Bug How does 9999 legendary essence of vigor go walkies?

Remember an event or two back we got 9999 legendary essence of vigor (poison)? I think it was BHG? Anyway, I have been using mine sparingly, I had at least 9k left.

I did the X to switch essences for an Ancestral Ruins boss battle, and about halfway through the fight I looked down and I had zero essences left. Which explained why I was having such a hard time doing damage. There is zero chance I used it all up, I mean just from the math alone I was fighting for two minutes at most and I have less than 3 attack speed.

I've already submitted a ticket to Support, but is this a known bug of some sort?

 

Certain skills drain essence real fast, but maybe you put it in inventory by mistake....or dropped it

 

Some skills consume more essence each time you use them and the amount drops quickly especially during intense combat.
It can happen that you don't realize it right away.

 

It's not in my inventory, and I can't have dropped it because it was already equipped.

The only skills I used were Guardian of Flame (10), Singularity (0), and a bit of Frost Nova (6). The entire fight was about a minute, *maybe* two minutes, and my attack speed is 2.428. The math is not adding up here.

 

I really don't know what else could depend on.
Maybe some other player knows the answer or maybe some dev can help you about it.

 

You probably forgot to make the switch while killing monsters so you finished all the essences without realizing it, or you were hitting a boss that had health regeneration and if you haven't enough damage, you can use all the essences without killing it.

 

Nope, I made the switch right before engaging the boss, it didn't have health regen, and again, even if it did, the fight wasn't long enough for me to use up even a fraction of what I had.

 

Have you received any feedback by devs?

I don't think so, but I could be wrong.
Ask some dev via discord, they will know for sure.

 

Just to clear something up, since I don't remember; which event gave 9999 poison essence?
