So my connection acted up yesterday for some reason. Since I rarely use my ol' desktop PC nowadays, I pluck the Internet cable from my router into my laptop. Had to take it to college yesterday and when I came home, it wouldn't work again (nothing altered except for taking the cable out while I took the device with me). Tried all the "turn off and on", "plug out and back in with a little waiting in between" methods all I could, but to no avail. It made such fusses before too, but then I could fix it by meddling with the cables a bit, plugging out, back in and restarting. So I went to Google the problem from a phone with a separate connection. Several forums proved complicated and not useful... until I found a video. The clip in question suggested changing from obtaining an IP and DNS address automatically, to inputting some specific ones. Tried one of the combos posted there and it worked. Now my question is, could there be any repercussions/drawbacks/consequences to this? Might be silly and me just getting a bit paranoid, but I'm not terribly experienced with this kinda tech stuff, so forgive me on that one xD. Answers would be appreciated, thanks!

A friend told me he did the same once, but instead of searching for a new combo of addresses, he called Customer Care for one. Also, he noted that the manual numbers would work for a bit, then one'd have to go back to automatic and it'll be fine (though presently, if I change it back to automatic, it stop working again).

Now, related to the game, does this affect the new T&Cs? Think not, but better ask than be sorry.
