Game Disconnects

Yes, as the title says, it keeps disconnecting for brief periods of time(2-3 sec)> this happens every 5 minutes almost regularly. Checked my router settings again, disabled ALL antiviruses and firewalls. Checked my internet connection with pingtest.net. According to it, my internet connection is Grade A.
This started today, after the marvellous 122 patch.

As I often ask when someone tells us that they are having issues... What of the troubleshooting steps found HERE have you completed?

 

Ah.. yes. Every one of them. And just as I suspected, nothing solved the problem.

 

As the user _Baragain_ mentioned in another thread, PingTest.net can be unreliable to diagnose a transient issue. If you have perfect connection 99% of the time and that is when you perform the test, then your connection will look fine when it may not be. Also, PingTest.net tests to a local server, not the Drakensang game server.

If this happening as regularly as you say, keep the command "ping -t SERVER.drakensang.com" (replacing "SERVER" with the server you play on), running in the background on your command prompt while you play. It may slow things down a little, but it will let you see what happens when you disconnect and if you are still able to ping the game server. To exit the continuous ping test, press "CRTL-C" and that will allow you to examine the data gathered.

 

I have the same issue - Nothing from your "solution/fix" is working. I can't even log in at times....

 

Then the same would go for you. When you are having your connection issues, see if you can ping the game server while attempting to connect so that you can see if you can communicate with the game server. Another thing to try is seeing if this happens on both the browser and the client.

 

3 times tonight lost connection one after the other same place (Gleaming Mountains), half way... Don't want to hear about cleaning cache, history, Antivirus,3 firewalls all that..
Only started happening after this update... This isn't the only game i play so it has nothing to do with the ping..

While it may not be related to high pings, ping is still very useful for diagnosing the location of the issue along with a tracert. When I ask for pings because of connection issues, it is not because I suspect high pings. It is because I suspect that communications might drop between the game server and the user during these disconnects. Once this is confirmed or not, the next step would be to examine a tracert during one of these disconnects in an attempt to find where on the route the issue pops up.

This is beginning to move beyond the scope of the forums and into the realm of Support. The steps I mentioned above help diagnose where the issue is occurring, but do little to solve any issues that are found. If the Technical FAQ did nothing for your issues (along with time and resets), then your best bet is to contact Support and see if they can assist you further.

 

Incidentally there was a problem with my router. A loose cable from DSL (and yes the internet connection worked flawlessly for short periods of time, then it droped for 1 second, and back to it). Fixed the problem concerning the in game disconnecting. But there is still some problem with logging in. I have to try several times before it connects to server. I am inclined to think that the server is overloaded.

 

Glad that part of your issue is corrected. I think you may want to check with Support on the login issue.

 

well release 123 is another bust!! Now i can't log in to the game at all! fix the problems please! I am not the only one on agathon that has been having trouble. 122 was a terrible release and 123 is even worse. I feel that you are going to loose a lot of people if you do not fix the bugs.

 

Check your internet connection, not just with ping test, and upload/download tests. You must use something that also uses continuous data flow, like drakensang does. For that I would suggest another game (ie.Dota2, or another online game). The internet might seem working, when using regular applications, but if it crashes during games, then u have a "transient fault" problem (short duration connection drops).
How to solve: If you have wi/fi adaptors, move closer to the router, or replace with a cable (best solution -always- for gamers). If you choose to stay with the wifi, and the signal is good but you still have problems, Make sure the router doesn't switch between radio channels, go to your router page (ie. 10.1.1.1, or 192.168.1.1) and from your wlan settings choose a channel (ie.:3) instead of Auto.
If you still have problems:
The cables and outlets might not be tied together very well. Check them yourself, try replacing some cables, or the outlet itself might have problems. Some might be easily repaired, for some you might need to call your ISP.

 

i have the same issue at heredur server as i switch map i got dc and nothing is wrong with my internetconnection have done it all that says many players have this issue so pls check into it asap as we all pay preem and and for this game best regards patrioten

 

I encountered this problem since patch 124.
Every time i changed map, disconneted and i clicked the reconnection button, and it was ok.Didn't feel wrong about that until i started pvp.
Every time i got a 3v3 contest,disconneted and reconnected then i found myself in the rest room in 3v3 the first round,every time!
1v1 and 6v6 was better, i just waited and waited and waited.

 

ever since 124 and now with 125, frequently when I enter maps, or teleport, I get disconnected and have to log back in. This happens with the thin client and the regular internet game. never happened before 124 and nothing on my computer has changed. Java was updated once during this time, but I don't need java on the thin client. After this update, the thin client didn't prompt me to install a new version either.

 

I'm having the exact same problem as DarthTyphoid, and it starting to get really annoying.
