    Hi,

I can't seem to find a definite answer to my question and would like so solicit your advice.

I have read somewhere that you need to upgrade your weapon.
Should this be concentrating on the weapon only or should I be upgrading everything?

If I upgrade everything, it takes away from my weapon....

Somewhat longer answer than you may think. Beyond just the weapon, there are 3 ways to improve your stats. Better gear, gems, and GOP.

For GOP, I would always recommend trying to get the most bang for your buck. Of course try to decide what will give you the most benefit for the lowest price. But know also that the biggest bang may change. For example if HP is your biggest weakness obviously upgrading an item with HP would be the most helpful. But you could also upgrade gems to get the same impact and spend the GOP elsewhere.

It is a never ending process with a moving target, and the question will always be a choice of spending a smaller amount you have now to upgrade a lower level item, or keep saving to get the big item to the next level. Weapon upgrades can have a big impact, but they become expensive quickly. Maybe upgrading the adornment or a ring instead will give you an immediate impact you wouldn't have if you continue collecting to upgrade the weapon. And, maybe there is an item you know you will be replacing soon as it's weak and a better one is likely to come along soon. Unfortunately there is no easy simple approach, just a logical one.

Depends on the upgrade costs and the stats we are talking about.

Most of my gear has 2 upgrades on it and is level 47 now, my shoulders are 48. My weapon and shield have 3 upgrades, going from an initial level 43 to current level 46. Seal of death has 6 upgrades from 40 to 46. No upgrades on my helmet or on my vargulf 5v5 flagrunning switch set.

Current plan is to upgrade the shield next to 47, then i'll decide among the rest of the body armor and weapon.

Also please not if your going to craft DO NOT upgrade an item your going to use as a base ingredient. Also note that you can melt an item if a better one comes along so your GoP are forever.

Are people still crafting? From what I have read, it is not worth it anymore as you will most likely find an item with better stats

Stat possibilities are the same for crafted and dropped items. The consideration is the gold cost of crafting that is exorbitant.

The real goal is to get the best gear available.

For beginners crafting can be a shortcut to extraordinary and legendary gear with better stats.

For intermediate players crafting 4 of the same item may produce 1 higher item of the same type, and it may actually has significantly better stats than you could find by chance. My experience is that less than 1 in 4 are actually a better item, and less than 1 in 25 are worth the cost.

For the advance players crafting is an extremely poor gamble, just another way for suckers to lose their gold or ander. End gamers are better off farming for uniques, completing sets for bonuses, or farming for upgrades and gems.
