Avoid auto-slotting essences

I can't find info on this, not even a suggestion, but then again I haven't yet figured out effective searching in this forum. Whenever I don't have essences equipped, I'd like to be able to avoid having essences I pick up be automatically slotted as though I wanted to use them. I don't want to use them all the time, but the game seems determined to make me use them. Has this been suggested before?

This has indeed been repeatedly suggested and forwarded for consideration by the dev's however the fact that it comes up again and again is an indicator of desire and need and hopefully will eventually have some sort of impact.

There is a new feature coming "soon" that will allow you to access and change essence directly from the action bar with a drop down menu in the place where essence currently shows as equipped. All hope that this will also include the fix we all want to see and avoid having to stop play to move inventory.

 

Speaking of which(and I may have just not figured it out yet, bear with me), ability to seperate multiples of one item. like, I know I'm gonna have to fight X boss, so I need to have 35 essences of X type on hand, but don't want to waste them on the horde on the way back to talk to the quest giver. Even if this feature is only for essences, it'd save a whole lot of headache(again, I may have just not explored the features and forums enough yet)

 

Here is a suggestion for you.

Purchase the cheap green essence. If my memory serves me correctly it will cost 3 silver for 999. 30 silver will fill you up. Now since you essence is filled every time you pick essence up it will auto fill...

 

I used to do that back when there was no other use for gold. These days, it doesn't bother me as I am overstocked on ess anyway. If I accidentally pick some up while I'm fighting and I use some, it doesn't bug me the way it used to.
