Dks and their woes in 2019 and a set that will fix it for them

    Well, I have to bump and make this discussion a bit harder because those calcs are useless because:

    Concept itself is wrong and if you want to one class strength depends on the set's buffs ... again (q7), thanks but no thanks. That's not very "wide" solution.

    Skill tree is where they have to adjust values.

    For example, DKs have 2 or 3 rage % chances (2/3 pts) - let them replace one with break armor % chance .. etc.

    Maybe all that's needed is DK skills rollback, but naah, not gonna happen.

    I like to reread as I tend to rush through things
    Let me show you your logic quick
    This would be what you call total skill damage:
    Yes it was modified, whether it was a multiplication or added or deducted it would still = total skill damage in %
    It does not have to IMPLY ANYWHERE that it does.
    So your excuse for wanting the fs to do more damage is because the talent is added damage and not multiplied damage.
    But its a skill talent, its not a skill <- show me a single item in dso that increases the the damage of a skill and a talent at the same time.

    The increased damage is based on a state aka an ailment.
    Let me explain:
    Skill was modified -> then ailment state was applied then damage was adjusted according to the current damage of the skill.
    My set skill and % skill damage increase.
    lets not use frozen sphere or smash as an example but this exact given sigris set and ice missile.
    the set lets a ice missile do 30% of your base <- if you applied my set ice missile would still only do 30% of your base.
    let me show you why:
    you use my set:
    93.75% base
    but then sigris happens

    and can trigger effects...
    Such as ailments.
    and my set clearly states: per critical hit increases skill damage by 2.5%


    Yes, a much easier and welcome solution would be to boost dks.
    smash 250% base
    and bloody wild swing 2 points talent per successful hit has 33% chance to break 25% armor would be perfect
    EDIT:
    If we buffed dks on only those 2 skills the set too would be a lot more justifiable for all classes.

    I hate interfering, but there have been plenty of edits and warnings, yet this thread, which is supposed to be a suggestion, continuously gets out of hand. Please be so kind to leave out all the personal problems you have with each other and state your opinions politely, learning to agree to disagree. This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated, and if you go on like this, the thread will be closed.

    Keep in mind that everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and you all have to respect each other.

    I dont want FS to deal more damage - im just explaining to you how it will work if it would be implemented.

    You refuse to listen and, honestly, this leads nowhere - I gave up for a while, came back and the cycle repeats.

    Good luck on your endeavours and dont forget I agreed that PvE wise DKs need a slight buff.

    Upon which you chose to boost q7 knowing very well I am a q4 user and knowing very well that all dks deserve a boost not any given % of them but all.

    You're deliberately ignoring what I said earlier just to keep spreading your personal vendetta.

    You can't change base skill %ages or talents for a very simple to understand reason - it affects BOTH PvE AND PvP.

    You are simply unable to look at the game as a whole that's why what you're suggesting is not only wrong but super unhealthy for the game in the long run.
    When using your logic Q4 SWs deserve a buff as well cause they are much weaker than BM or Q7.

    You're generalizing SWs while trying to split DKs into small groups or split SWs into small groups and generalize DKs - only when it's convenient for you and fits your agenda.

    What represents the class is how effective their most efficient build is. Q4 or Emilia SWs are much weaker than BM or Q7 SWs - does that mean Q4 or Emilia SWs deserve buffs? Does that mean SW as a class deserves buffs? No, and it's exactly the same in case of DKs.

    Their most effective build is based on Q7 which huge majority is using exactly how SW most effective build is based on BM.

    Buffing Q7 means that the majority of DKs will be buffed PvE-wise.
    Buffing base smash means that all DKs will be buffed equally not only preserving the gap between Q7 and Q4 but messing with PvP balance as well - is there anything good coming out of this? Imho not.

    I'm glad you're fighting but you're on the wrong battlefield.

    Even if your suggestion of "buff base smash to 250%" goes through:

    - Q7 DPS would be hovering near 2000% average
    - Q4 DPS would be hovering near 1500% average

    while SW is 1722%.
    Is that what you want?

    Now let's go even further and assume your Q4 suggestion (25% --> 50%) goes through as well:

    - Q7 2000%
    - Q4 1785%

    And that's while you completely wreck PvP balance and Q7 is still superior (now it's 1684% Q7 to ~1300% Q4).

    I tried to explain to you what's bad and how stuff works and failed miserably cause you simply refuse to listen, jump between arguments, constantly switch topics, constantly switch your ideas, constantly switch your goals and paths to them.
