When a purchase is made using WildCoins on a WildTangent account, BigPoint also bills either a credit card or a paypal account for the full price of the purchase--double billing.

THIS IS WIRE FRAUD. I will complain to the FBI and my state attorney general if the funds I was fraudulently billed via Paypal are not immediately returned.

Ahem... criminal fraud has to include "intent." This is just another bug so you can complain to the above mentioned authorities all you want to no avail.

I think you would efforts would be more productive contacting payment support and letting them sort this out.

    Luck be with ye,

I have complained about this issue, once in the past, so BigPoint is ON NOTICE. Ahem, this satisfies the intent requirement. Failure to fix the double billing equals intentional double billing.

Also, I have contacted support and received no reply. I therefore challenged the charges through Paypal. If BigPoint knows what's good for them they will not try to justify the charges.

With so many payment options offered to players from BP, it astounds me that people use CC's or Pay Pal at all for anything BP has to offer. I have paid cash for ander but primarily use a Subway gift card to make game purchases.
And with Pay Pal's reputation how can anyone even trust that service? Google Pay Pal fraud. That is a nightmare company when it comes to people having funds disappear or not receiving money.
And now you're making it even easier for them to rip you off because you are going through 3 or 4 different parties to make purchases on one game. Incredible.
Maybe BP is charging you because WildTangent has given them YOUR account to withdraw funds from when it should be THEIR account paying out to BP. The fact that WildTangent has given your account number out at all to BP shows THEY are the ones ripping you off.
But then it is easier to post a thread on forums here claiming wire fraud instead of contacting support like a normal person should.

It's not WildTangent. It is a BugPoint issue.

And I posted here so other WildTangent users would know about this fraud and to keep an eye out for it, you abnormal dimwit.

    Kasherinae,

From my experience, what I can say is that, since you have threaten the big point with FBI and legal action, support direct your ticket to their legal team. And again, legal team will direct that ticket to support. You will get stuck in that loop. Unless you do what you really meant to do.

Also, make sure you have plenty of supporting documents proving that your case is a fraudulent one and it's not mistake from your side.

    Good luck.

    Kasherinae,

Every since I started playing this game Big Point Support had been very responsive and prompt in dealing with my tickets. I would email them personally after creating a ticket and they always reply kindly and informatively to me.

I'm saying these not as a Fan Boy or Kool-aide drinker. This is just to say that BP might not have intentionally or in bad faith scammed you on your bill. Give them the benefit of the doubt and a chance to fix the issue before resorting to "desperate measures" as what you should to anybody not just a game company.

It's always best to ask for a timeline and update when communicating with them, specially since we are dealing with real world money. If they failed or refuse to provide you these then it's time to change tact and go legal on them.

Good luck and may the issue get resolved in a peaceful manner.

    Word of advice.

The person who will be fixing your problem is a low level person, not getting paid that much. A normal person just like you.

Their job is quite likely to be repetitive and possibly quite dull - oh and they may well be monitored closely through KPI's like number of tickets dealt with per hour. So don't give them reasons to want to ignore your queries any more than they already want to, by being unnecessarily obstinate and rude.

Polite but firm is the way to go. Be clear, be precise and cut the emotion out.

It's almost never worth escalating issues to threats unless you have been through all reasonable steps - and then only issue threats that you intend to carry through with. Using threats in any other way generally just makes you look stupid.

Bigpoint > Wildtangent > Paypal > your bank, that is 4 different places that are involved in this double billing.

Have you contacted all 4, or is the blame purely sitting at our door? I will however ask around, and have emails sent to the correct person, to see if they've heard of this issue from any other customer, but if this was an ongoing re-occuring issue over months, I'm sure there would be many many more complaints.

Also (excuse the double post) If you're currently experiencing a delay in your support response, it is due to holiday backlog, as people are returning to the office on different dates, and also there is a current payment issue with purchases that were made over the Christmas holidays being cancelled/returned to banks causing many players to have negative andermant, causing payment support along with normal support to be inundated with several tickets, please give support a chance, they do work as quickly as they can, but the correct people need to be around when it comes to escalating certain cases.

We're not Wild Tangent users. We know better. We give our money directly to BP. It's much safer that way.
And I'm an "abnormal dimwit" now, oh woe oh woe, whatever shall I do, I wanted only to be a normal dimwit. Me no happy now :(

Yes, you are an abnormal dimwit.

And it's NOT safer when Bigpoint changes billing information and bills an account WHICH WAS NOT AUTHORIZED.

I have the confirmation of the transaction, I KNOW Bugpoint is at fault.
