Hi, so I'm trying to find an English server to play on, I started yesterday and I've tried both of the US servers, I'm now trying the EU servers. Should I just not play this game?

There are no English only servers but Agathon has the most English speaking players.

You can find English speaking players at all servers. Language should not be barrier.

Playing from early evening onwards (EST) is best time on Agathon, I think.

There are English-typing players in Heredur and Tegan (the servers I play). You just have to be weary of time zones. I'm a rotating shift worker (meaning my hours are all over the place... yay ER -_-;; ) so that issue is non-existent for me.

Geographically I'm based on Canadian west coast so I go on Tegan for that reason, but you got to be careful because there's also a huge player base of players typing in Spanish, Tagalog, and Malay (apparently plenty of players geographically located in SEA go on that server).

However, I accidentally joined Heredur first (bloody gPotato defaulted me on that server when I was new) and though there are enough players who know English to get by, you also get a complete mix of other languages such as French, German, Italian, and Cyrillic in there)

I can understand enough French and Spanish to scrape by basic conversation so that's why I don't mind Heredur if I have to communicate outside of English, but technically most players understand English in Tegan server... whether they genuine choose to use English to communicate is another story.

Slightly off-topic, I guess it's a customary thing, but I get called often by male SEA players on Tegan server "bro" when it's facepalming clear in username and conversation that I'm a girl and fessed it ain't cool. If they substitute 'bro' with 'sis' or even 'dude' (hinted the decade I grew up in), I find it somewhat less annoying. That's probably why I'm more selective accepting group invites or general chat on Tegan than Heredur.

    --MERGED--

Ha ha ha, I beg to differ in some of the PuG groups I've been in the Heredur server. I've been randomly sucked into full groups where each player don't understand one another (literally different language proficiency per person) and the only way we get by were obvious one word commands with emotes and following whoever has the star (which gets passed around for fairness, I suppose). Even if it's not intentionally a barrier, language can be a major struggle and a guessing game if it's too wide of a gap.
