software are not making gaming related videos, but probably movies and animations.

Yes, this is called cinematic, but in the case of DSO, these are standard footage. You are not lowering the frame rate because your hardware is shooting the game at 30 frames per second, and it adds another 30 frames per second, because your software is rated at 60 frames per second at least, they are just duplicates of every frame. When YouTube accepts your video, it sees 60 frames and compresses the image even more because it thinks it has enough detail. But when you crop 24-29 frames, it is more careful with the entire video array, and the outlines get less compression, giving them gradient transitions. As a result, you will get a better image than if you were uploading it at 60 frames per second.

I drew a simple example, both labels are in the same color range, but there is contour gradation in 25 frames. But DSO doesn't have 60, it has 30, so every frame is rendered at x2, no exposure gradation. At 25 frames, a different codec will be used, also ABC1, but a different version that retains sharper contours. You will get a clearer picture. The clarity is received not by the whole picture, but only by the contours, but in 60 frames the contours are also compressed, and as we remember in the DSO there are only 30 frames. You win, this is just a life hack. It will not work where the game actually gives out 60 frames or more, there you will most likely lose. But in MMO projects, 30 frames are standard, with rare exceptions. For a better understanding, watch two of my videos on YouTube, Q1 and, for example, the old inf7 dragan, you will see this clearly. And the most important thing is that I don't need to believe because I can lie, check it yourself =)

P.S By the way, this is why videos with 30 frames, but converted to 60 frames, play less smoothly and very often freeze. They just needed to get their original FPS back. There are many more nuances, in particular the transition from YouTube to you, because everyone will watch it in 60+ frames (which you changed). And yes, we're looking at 60, but it's already adapted to your hardware.

Hey dude, I am a noob when it comes to FPS so I would like to ask someone like you. I have this issue ... I was wondering ... if someone is using 240Hz monitor and recording playing sessions at 60fps, would I have difficulties watching the 60fps video on my 24Hz TV/monitor powered by ~220V/50Hz AC? And should i , as a casual viewer , be worried about Soap Opera Effect? :(

Any tips on Battleground for a dwarf? I can't rly kite that much and I can't summon minions  I usually have to rely on my rocket stun.
I did Inf3 before but it was rather hard. The tip with the meteors is gold btw, i didn't know that.

@silverseas Big thanks for the guide vids and i'm sure they will help lots of newer players too.

I think everyone will say that it won't be a problem if you ask the person who sold you the monitor. I really don't know, man. Firstly, I do not have such monitors from 24 to 240 GHz. But even if there were, my personal experience says little about sensitive topics. I think if there was a background to the problem, you would often see something like sighted HRDs breaking a 240 or 24 GHz monitor.

I have a cool stand-up comedian in my homeland, and about one of his breeds, he said: “I get angry and do dirty things, I don't do it on purpose, I do it cruelly, because I'm greedy and stupid, and only one thing scares me , what if God exists?". I'm afraid to answer your question ))

I'd say Jack in the box would be a good skill to have. But it sounds like you made it through the first 7 waves, it's the 8th one with the boss causing trouble. Towards the end of the 7th wave, start moving towards the safe zone so that when the boss spawns, you just have to deal with him, not the meteors. Being aware that the moment he uses his Dragon Hide, he will be immune to the taunt feature is also important, it means you are prepared to run around in a circle the moment that happens. I'll ask Tyr to provide a few answers as well since he actually plays dwarf more than I do.
