7 yrs old issue here, here we go again, on map change the following happens (captured with network inspection tool):

loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
    ....
    10000000 times
    ...
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
loading map, data received corrupted, trying again
    ...

    till the infinity.

I've sent like 10+ tickets to support to no avail.

The issue is still present like it was years ago, how many people quit because their map never loads? maybe the game isnt a ghost town it currently is because of the lvl 100 update, maybe its due to your networking CDN-delegated code failing so hard that people can't even enter the game?

Seems like a fundamental problem thats affecting large portion of the users, and your company fails to undertake ANY action.

Keep banning and removing my posts, that does not change the fact that a legion of users left your game simply because their map does not load lmao

I literally have binary data dump you can plug to the wireshark to see the erroneous packets flowing over and over. Thats why the map is 'white' and never loads and the bandwidth taken is 100% (in my case it fills entire 100 MBit/s lmao)

Don't forget to ban me for 'being emotional'

i'm specifically referring to the following issue:

    https://board-en.drakensang.com/thr...eedback-answered-questions.86138/#post-788312

i've been sending support tickets, screaming, pleading on forums for YEARS to no avail. Then your company says 'hey theres an issue how do we fix???'

i have binary data dump reproducing the entire issue. apologize and beg for it and i might consider sendit it to you

    --MERGED--

    250 MB bandwidth consumed LMAO

    EDIT

So bad lmao, check this out:

been waiting 10 min for a map change, when will it change? after it consumes all my 100GB available packet data ??????????????????????????????????

Hi, I believe I'm experiencing the exact same problem.
When I try to enter certain maps, the loading takes a very long time and sometimes gets stuck in a loading/reload loop. Interestingly, the same PC and game installation load the map almost immediately when I connect through mobile data instead of my home Internet connection.
I've also tried changing DNS, disabling IPv6 and using a VPN, but the problem still occurs over my home connection.
Did you ever manage to find a solution or identify what was causing the corrupted data / failed map loading?
    Thanks!

Bear in mind that the fault often lies not with the internet connection or the game itself, but rather with the operating system, the antivirus, or other programs running on your PC that interact with the game.

Yeah, it definitely seems like it'd have to be something on the user end. Maybe it's something the internet provider is doing or a router setting (assuming they're using a router).

I think you guys should ask on the Discord server since there's more active people on there (usually) & you may have better luck.

    Good luck!

Tech support is mostly non-existent, so I wouldn't waste my time on that & plus it's kind of even more aggravating when you get a canned response, lol.

absolute false, misinformed, speculative 'out of ones' rear' response. You have no idea whatsoever what you're talking about

the issue has alerady been acknowledged multiple times as a bug in the network stack of the client net code, they said they don't have resources to fix the issue and yes its widely affecting multiple users

Don't comment on tech stuff you've no idea about just to spread your misguided opinions.

I can play that game too, look:

We have 160 suns in our solar system therefore blah blah blah

    no regards as usual,

:p:p:p:p:pIf you're a genius, then explain why it works for most people but not for you. If it were a game error, most of us would have experienced it; I think you still have a lot to learn about how programs work.

i code for a living, im a 'professional' 15 yrs old exp dev, i code in following languages:

    ASM (assembly)
    c
    c++
    java
    c#
    javascript (jquery, ext.js)
    css (+BEM)
    html
    SQL (+T-SQL, +PL/SQL,)
    PHP, PERL etc

in addition i know the following environments:
    jetty
    maven
    cometD
    win32API

    also:
data structures (trees, maps, lists etc)
concurrency (mutex/monitor, MESI, locking, atomics etc, hardest coding there is)
network stack (TCP/IP + socket API)
    some linux kernel code
CPU architectures (microcode, internal queues, interrupt policies etc)

i cba wasting more time figuring out what i've done. I forgot more about computers than you've ever learnt, so don't patronize me

you've 0 idea what you're talking about, yet you still talk. 100% error on the client side, shut up

    No regards

this is what i will do:

Try getting a friend with a laptop or computer on the same network as you. Have them install DSO, log in with your account, and test if they can get past the map loading screen.
    • If it works on their PC, you can narrow the issue down to your own PC, game installation, drivers, or network configuration.
    • If they experience the same issue, it could be related to your network, router, or account.
Next, try connecting your own PC to a different network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you can get past the map loading screen.
    • If it works on a different network, the issue is likely related to your home network, router, or ISP.
    • If it still doesn't work, it could be related to your network adapter, drivers, firewall, or game installation.
You can also try verifying the game files, disabling any VPN or proxy, and checking whether your firewall or antivirus is blocking the game.

The bug is already reproduced in the stack i provided in the first post of this thread, thats where the issue is, why do you even bother typing it all? i already shown you where the problem is, why you tell me about anything else?? like bro, my steering wheel is broken and you say 'check your tyres', whats wrong with you? cant you read?

DSO uses an abandoned network library called rakNet (and its protocol), this:

    https://github.com/facebookarchive/RakNet

sources last updated 12 yrs ago LMAO, its not even win10 compatible. The company already stated in 2022 that they are aware of the issue but 'cant dispatch the team to fix it'

and the reason why they cant fix it is because the game is intergrated with this abandoned library and fix would entail ripping it all off and use either something like asio (or boost::asio) or writing a custom, DSO specific layer directly on top of native socket IO. This work entails rewriting tons and tons of code, something that is both expensive and time consuming. DSO just dances around the issue and feeds us nothingburgers (they've already disclosed the issue and they reproduced it too) because from business perspective (hello yoozoo interactive!) fixing it doesnt justify the benefit, i.e. they'd lose money (relative to what they'd have by not fixing it) by doing so

Hope that clarifies things and maybe will stop people from posting nonsense 'out of my own rear'

    no regards,

    Elve
