I cannot get into the game at all today. I load in to the main page fine, but I cannot get in to play the game. It starts off to load. I see the Drakensang loading screen, then the word disappears and the black screen just hangs and hangs??

    Hi Heroes of Dracania

The most recent Adobe Flashplayer update causes some odd behavior of the game client if you are using the Chrome browser.

The game client will load a black page.

There are two solutions for it:

1.Resize the client window at least once.

2.Switch back to the Pepper flashplayer plug-in in Chrome.

We apologize for any inconveniences caused.

    Hi all,

I am having this same issue in both Firefox and Chrome. I tried the above advised steps in Chrome with no success. When I hit play game it sends me to the load screen and for a split second I can see it loading but then it goes black. Any other suggestions for fixing this issue in Chrome or Firefox?

    Thanks,

    Mal

These are the steps i usually try with any trouble i encounter with online games, the latest only in extreme situations:

    1. Try to refresh.

    2. Clear browser’s cache: historyàclear recent historyàall; show details, select cache (buffer).

    3. Clear java cache: startà search and open javaàtemporary internet filesà settings à delete files à ok.

    4. Clear flash cache: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html

Click this link and clear/delete all.

    5. Clear the games client folder: user/appdata/local/temp/(gameclient; map with gamename).

    6. Reinstall flash: a. uninstall, for help click here; b. restart pc; c. install here.

    7. Reinstall java: a. uninstall http://www.java.com/en/download/uninstall.jsp ; b. install http://www.java.com/en/download/help/download_options.xml

    8. Make sure graphic drivers are up to date.

    9. Use windows disk cleanup: start>accesoires>system tools>windows disk cleanup.

    10. Use windows disk defragmenter: start>accesoires>system tools>windows disk defragmenter.

    11. Use CCleaner to fix your registry and related issues

    12. Reboot computer and try again.

I am finding this incredibly confusing. I have disabled the flash according to instructions, now I need to reinstall. Although the site says it comes with Windows 8, which I have. So what are the ramifications for doing this And, now I need to choose from a bunch of flash players for Windows 8. I really don't know what I am doing here with this all. Seems a bit much to accommodate this game.

Looking further, I guess it is still installed, so back to ground zero...

This is so G-D annoying! Kicked out again! edit ! And none of this helps...

Funny, but can't get rid of Windows 8, need that for compatibility with many other computers... Seems problem may be connected to R119 release as that's about the time others are noting their (similar) problems began.

I have been using the DSO Thin Client since day 1... This set of problems, and those of others being shared in the various threads, are more recent and point towards R119. I don't think the responsibility should be pushed to the user, it is the responsibility of the game administrators and staff to ensure the game operates smoothly.

My anti-virus protection has not been a problem before and I don't think it is wise to disable it while playing the game. In addition, I notice that over a month ago (on the forum) there was an uproar over an issue of not launching or not connecting.... BTW, I have had the same anti-virus product since before joining Drakensang. I have to say it is a Draken issue and that it needs to be fixed. I have done all that has been asked, nonetheless, and still cannot stay logged successfully. One last thing ('cuz I've about had it and "trust" that the Draken gang will figure it is their problem) -- the longer I wait to log back into the game, the faster the launch. Once I am in the game, I am good for several minutes, then kicked out again. I see this as a game issue, not my anti-virus or other cache issue(s). Please get to fixing this problem that appears coincident with the R119 release.

  14. Please be aware that some antivirus applications can interfere with the successful installation of the thin client and also with the launch of DSO. This causes DSO to "hang" on start-up. If you are unable to set DSOClient and drakensangonline.exe as exceptions in your antivirus application, you may need to disable your antivirus app. while installing any new versions of the thin client and/or when launching DSO.

Try to check hardware and software session limit of network. It looks like jammed after some network activity. Possible reasons: P2P software consumes, software policy changed by updating, router setting is changed without notice. If not, router hardware maybe over heat or malfunction.

Wha-what-what? You need to be an IT tech to make these fixes. Thanks, but you have to be kidding... I'll log in every few days or so... maybe this problem will be resolved with R120, or 121, or ? I did a system restore to 7 days back, and the problems persist -- I truly believe this is a due to the game, not the anti-virus programs I have, the firewalls, the system updates -- all these changes are beyond the reasonable expectation for anyone to have maintain. I'll be sure to check other game review sites to see how this problem escalates in the public domain as well.
