Alternative solution (PvP)

    Hi all!

    There are a lot of talk about unbalance in PvP. Just a suggestion. Why don't make an arena where all the players after entering the arena they automatically will be at the same lvl (the max lvl in game), with the same items and skills . That way all has the same chance in the battles.

    i had suggested this during old forums days. its something similar to bigger game titles like guild of wars have implemented.

    this would bring such a relief to this dying game. it would be interesting to actully get to test our skills in areana rather see who has bigger CC.

    not really. player still play as thier selected classes. but all ranger will have same equiments that would suit best to thier class. similarly sw ,dk and dwarfs.

    however talent tree is will define your role play. it will be challenging and fun to play in such skill orianted arena.

    it will probably end up exhaustion battle and sudden death situation like in football :)

    In the end, i predict the most skillful with potion potting wins :)

    Even Counter Strike had options to use (albeit it was mostly m4, ak, deagle, awp). Maybe have the option to join a 'pure' version of pvp. Everyone loves having options, although this may further fracture player bases in lower populated servers.

    Totally +1 Sper :)

    Best way is to give fame bonus points to those lower rank in fame to keep on PVP :)

    So that they still get incentive in losing

    Sometimes those lower ranked ppl cant even scratch the stronger PVPs and get less than 10 points . . . :p

    Another idea... You know in PvE that if you are more than 5 levels different from your opponent, you don't get XP and even if you are within the 5 levels, it scales based on the difference in level? Well, how about we scale how much Fame you get based on the difference in fame level for two opponents. For example, I am an Ardent Legionairs. I have a roughly 40/60 win rate when going against centurians up to NKotOs (And a 99/1 win rate for going up against Ardent Legionairs and lower). I should get more fame when I beat those "Harder" oponents, and they should get less fame when they beat me, the "Easier" Oponent. Impliment that and the LVL 40+ PVPers will be begging the developers to tighten the match making guidelines.

    It is funny you should say that. I can't remember what thread, but someone acused me of just saying their idea won't work but without sugesting an alternative. Usualy if I say something won't work it is because it won't or because people would hate the solution.

    I also like that idea. :)

    The only reason i suggested as I did because it is easier for the developers to implement. Less coding = less work = less waiting for players. :D

    There would be no one with "more potting". It would be like if every players battled with a clone of his/hers self and the only diff was the clone (the online opponent) has a different fighting tactic.

    The poster didn't say "more" potting. The word was skillful, I believe. I think this means using the potion at the right time during the exhaustion phase, like when the opponent thinks you aren't going to use one and they are going to win, or whatever. Doesn't really matter, there are plenty of ways to take care of this. I can think of several stops for that. But, honestly, this plan will never get off the ground. It might be fun for an event or something, but BP would lose gobs and gobs of money if they made this the new mode for PvP.

    Most big spenders in this game spend money to be able to crush and destroy people in PvP, not for fighting monsters! Fighting monsters is easy, you don't need to spend money to kill 99% of mobs in the game. I'm pretty sure BP won't do this if it means people can stop buying gems, cots, ander and glyphs and fight skill-to-skill for free in PvP. In other words, the plan is faulty. Why would BP change their money-making machine for a non-profit machine? It doesn't make any financial sense. Sorry, but this is just a fact; making profit is what drives almost all business decisions. If you can figure out a way that BP can profit from a new PvP system like this, then it may have a chance. If not, it's dead in the water.

    Because this would be the end of whole Bigpoint business with COTs, andermants and runes.

    Why should people spend thousands of Euros on those things if you make equal arena for whole people ? People are not equal so arena is not equal as well.

    All have the same opportunity. So it's absolutely OK that 1% of top players crush everyone else in arena. I like to crush weak oponents.

    Kill thousand of them a day is not a problem :D

    That is why I made my sugestion above... let the 1%ers pound on the less fortunate for kicks and giggles if it makes them feel good. Just make it so they don't get the same amount of honor for killing easy players as they do for killing what I would call a "Worthy Players."

    I'd love to see if people like you would still enjoy killing recruits and legionairs if you were getting only 10% of the honor you would for killing a fellow Marshall.

    P.S. This would not hurt BP's buisness... if anything, it would help because the top players would need an edge over the other top players as opposed to having an enormous edge over the average player and they would need to spend loads to get even the smallest edge over each other.

    I think the idea is perfect. The high-p2p people spend more money, to win against each other, instead of crushing the f2p and low-p2p people with the already outrageous amounts of money they spend. That way, maybe BP can hire some more programmers to put some effort into eradicating their bug infestation.
