    I am still new to the game and probably made a mistake by starting with a SM which seems to be the least popular character in the game and the SM forums don't really offer any good guides or much info but... My question is what is the easiest way to get better gear to help me progress on my way to 45? I just read a post over in the SW forum where they were talking about farming the exact right low level gear level 6-10 blue gear and then upgrading it to lvl 39. They did have some pictures showing some pretty amazing stats on even some lower lvl characters that have done this but unless I am missing some easier way to farm glyphs then that would take me a year or more just to farm gear that I am using only to level to 45. I have also read where it is recommended to upgraded green to blue and blue to purple which geems like it would be easier depending on luck of the crafted items. I have also started farming prison of souls and liar's lair because that is the only place I have found a legendary item and i have found three in there now after about 10 runs. Should I just keep farming for legendary items until I get a full setup as this seems to me to be the easiest way but maybe I am missing something.

    bro i advise u to reach lvl 30 first and by that time u will unlock ammon's quests too that monsters in parralel worlds drop very good equipment you can team up with other your lvl players and go there for farming ....... I too do this :)

    Don't read old threads. There is no point trying to upgrade low level gear from levels 1-6 anymore.
    Things have changed a bit. Items levels 43-45 gives comparatively better stats than upgraded gear.

    If your concern is leveling, there is absolutely no need to farm. Just level your character doing regular quests and equipping only with the gear you may find during your quests and you should be able to level it to at least 40 without additional farming.

    The low level 4-8 gear upgraded to level 40+ no longer works.

    SMs are awesome and you did a good job choosing to be one. Other jobs have advantages and disadvantages and it really boils down to your gear. Stick with it yes get level 30 and do the quests in Parallel Word (Watery Grave) and team up with people. Since the focus is PVE you'll have fun with other people that might have farmed a lot and will simple like to have fun with a SM.

    Yeah, just keep playing as usual, doing quests and using any better items you happen to find. If a map proves to be hard for you to manage, get farming to replace your lesser gear. In my opinion, it's not worth doing Ammon's quests as fresh as lv30, as you may want those items at cap-level. Yes, they are indeed repeatable, but seeing how lengthy they are, I doubt doing them twice would be something you'd want. Still, I have seen quite a few 30+ people with Ammon items. Then, I'd also not focus on glyphs just now, as you can find better items as you progress. To my mind, one should only get serious with glyphs towards end-game, and invest them into hard to replace items that'd be kept and used more. Again, since you can't lose glyphs (just melting a glyph-powered item will restore 100% of your GoP), some people do upgrade their items, even if they know they will be replacing them at some point. Therefore, do as you wish, and good luck, I've only shared my own thoughts on the matter.

    Lol I have done ammon's quest countless number of times. I wanted to get better and better. Only Grotto and Cave are slow others are extremely fast. In comparison I can clear Catacomes/crypt quest in a good week if not less and Grotto was 3 weeks Cave was just shy of 3 weeks by 2 days but I had a day off of work also.

    Well, it depends how much time one has on one's hands and how he/she can administrate that time. For me, one week to do something I've done before, just for a re-roll of stats, is way not worth it (especially given that I don't really have much trust in my luck on this game :D). Maybe if I get a certain piece as very, very crappy, but even then... I'd hesitate between redoing it all over or just leaving it as is. As far as Ammon items are concerned, I just want to do them and have them as a trophy, and maybe use them from time to time, in certain situations. The strength of your toon (is that how you guys refer to it?) also weighs quite a bunch, not to mention the way you do the quest(s), alone or with a group.

    @Morinphen

    Well you do get melts off it plus there is quite a bit of melts to farm while doing it. Another good reason is to help people get to Khaly PW.
