"I've been playing this game for about 12 years, during which time I've seen improvements, declines, and rises, both positive and negative. But lately, I've noticed a significant increase in paid items. Is it really necessary to add mandatory paid sets or demand intense farming with no additional rewards beyond what already exists?

It's worrying how everything is becoming almost like any other game, primarily pay-to-win, where only money matters. Unfortunately, the game hasn't added anything new to keep players engaged, and it's sad that once you reach the "damage limit" for farming, all that's left is a repetitive cycle of farming and farming. Why haven't they conducted a survey or asked us players what we want? Nobody here seems to care that most people want to spend $500 on a "shadow" in this case. The game used to offer rewards for hard farming, not just swiping your card and being done with it. They're forgetting about the casual players who, for the most part, have stayed here no matter how bad the game is. Haven't they thought about copying a more popular game and adding activities besides farming?

Or is money the only thing that matters? In a community that wouldn't even be relevant on any streaming platform, or trying to maximize profits by manipulating egos where "if you don't buy, you don't progress."

I understand that the goal of all this is to make money, but this isn't how you get new players or maintain the loyalty of old ones. I know many long-time players who log off for more than 40 days because they don't connect with the game or the new features; it's a cycle of monotonous and boring repetition.

P.S.: If anyone's going to say I don't have enough money to spend here, just save your breath, because my PC and consoles are worth more than the equipment you can buy here.

And I'm still here because of the "love" of the game."

Summary aim to provide all players: New map, new event, new activities... in this new year 2026 :)

Been playing this game on and off for 13 years now. Its the first time that I genuinely don't have any interest in logging in anymore. The shadow pieces(im not even talking about the set) have made it so easy to farm in the bloodshed difficulty that it doesn't make any sense to improve anymore(my character is not even maxed), let alone pay so much money for something that is not important at all.
BP, the survey you held is one of the rare good moves you have made lately. Please, make sure you listen to what the players have to say, because there is a good chance that most of them are going to quit if you don't.

    Pay-to-win what?
The expression was used when this game was a hangout for PvP enthusiasts, because with real money you could quickly equip yourself, bypassing the lengthy farming process.
Unlike other games, the PvP combat system is more realistic; you're not facing predictable monsters to dodge and defeat, but someone whose moves are less predictable, which makes it more funny.
Over time, PvP has undergone drastic changes that have led many players to abandon the game or ignore it altogether.
Perhaps the new items introduced, which are very reminiscent of those promised by older developers for PvP, could improve its fortunes if they were made available exclusively for PvP.
    Now you pay for what?
Being able to kill the boss in a few seconds?
Perhaps this is what older players struggle to identify with.
I'd say that the game is more about pay-to-play than pay-to-win.
It's a different way of understanding the game, which is not ours, we should find a meeting point between our gaming expectations and those of the new developers.

DSO is definitely Pay-to-Play now and getting worse every time they update it.. but PvP is dead and I hope it stays that way and the Dev's focus only on the PvE content aspect of the game.. DSO was never suppose to be a MMOBA/PvP.. PvP wasn't event part of the BETA game until 1 year later after release 1.0.. it started out as a MMORPG no PvP..

    I don't want to get into the pay-to-play or pay-to-win debate;
it's a corporate choice, and players will have to choose, despite themselves, what to do.
Personally, I don't approve of 99% of the company's decisions and the lack of information.
For example, the Xmas event set and this new companion:
If someone had known about these two new features beforehand, they would have been able to choose where to invest their hard-earned andermants.
On the other hand, I imagine, or hope for the company, that there are tons of players ready to spend hundreds of euros on more/less useful things.
Right now, they're only good for letting you kill a boss in 3 seconds versus the previous 5 seconds.
Will they add more difficult things to do? That's great, but the problem, IMHO, is that there won't be rewards commensurate with the time/resources spent.
A clear example is the Ancestral Ruin, which requires time—a lot of resources for what? To get fewer rewards than a half-lap on any map on merciless without spending anything and taking 1/20 the time.

Just one final thing: they've been talking about PvP balancing for months/years, and it seems to me that all the choices made in the last year are further unbalancing PvP.
