    The only thing they can do is use their faces on NPCs.

    I experienced that as well - very annoying if you have bad luck and don't want to accept the result, actually.
    The items should remain on the workbench until we take a decision!

    Of course ... there need to be some kind of "locking" before accepting the item.

    How about this idea.

    You need 5 greens to craft a blue. You place you green you want 5o upgrade on the now results box. You place 4 other identical items on the left.

    You hit craft. The one Stat on the green stays and a new random Stat comes. you can hit revert but you only get the green back the other 4 items are gone. This way we don't get stats we don't want on the next item we are only getting randomly generated stats. a for legendary it is the same craft 4 into one that takes all enhancments. But I really doubt people will use this method.

    Then people would be writing into support that they got a perfect item out, but it disconnected before they could accept it. :p
    Just like how I "got Heredur's shield last night, but I got a nebula before I could pick it up," if you know what I mean.

    I'm just playing devil's advocate. I agree with this, but the truth is that people will complain/attempt to exploit it either way.

    If all items remained on the workbench until we deliberately take out EITHER the result OR the ingredients, that would be no problem.
    When you relog after D/C, you go back to the workbench and redeem either your stored crafting result or you click on revert.
    I am aware this would probably mean a major code change, but I think it's the only fair solution.

    No they won't ... some kind of "meta-item" can be created ... it can be used only at workbench. You cant sell, melt, discard, equip ... etc ... it will only be usable at workbench where you can proceed ... until you press "accept". it will be added to your inventory as soon as you leave the workbench without accepting the item.

    Why would it be hard to code? You only need to save the items in the database and delete them after accepting the final item.
    It won't be using much storage space because with every revert it gets destroyed too. It will only save the data upon pressing "combine" button.

    It seems like the better an idea is the lest likely that it will actually be implemented and the devs must have some excuse.

    That is because they are hired guns. They have no passion nor vision for the game.
    They are simply working for the paycheck.
    The other reason is they must obey their bosses ... which are even more clueless.

    After first news about interesting game changer, in the end we are getting a system for destroying your items with exceptional statistics. Big lottery with very small chance, and you really HAVE TO take the destruction risk if you want to have some chance for getting nice item.

    So, HERE WE GO, if you happen to have big amount of gold, and you dont know what to do with it - now you can pay for DESTROYING SPECIAL ITEMS.
