Desert of Ess "Feedback"

Hi guys,

I'm a bit disappointed with the event!!!
Don't get me wrong, this event is awesome and i can't stop playing it....
...but the loot for gear is very low, + only 1 CoT(not drop, amount)

Also, I finished the event in 3 runs!!! it took me less than 1 hour.
I haven't got the whole set yet, but finishing it so fast is stupid and unrewarding, so few Drakens, no quests to do.

Whats the point of having a 10 day event, if old players can finish it in less than 1 hour???
I'm not saying to increase the difficulty, no...the event is tough enough, I had a very hard time killing the "Red Boss", but the progress bar should have been bigger, like 9000 and with more rewards + quests.

Much more fizzle than sizzle. Payoffs are lame. Pigs don't work. No Jullov. Weak gear, ok to use for some players, but only worth melting for the advanced.
But so little gear and essences for the time invested! Ocean of Bones is better farming for glyphs; most maps give better supplies. You'd think an entire Desert of Essences would have a lot more essence drops!
It was a refreshing change of pace from rest of game, but 10 days is a long time to burn out. Still, occasional players should get a chance to finish. Groups can pool summoning resources to get more drops.

 

One of the most easiest events ever.I find it awesome, i disagree when you say that there are few drakens and the gear is weak.Drakens are 500 almost including quests, it's fine, just we relaxed and played a different event that this one of new or full moon.I didn't spend many essences, only 5k blue and 1k red for the boss and i finished it.

Yeah well, this an event and not a farming place, but i agree that the loot is very weak...after all this is an event about "ess", every mini-boss + main boss should drop their respective color ess.

As for the set, I love it...with one exception, it should have more bonus per item and not just one.
I won't use it on my lvl 45, for me the "Dark set" is better...but i will save it in my locker, for my lvl 8 and 34 there is nothing better than this one.

I thought that there weren't any quests after the one that "Mina" gives us, but i was wrong, because there is a bug, if you accept the re-quest from Mina, the others don't give any quests, 1st finish Mina's quest and don't accept the re-quest, talk to the others and accept the quest and only then can you accept Mina's re-quest.

Also like Darwarren said, many "Piggy's" don't work, all i hear is "grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr", this sucks!!! I WANT MY PIGGY

 

The lame part:

Finishing the progress bar in less than 3 full runs was a tad disappointing. Loads of white gear items, barely any ess, cot or coin drops. The stats for the red gear is low compared to other event gear. Once again an event needing keys to open chests without the ability to earn/win them.

The better part:

The fact that you can get through the map rather quickly. Lot of mobs, good amount of mini bosses. Defending Jullov was easy enough and popped up pretty frequently. Draken rate is okay for the event, although if the progress bar would have reflected the 10 day event instead of 3 runs, it would have been better.

The best part:

Calling the main bosses. A guaranteed drop of at least something (see lame part about stats). Didn't require a ton of ess to get through it. Adding the red ess to the progress bar was a nice touch.


Overall it's not a horrible event, but some thought needs to be put into the progress bar and some adjustments need to be made on gear stats. The new map "thing" wears off quickly when you don't have the chance at gaining some good gear.

 

What I also found dumb was that if someone died in group and exited and re-entered while fighting a boss, the boss' HP would reset. This is cheap practice, and not cool. My guild mates who have played the last DoE event said this hadn't happened last time. I am somewhat disappointed with how short the event is. Completed it in 3 runs (could have done it in 2).

This set is very powerful for boss killing, with correct crit and crit dam build. With maximal stats, it can give 200+ dam bonus easily

 

This happens in the moon events. Your group should agree ahead of time what happens with a player death.

Event is reasonable. Already completed progress bar for my DK, halfway through with my dwarf. Have all the legendary gear for the DK. Yeah, there should be more essence drops. At the very least, the end color boss should drop some essence.

 

The drops seem to be getting better each day in the map part, but the bosses are still frozen in cheap hell. Most people have burnt through their realm frags, and most find that a full set of 1 color is still out of reach. Why should it take a 100 runs to get a full set of gear? Are some parts disabled?
The special quests for each of the beserkers is nested in the body count/ration quest for the whole map; you can't even take a color quest, without opening the screen for the primary quest giver. If you close the first quest giver, before taking the draken quest from another quest giver, you lose your chance until the first quest is completed again. (Isn't that special in a really special way?)
I couldn't find a special quest for the red boss at all.
It worked better last year.

It was not my intent to merely finish the event, my purpose was to farm it. I got 468 extra draken from the special quests and such, but after that it is hardly productive for glyphs or draken, or uniques, or quality gear. Unfortunately that leaves days where it will be competing for players.

I kinda know what'cha mean man. I am currently doing the draken event to kill the violet berserker. Kill him 7 times and didn't get a single heart. I gotta start farming cores and shards again. IF I get that 50 draken not sure if I'm gonna try for the others if this one is that much of a strain to get.

 

I being a new player, (less than 2 month under his belt), thought my perspective on the event might differ from that of the old timers....
It was something fresh, something new that has kept me playing and actually came at a time when I was getting board with dying all the time around lvl 40 in the PW (parallel world)... The armour pieces are sweet and seemed to have benifitted my toons play alot. Now those enveloping orbs? I am unsure what the little floating bone things actually do, although they do look cool.
I do enjoy the color coded level areas. I ran a few solo runs to see just how far I could get. In doing so, it allowed me to push my gameplay to it's limits. Making me try different attack sequences to see which was the stronger/weaker...
I find, the event also makes all those people that wouldn't give you the time of day a week ago and called you a noob with every question you asked ... are now more than willing to group up to make runs with you.
In closing, I just wish to thank my guild "SilentInsanity" and the "Triangle" Guild which are both full of nice English speaking players who are willing to help "us noobs" as well as the developing team for a nice event... I cannot judge this event to another, seeing how this is my first ... So this one is all good by me.

 

It's nice to hear a new, upcoming player enjoy the game. I have to admit though, the event is great and came at a good time. Whether the Devs planned it that way, I'm not sure.

Plunderpigge, don't get to discouraged buddy. This game will take you to the edge as far as the bugs and lag and glitches. And it'll probably be months before another event comes. If I'm not mistaken it's been 4 months since the last event.

As many have stated, we completed this event in a matter of hours. But it is refreshing to hear the new players enjoying it.

And it's important to get into a good guild. Tons of information is needed to fully get engulfed in the game. A couple weeks ago we got a new player in our guild that was lvl 40 as well. Been playing for about 2 months also. Didn't know he needed realm frags for event lol. Glad I caught that in time.

Mind if I ask what server you're on?

 

and the 1 COT drops, really wth is up with that?!! this is the stuff that is making me and so many others angry abot this game and the Devs. it is just insulting to spend money and get this crap in return. come on pull your heads out...

Hey guys, today i discovered a new bug/glitch, but in a good way...I have a low lvl DK just for PvP, but because of the event he is lvl 17, still haven't got the whole set so, he will grow a bit more

I'm after the purple set, the red boss is too strong for my DK, I already have 3 items....I just need the "armor" piece and today i went to kill the purple boss and try to complete my set, so....I killed him 5 times and on my 4th kill, I thought that my search has ended, because he dropped the armor piece, but when i opened my inventory to see the stats...I couldn't find the purple armor, I started to swear big-time...a few mins later, I notice that i had a legendary armor instead of a purple

Yes the purple boss drop a red item, how cool is that!!!
All i need now is to cross my fingers and hope he drops more red items to complete the set
