drop rates

There are multiple threads about drop rates, and DSO uses some form of a random number generator to determine drops (all these types of games do). However, even though I agree that some players are luckier than others, no one player or group of players "deserves" better luck.

If everyone had the same "luck" that would take the fun out of the game. Before you complain, I'm not one of the lucky ones either. I've gotten 1 ring out of all my boss runs. All I get are useless legs that get melted. I'm still waiting for Herald's shield, keens boots/gloves, and a host of other uniques items for achievement progress that the rng gods have yet to bestow on me.

 

2 1/2 hours of low key farming got me 16 to 20 cubes yesterday, thanks to the latest free premiun code (mostly q3 runs at painful). Even better, my dk got one simple ruby and one splintered ruby and 2 simple diamonds (at the 25% off price, 1156 anders worth of gems).

Blue essence drops did not seem unusual. I did get 4 legendaries, give or take. 1 even went into my dk's locker stash (a 3x crit, 1x crit damage adornment for about 655 crit, 8.7% crit dam, and 3 slots), although I am still hunting for that a 4x crit adornment with >800 crit.

 

I've melted a couple of those. Mine was 830 at 50 and now is over 1000 at 54... haven't seen anything better yet despite getting 2 or 3 800+ since.

I hear you on the uniques problem though. I've played a long time and there are still a bunch of boss uniques and world uniques that I want as a collector, but Lady Luck had not seen fit to bless me with those items.
