AND yet again, my Norton keeps removing drakensangonline.exe as it says it is an unsafe file lol. Also removes a java file needed for the game n3dllwrapper too lol.
So dear DSO/BP, are you really unsafe for my computer?
Is it too much to ask that you get in touch with Norton/Symantec and keep them updated too every time you update your game software?
I hate playing the thin client as it is jumpy and laggy, browser is perfect, well, maybe not as my Norton hates you apparently. I do not hate you DSO, so maybe you can make nice with Norton and we can all get along.

This is odd. I have seen posts like this before but I have been using Norton Security Suite for years and it has never caused a problem with playing DSO for me.

I just looked thru all my settings and I have my protection set pretty high but I dot not have any exceptions/permissions just for DSO.

It is interesting that when I checked the trusted files it does give n3dllwraper.dll a poor rating but it is not blocking or deleting it. This does make me wonder if it is more of a Java problem.

Btw, I use Chrome as my browser which does have some security of its own.

Strange voodoo. I hope they get this sorted for you.

    Luck be with ye,
    Mikey,
    Tegan

I had to make an exception for the drakensang exe file in my Norton settings, but after a week or 10 days, Norton decides dso is bad for me, maybe it's a sign to stop playing lol.
Yeah Java has always been tweaky with the game on browser, but I keep it updated and cache cleared etc as often as possible.
Last time I had the n3dll issue, i uninstalled Java, cleared my registry, reinstalled java and it worked for about a month and a half, til Norton says it's a boo boo and then it all starts going south. :)

Heard a few reports of antivirus suddenly being mean to the game, I'll have a word with the Managers tomorrow to see what I can find out. (its out of office hours just now)

Programmers are looking into reproducing this and seeing what they can do.

This is getting really stupid fast. Now Norton refuses to run drakensangonline.exe at all. I can restore it from quarantine, I can check TRUSTED on it, I can sacrifice a virgin at the Norton Altar of Madness and every time I try to run browser, "Drakensangonline.exe is bad, file removed".
So like a genius last night I was trying to set allowances in the uber-complicated admin area of Norton and ended up losing thin client use....ME NO HAPPY!!! THEN all of a sudden I lost my internet .....(insert a LOT of bad words followed by many exclamation points here)
Oh and since I have Premiere Norton, I am supposed to get service when I need it...NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, no one available in INDIA at all where they work for these companies, a land of millions of support service personnel and not one could help me as they apparently ALL disappeared in some kind of Nirvanic Rapture.
SO I gave up, poured a GIANT glass of 18 yr old scotch and went to bed.
I'll bet your programmers are smart enough NOT to use Norton, so I doubt they can reproduce this.

I just spent an hour with Norton remote assistance. They located the .exe file for me, I couldn't find it to save my life btw, and put it on the download insight exclusion list and now game works via browser again.
I received an odd email from BP customer support telling me to "Uninstall your Norton product", and that was it. Yeah sure I'm going to uninstall my internet security I paid over $300 for. Bad response from support and generally they are extremely helpful.

Mail from TGC rep. Won't copy and paste it here, just was surprised at the short abruptness of it. And whatever support deals with Tegan so assuming EN.

Oh, sorry Darth, um actually it's deep imbedded, I tried to follow the clicks the tech was doing but he was clicking everything so fast I lost track and couldn't write it all down. Have Norton remote assist you and they'll track it down, just make sure you tell them the exact filename and it needs to be excluded from download insight.
Unless someone here knows how to reach the drakensangonline.exe file.
