    Hello Heroes,

    Since release 147 we are using FMOD Studio for the sounds of the game. This allows us to update the sound environment and be more flexible with sounds in general. However, the implementation of it was not only difficult – it caused several places in the game to sound

    We are currently cleaning this up and we would appreciate it if you do the following: If you stumble upon an area or item which has sound issues or bizarre sound – then please report it. Either leave a description of it here or send it straight to Support.

    Here’s an easy and quick example what you could write.

    Map Slifmoor:
    sound disappears when approaching the travel stone

    Status: Intermittent Clipping
    Cause: Unknown
    Description of issue:

    MAP - Crypt of Kings.
    Criteria - Heredur upon defeat can cause a clipping in audio.
    Result - This clipping effect causes thin client memory to keep building it's heap size. Reloading game sometimes resolves this issue. Sometimes reboot system is needed.

    There were a heck of a lot of FMOD-related Nebula3 errors in the first week or so after the sound system was switched over. The dev's managed to sort that out, but the sound is still dodgy for most players.

    A little test for you if you are keen: try disabling your sound card/chipset. Effectively turn your computer's sound off - but at the card/chipset point, not just the speakers. Then try DSO and see if the lag is markedly different.

    I dont know if these belong here:

    • when closing down client, i get a short and loud soundclip
    • shots fired by ranger sound really annoying, the old sound was much better
    • sound of pumpkin pet is way too loud
    • some shots fired by dwarf are too loud
    • pvp sound when finding match almost unhearable, please back to original
    • background sound in waterygrave too loud
    • [edit] teleport/jump/dive skill on other players sounds like drinking pot, own teleport not affected but from other players it differs, really strange...

    The effects sounds (of abilities) is like 90% lower in volume then it was last time I played (around a month ago). Was there any updates made or what could this be?

    My pc volume is the same, and in-game settings for volume are as they were before- even if I max out all volume settings sound effects are still extremely low.

    I tried browser and download version both same problem. Also on another time game had no sound at all.

    Hi guys and gals!

    - Ranger shooting= sounds like you are chewing on a rubberband
    - Lion mount= muted roar, when moving it sounds like an old steamtrain
    - Dragon mount= no moving sound at all
    - Emote Attack!= muted
    - Emote Riverdance= way to low sound
    - Emote Dracaty= way to low sound
    - Pet Nimble Raptor= no sound at all

    -"Battle found" notification is almost mute.
    - sounds that rangers are making while using the skills are too loud and lame.

    There is no raptor sound aswell (if the shell cracking was intended at all), there is no sound when taking out gems too (I am pretty sure there was a sound related to that) and when I unequip myself and take the items back on (right side + cloak) it has a sort of a spring sound.

    - Spawning Ground: the background 'sounds of underwater' are too loud.
    - The accelerating/pounding heartbeat that came with dwindling HP is gone. That was a useful (if annoying) auditory warning.

    Stormball keepy-uppy emote plays the outcome sound effects, before the action (kick). lol

    the sound effects are not as they used to... i can barely hear some of them for my mage even with sound effects volume turned all the way up.

    any idea? I am using the download version...

    Hit escape and the choose settings
    click the speaker make the master volume at max the background music 1/2 and the sound effects max.

    I have no music and only a few creepy sound effects, the ones that were way too loud a month ago on Agathon.
    I sent Support some screen shots and my DxDiag file as they requested, but still have nothing to show for it. 5/7/15

    I discovered that DSO has its own, separate, volume control in my volume mixer. It is different than the control for stereo speakers, but linked to it.
    Control of all music and sound effects returned to normal, when the slide went off zero. Yeah!

    Hope this might help others with volume control issues.

    This new patch worsened the audio problems on entering a map.
    The delay time increased drastically.

    One wonders why.

    As do I. The sounds of a mages basic attack seem exactly the same as from the robots shooting in Xblaster (BP game). Hell, who even remembers that game. Did the devs go through their old files?
    Playing with sound in general causes a lot of lag, so i play mute as well.

    Here is my main concern:

    Previously, when I registered for a battle and when a battle pops up, it gave me an Alarm sound that was quite loud.
    And if I was browsing internet on another window while waiting for a battle to come up, I immediately knows that a battle was ready.

    However, this battle ready Alarm is now so faint that I can hardly hear it.
    Please increase the volume for this battle Alarm sound.

    I simply turn my sound off, ie Music Volume, and the the other 2.. I do 3 clicks down.. This helps shut down sounds of Pets, minions and pvp to a reasonable lvl.
