    question:
-- Is there any way to cancel the game update when the launcher starts (you delete files from the Temp folder, and when the game starts, it downloads them again)?

I don't know if it can be stopped, but I don't think so.
You can try to start the game when the download bar turns green, before it completes.

If you're asking whether or not you can run the game without downloading the files, then no.

If you're wanting to stop a current update in progress for some reason, you can try doing it through the task manager (ctrl+alt+delete).

Problems already appear while playing and those interrupted updates may serve to reduce or to fix them definitively.
I think that interrupting an update could cause more problems.
    It's just an opinion.

The temp files are actual game files, so everytime you delete them, you must download everything again or there won't be a game to start :D

That's the point. the game starts without them. everything works without them. but the launcher, after deleting them, loads them again at startup.

Do you have any external program (file cleaner/antivirus) which causes the files to be cleaned everyday?

I mean, the game works with and without these files. therefore, the question is how to disable the launcher's function of constantly downloading these files? p.s. try deleting the game files from the temp folder. Both the launcher and the game itself will load without these files.

If you use programs that delete files in the temp folder, it's likely that they will delete everything and therefore the game will have to be redownloaded unless you configure the program to avoid deleting the files in the DSO temp folder.

However, I think the launcher will automatically redownload the game if any update has been implemented.

I noticed that when the game is downloaded for the first time, it will take just a while for it to reach 100%.

Subsequently, when there are updates and the launcher is loaded, the game will be redownloaded but the operation will be much faster, it will take much less time because some game files are already present.

Thanks for the answers, but that's not what I need. I'll try to explain in more detail: There is a launcher and the client itself - these are two separate programs. There are also 2 components of the game - one is in the temp folder, the other is in program files. If I delete the game folder from the program files folder, the game will not start (I will need to reinstall the game). If I delete the folder with the game files from the temp folder, the game will start and run without these files (but the launcher will reload them). I want to prevent the launcher from downloading these files.

You can delete the temp folder files, but the launcher will redownload them all as soon as it's launched.
I don't think there's a way to prevent it from doing that if the devs have programmed it to do just that.

Do some tests and then tell us if it worked or not.

As you've probably guessed, the game files are divided into 2, or rather 3, parts:
    1) Launcher (thinclient): this is the installed part, takes up about 70 MB and is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Drakensang Online
    2) DSOCLient folder in %temp%: it is divided into 2 parts:
    a) dlcache folder (56 MB): contains the game client (dro_client64.exe), the required libraries, and log files
    b) Game files (1960 MB): bundles_optional, bundles_required, and many others containing 3D models, animations, meshes, textures, maps, etc.

Therefore, if you delete the DSOClient folder in %temp%, it's normal to have to re-download 2 GB (point 2b) of files every time you play, because without them the game wouldn't work.

I don't want to argue. I'm just telling it like it is. The game is loading without files (item 2). The launcher itself says that the game can be continued. Thanks for the reply anyway.

Maybe I understand what you mean.
The launcher tells you that, after loading a few files (about 85-100MB), you can finally launch the game.
OK, in this case, you've downloaded the minimum game files to be able to "launch the game" but not "to play."
The difference is that every time the client DON'T find a mesh, texture, model, etc., it downloads it.
The problem is that in this case, the game doesn't run very well; many people experience freezing and/or stuttering.
The worst thing is that instead of having 1,500 files (2,000MB), you risk having 40,000 files (which also take up a bit more space), which isn't ideal for Windows, especially if you don't have a high-performance PC with a high-performance SSD.

Do some testing and tell us in which case the game runs faster or slower.

That said, in some situations I think it will still download them and if it does not redownload them the game will be slower, it may even freeze or show some error message.

In both cases, the game works fine.

By cncelling those files, how are the loading speeds of textures and dungeons after entering the game?

And what if they release updates that fix errors or bugs?
