    Same here!
    [EDIT] still bleeding from trying to kill a fire gnome - ander troll duo on painful... so thanks to your scaling wushu I'll stick to normal mode.
    Harder modes are still unpractical with +1,+2... to drops, even if you made them x2, x3... it still wasn't optimal with your current scaling skills (i.e. random champions).
    Now using your pickaxes on geodes is a total waste.
    Neat amphoras are a nice touch tho...
    "Community Edition"? Yeah right...

    I agree all of it above. Challenge 1 is ok but big boss drop only 1 event progress or not at all.

    Admiral Creeper shouldn't be present in this challenge anyway XD
    So ... it is a extra items and infernal frags drop.

    "Communy version", yeah...
    Community asked for more pickaxe... before we got 4-5 per runs, now we get 7 so... yeah... it's improved a lot...

    Then we asked for a drop balance based on the difficulties we play... so, talking about PAINFULL mode, we get 2 pure viscanium instead of 1, 6 insead of 5.... 12 impure opposing to the 11 of mod1... consider that (how some player in this thread has already said), minibosses are like PWs fatal minis...
    Well, I can admit that this has been fairly balanced...

    Last but not least, community asked to nerf impure viscanium dropped by minibosses that spawns opening viscanium geodes, from 50 to 1/11/51... no, wait... NONE asked for it to get nerfed, so what in the world made you even think to nerf it?! -.-


    In the end... it's still quite more doable than the last event... but... don't call it "community version" 'cause DsO community isn't totally made of [EDIT] people...

    Well, I have to say that the main progress is easier-ish...
    but only because the challenges require 10x more farming, because now it takes 4-8 runs on viscanium to get one run on steamship.
    And steamship is only worth playing on painful, which means if you're a RA soloing, the bosses are hell on earth (they 2-3 hit kill you).
    And by my estimate, it takes 15-20 runs to finish each challenge.

    I will say, however, that i have 15 poison potions stocked up already, which is better than last event, which means 2nd challenge is going to be slightly easier.

    I don't understand all that whining.
    The event drops are looking pretty decent to me ... I can farm amphora keys and progress with the event without spending pickaxes.
    Why would anyone want impure viscanium from those minions?
    If you are opening the rocks ... and follow these rules:

    You don't have to spawn more than one minion anyway.

    Those who have more time to play the event can play in my way ... without spending pickaxes. That way you are getting 70-90 progress per run (which is more than 2,5 times then the old event version ... before the nerfed edition).

    Challenges are giving more progress drops and infernal fragments. The average drop in painful is 200-230 viscanium drops ... and that is more than decent drop.
    You can follow my recommendation at wiki and play in the best way:

    Play the event and challenges in Painful mode. It is the best way. That way you can clear the maps fast and get good loot.
    ATM I am at 1400 event progress and 35 amphorae keys ... only with moderate playing (2-3 hours per day).

    Your advice is appropriate ... for true end-gamers. Those of us with less than 6 months at level 50 cannot kill Leader/Champion mobs in Painful, at least not efficiently. On Normal, I'm ~60% of the way through Mini-Challenge #1, and, with the exception of one run in which I skipped about 15% of the mobs, completely cleared out the main Viscanium Mine map before heading into Steamship Harbor. After 20 runs without opening a single geode, I have 490 progress plus 250 worth of progress in unrefined Impure Viscanium in my Locker (haven't decided whether to try to complete main event progress bar or just the minis, so may save that IV for next iteration of DDH). That's 37 progress per run (again, without geodes). You're saying you get 2.5 x that much progress in Painful? Really?

    Are you getting fabulous luck with the barrels? I've had 50+1 dropped a total of 3 times over those 20 runs. From neat amphorae, the most I've dropped is 30 IV a few times ... usually, I get no IV or 10.

    There just aren't enough rocks dropping 6 instead of the 5 I get to make up the difference between our two results.

    Are you sure you're not picking up IV from PVE map farming and lumping that into your calculations for event map farming?

    As for Steamship Harbor, I'm getting between 100-130 progress per run, with a low of ~80 (I get so excited when I see a 10x progress drop :)). Again, are you sure you're getting literally twice the drop rate, or are you overestimating your results?

