  1. Hello everyone,
I am experiencing a persistent performance issue that has been ongoing for a long time (approximately a year), and I wanted to share my findings here in case other players are experiencing the same, and to request proper investigation from the technical team.

    The symptoms:
    • Black/grey screen for several seconds when changing maps
    • Noticeable delay when opening NPC shops or selling items
    • During group gameplay in maps, severe lag occurs — I cannot interact properly with monsters, item drops are delayed, and I cannot follow what is happening in real time. This makes group content essentially unplayable.
What I have already tried (local troubleshooting ):
    • Full reinstall of the game client (multiple times)
    • Clearing temporary files and DSO client folder cache
    • Flushing DNS cache
    • Testing Google DNS (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1)
    • Disabling background services (SysMain, Windows Search)
    • Closing all background applications and overlays
    • Testing both WiFi and wired (Ethernet) connections
    • Running the game from SSD storage
    • DMZ configuration on router
    • Changing router settings
    Network test results:
    • Download speed: ~80 Mbps, Upload: ~10 Mbps
    • Ping to grimmag.drakensang.com: 42–47ms, 0% packet loss
    • Traceroute reaches game server IP in 7 hops with stable latency
    • ISP confirmed no issues on their side
Client log findings: The game logs clearly show two recurring server-side issues:
    1. CDN asset loading failures: IoChannelHandler: failed to open stream 'httpnz://alicdn-prod-774.drakensang.com/...' Failed to load resource 'tex:...'
    2. Server-side disconnection: RakNetClient::HandleDisconnectionByServer(): Kicked by server (47. etc.)
These errors appear consistently and are not related to local hardware or ISP performance.

VPN test results: When connecting through a VPN (European server), the map loading delays are slightly reduced (approximately 2–3 seconds improvement), but the issue does not fully resolve. This suggests a combination of routing inefficiency from Bigpoint network, AND a CDN-side issue with asset delivery.

All local troubleshooting has been exhausted. The evidence points to two server-side issues:
    1. The CDN node alicdn-prod-774.drakensang.com is failing to serve game assets reliably
    2. The game server is terminating sessions unexpectedly (Kicked by server)
    I am asking:
    • Has anyone else experienced this ?
    • Can a moderator please escalate this to the technical team for CDN and server-side investigation?
I have attached ping results, traceroute, client logs, and DXDiag report as supporting evidence to support but they clearly told me they are not willing to investigate my case !

    Thank you for your time.

I think your speed is too low.

I agree with -heresia- your Upload speed is very low probably to low for any Games that require a connection.. you should be pulling in the same amount of Upload speed or more as your Download speed.. I use Ethernet Cable when playing Online Games not WIFI and I'm at 2977-2992mbps Download and 2983-2996 Upload Speed I run on a 3gb Lan line.. I'm in the USA my Ping is at 70ms always it never goes above 75ms.. Try using Direct Connect to DSO with Ethernet Cable because WIFI is very bad for DSO.. If you can't connect with Ethernet Cable you may need a better Internet Provider and if there isn't a better one in your AREA then you just may have to give up on playing DSO until you can get better Upload speeds because at 10mbps Upload speed that won't even connect to YouTube in most cases..

This has been confirmed to be a server-side issue and is in the queue to be resolved... one day maybe

  5. so you did not read my thread! IF there was a speed problem (upload as you are saying) I would have packet loss , but I have server kicks and CDN failures. So I'm sure it's not ISP problem , and I know there are more players with same symptoms
