Best leveling aside from quests in early 30s?

I'm using a level 30 (about 80% to level 31) Ranger that I started about a week ago as my first character. So far, all I've needed to do is complete the quests to get a fair amount of experience. Right now I've done every quest that awards experience in Resistance Command Center, Jarlshofn, and Hognis Mine. I assume more quests will be unlocked there as I level up, but where would be the best place to level until then?

I've tried searching for simple information like this, but all of the information I'm finding is from early 2013 or even 2012, when the difficulty system was apparently different.

I would suggest farming (killing many times) the Normal Boss Herald in The Hidden Sanctum for fast XP. Then once you are around level 33 you can start to farm Sigrismar Frostclaw in the Eternal Watch. This is what most players will do if they want to level up and have run out of quests.

If you're getting hung up at 31, then you likely grouped too much. I would follow the moderators advice but I would also be sure to solo Caverns. There are a few mini bosses in that zone that pay out high XP and they are very easy to kite. Also, be sure you have socketed that bonus XP gem you get. I just noticed you started this toon a week ago, I think that gem drops as part of your daily bonus on day 5-ish.

 

I used the exp gem as soon as I got it, and I haven't grouped at all. I focused entirely on quests though, so I suppose I'm just a bit under-leveled for my next set of quests.

 

Players who successfully complete quests (do not die too often) face this problem as well. This is because they killed fewer monsters in total compared to players who died several times before completing quests and had to re-kill entire dungeons several times. Generally, the fastest way to get experience is to group with players of similar level and farm the 'biggest' level-appropriate boss. In your case this would be Khalys or Herald, don't remember because it was a long time ago for me. Good luck leveling.

 

If you re lvl 30, i'd suggest to find a group with players of max 32, and farm sigris, that really is the fastest way. Sigris is a 35 boss which you can find when you go through the door at the end of 'Eternal watch'.
This is what i used to do from lvl 30 and higher with the dwarven rally, to lvl up as much dwarves to lvl 40 in a month as possible.
But remember, if you team up with players that are more then 2 lvls higher then you, you ll get significantly little xp.

Yes, I am Treganna. "Was Treganna", is probably more apt. I deleted Treganna over a year ago. I currently play daily under the name Tregs on Tegan. I was entirely gone from the game for nearly nine months. Most folks I know are now gone. The Tegan vibe is not the same but I do play and I'm willing to help folks in need.

 

-Farm area bosses
-Dont get in groups with atleast 1 player that is 5 or more lvl ahead of you
-Kill everything on the way
-Try to find the amulet of insight in grimm i think, more xp bonus

Sir Treganna, I just want u to know that I really miss u and you are the best GM for me because I didn't join any other guilds in tegan after u left the game. I created a small guild 5 months ago with only 12 effective members. I learned how to manage a good guild because of you. Thank u very much sir Treg.