    In painful? 200-250 is normal for a single run, no inflation necessary.

    Sorry, I thought that Normal was implied as I'd indicated I can't run Painful.

    How large are the Viscanium Drop drops on Painful? I'm getting 1x, 3x, 5x and (very rarely) 10x on Normal.

    Easiest just to open 2 geodes, the one when coming to look for jullov from entrance, and the other near main mini boss. Those 2 always contains progress, no minions..

    With that style also get's a lot of axes & u only spend 2 axes / run. And no need to kill 2 small minions (especially with 8500 contraception pills in bag :p )

    Since most drops are the lowest, that is esentially double the rate for the lowest drops. The higher ones don't benefit as much because the drops are all just +1 and not +100%.

    This is the correct advice and the best way to use the pickaxes. The best compromise between used axes and saved ones.
    Because Geodes drop table doesn't change with modes scale and those minions were the best way to get the most out pickaxes when you were in group.
    The minions with a 5 members party were dropping 12,5 pure viscanium per axe (50 impure viscanium x5) compared to the 4 pure viscanium that you get when you use em in solo and was the only thing worth to group.

    If you have summed the chance to get better pure viscanium and better drops when grouped in higher difficults, it would have made this event doable in groups and in higher mods but their nerf made the event better to be done in solo and in normal... as the last one and as too many events so far.

    Well done and thanks for adding the amphorae.

    Please start the first mini later into the event. As there isn' t enough time to farm sufficient burners. So unless you're lucky enough to have some left over from last time it's almost impossible to complete.

    Also please make the brown satchels easier to see on the ground. Maybe give them some glow or glint. This issue obviously isn't limited to this event.
    We also need auto pick-up! Why would you not want to pick these up?!

    No improvement on frequency of Jullov appearances over last time. Please increase these. Maybe 20-25% of the time he could appear in a random barrel, rather than the same one?

    One impure viscanium from a minion is an insult and waste of a pickaxe.

    Why in the "community edition" edition, you also nerf the burner drop rate ? ( from 10 to 6 )

    Map 1 Mod 1 from 4 test runs today:
    12 PickAxes(PA) for 93 Progress
    72 PA for 153 Progress if you count 50 PA for the "Chop Chop " quest needed for the "more festive amphora" (which also goes in mod 1 with 2x Draken)

    other PA Drops and Jullow are random so i left them out


    imo for the general player it's worth using the PAs to open the geodes unless you can farm Mod 3 or 4

    Are you referring to mini-event challenge in Steamship Harbor, or main event progress in the Viscanium Mine itself? On Normal in Steamship Harbor, the worst I did was ~80 progress, the most ~140, with the average around 120 per run.

    As for the main event progress, in my earlier post when I calculated my forgot about the daily packs which give 40 free Pure Viscanium.

    Backing those out, and valuing the Impure Viscanium I still have in my locker/backpack at 200/10, I've made exactly 800 progress so far on the main event. For most of my Mini-Event Challenge runs in Steamship Harbor, I did a full Viscanium Mine clearning run first, but the last 4 Mini-Event runs I skipped 70% of the map. I estimate I've done the equivalent of 30 full Viscanium Mine clearing runs, killing everything, opening every rock and every net amphora, but skipping all true amphorae and all geodes: That works out to only 27 progress per run on Normal mode without using pickaxes or amphora keys.

    I still don't see how Traki can possibly get 3x the amount of progress on Painful that I'm making on Normal. There aren't enough +1 drops to make up the difference, unless the drop table is more heavily weighted toward max rewards (more 50+1+1 barrels, more Pure Viscanium drops from Trolls, more 30 IV drops from neat amphorae, more Pure Viscanium rather than 5+1 IV drops from rocks [do rocks drop 1+1 Pure Viscanium in Painful?], etc.).

    The number of chances is the same, right? ~Same number of Trolls. Exactly the same number of rocks. Exactly the same number of neat amphorae. The only variable is number of barrels. I'm just not seeing how 70-90 progress per run is possible.

    yeah was meaning main map, wasn't about for mini after 1 run where I got 93 progress
