I have read sooooo many threads about "why the dev team can't fix this" or "why hasn't that been fixed yet" that I thought I would take the time to give all the people that work on this game an Adda-boy. Ora pat on the back, if you will.

99% of everyone who posts complain in some way, shape, or form.

I think if fixing some is as easy as posters say they are, they would've been fixed. I'm probably much older than most who post on here. In saying that, I'm not as tech savvy as most.

Hell, I just figured out a few acronyms that's common to everyone else

Could the dev team do more to improve the game? I dunno, probably. Are they working hard to improve it? I assume so.

People complain about how they (the devs I suppose) never read the posts or threads (or whatever). No wonder, most people belittle them and insult them. I've even read a few posts attacking an individuals real life personality. Would y'all read stuff like that constantly, over and over again. Day in and day out? No. C'mon be honest, you wouldn't.

I'm been playing this game for almost 2 1/2 years now. I will admit every now and than I had some log in issues, but they was pretty quick to fix that. Getting DCed was quiet annoying, but only happened 2-3 times a month. So not that big of a deal to me.

The only issue I have, as of now, is the position bug. And I'm positive they're trying to iron it out.

Well, this is my "good job" statement to staff

To lend perspective with this debate, some expectations are derived from the progress and problem-resolution of other games. For instance, the original Everquest went through technological changes and growing pains, but we should be able to expect DSO to be a little savvier than people were in the late 90's, and devs to quickly overcome issues that others resolved years ago.

This being said, I pay on a monthly basiis, have purchased Ander 2-3 times (not HUGELY in terms of $$$, but still), and like any other consumer product I might purchase, I expect the product to work properly.

Also, some expectations are derived from the outset. Imagine you try out a game of golf, you are told anecdotes about it, you work towards eventually accomplishing certain things, but at some point, somebody decides that a "hoel in one" is now no longer legal, or that golf will now be played like tennis, batting the bal lwith clubs. Upset is to be expected at that point, and the expectations crumble.

We invest time in "toon" development. We also invest (in my case and in many others) money. At some point, above and beyond the caveat of "in-game experience may change", if the game becomes unsatisfactory, there would be little or no problem if the "manufacturer" reimbursed me.

    Different points of view.

To be honest, I know very like about computers and stuff compared to most of y'all kids now a days.

Maybe I'm just raised old school, but I can't believe that DSO just sits around and BS with each other.

Maybe you're right Zarnak, maybe other games confronted the issues a long time ago. That brings up the question why has this game?

Like I said, I can't comprehend the fact that they "over look" all the bugs and issues.

I just came outta a 5v5 match and half the players was invisible. I was being ranged by players I couldn't see. Does DSO know this, I assume so. Hell, I don't know. I don't know the way these things work.

I just figure some positive reinforcement might be better than negative feedback.

I wish DSO would dedicate their next few updates towards fixing these bugs, and not draw the attention to events like the upcoming Desert of Essence. People don't like to play with buggy issues like position bug or the map issues where the outlines are missing. I know these bugs can be fixed, it's just a matter of when is the issue. I'll be deterred from buying another subscription if these issues continue to persist. I'm not complaining here, I just don't want to play something that makes me irritated especially if I'm paying. Devs, I believe in you to make something right for us all to play.

This is a very good idea, IMO. If you decide to do this, you may want to also take my suggestion of sending a letter to support to let them know why you are not re-subscribing. I wrote a thread about it, with a sample protest letter, here. (I don't know how long this thread will be allowed to stay posted.)

That's a good idea. I'll probably write my own version with my reasons for canceling. I like your thread on it, though not sure if people are willing to do all that. Good luck.

Yes, by all means you should write your own letter if you care to do so. I only provided the sample letter for those who did not want to invest too much time in the endeavor!

I must admit, I have definitely changed my outlook on the way the devs operate.

After a couple posts from Multi-sev, DesertKoala, and Baragain in a different thread, I dare say that more can be done to improve the situation with the few bugs that plague my game. Especially all the stuff DesertKoala posted in that other thread about the position bug. I have no clue what any of it means, but strangely enough y'all made sense.

Thanks, you three, for a little clarity

The thread in which I advocated to cancel premium and send a protest note to support was deleted. There is probably a fear that this would have happened enough to be a problem for their profits.

The position bug should not have persisted this long. I am convinced they could have fixed it long ago, but have chosen to drag their feet on purpose. Have any of you played a game where a severely annoying bug stayed in the code for two months? I haven't, until this one. They've found a way to increase their premium profits by doing nothing. Why should they fix it?

You already knew, that they would delete your post(you said it yourself).

Every time someone here speaks the truth, post a negative opinion or try to defend their own rights for being a P2P, those posts get always deleted.

Doesn't matter what says in the T&C, we members have no rights whatsoever in this forum/game...rules are meant to be broken, but not by us(members)....no, no its by BP's employees.

Yes, I knew they would delete it. We can protest as much as we want, but if our protests infringe on their profits we are silenced. I don't expect more from them, though; they never claimed this was a democracy. It is a corporate entity: a somewhat vicious one, as the ones that grow to a certain size all tend to be. It is an entity that will protect its survival no matter what it takes. In some sense, I don't blame them. But in another way, I do ;)

Yes. As the saying goes, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease." The only thing that giving up will do is assure us that our wishes will not be granted. If we keep trying, there is a chance things could change for the better.

I used to think like that, but not anymore!!!

In 2012 this game was awesome, amazing and very addictive:)!!!
In 2013 still pretty good, until GoP come along and with that all type of drops went down the drain, but the events made up for the loss of gear drop.
In 2014.........??? will someone please put me out of my misery, extremely low drop of all kind of stuff, 3 events only, no improvement ingame.

    I went from 8/12(2012) per day to 5 mins/1 hour(2014) per day!!!
I only login and do my daily quests and wait for events.
Farming for 3 hours, to get only 6 to 8 improved items...forget it, my farming days are over.

EDIT - I wrote "lose" instead of "loss"....sorry:oops:

I agree with all of that, 100%. But the only alternative is to stop: either stop playing or stop complaining and accept the ugliness of the game changes. I haven't decided to do either, yet, but I'm getting closer the more our pleas are ignored.

I have stopped complaining in the official threads(CM) or giving any type of feedback/report bugs due to the lack of respect, honesty, professionalism from DSO team.

But stopping completely is out of the question for the time being, I have invested too many hours of my life into this game.

If more players would do the same, perhaps things might change in a near future.
Well...i have time on my side, so....lets see what the future holds for us!!!

Yeah, completely agree too. I played actively in 2011 and 2012, there was just so much new stuff every month and the game felt fresh. I finally stopped playing in November 2013. I'm now just reading the forums and waiting...

Yes, it used to be fun. Now, it's the never-ending Khalys-killing and waiting for something new (long wait).

I started playing in early 2012 and it was awesome. So much to do and events came regularly. I don't think I'll ever stop playing, but I will stop my membership if all this crap keeps up.
