I'm a low level and just want to know when gear becomes important

 

Gear become important after lvl 30...go for pink after 30...My story belive i lvl up to 40 only using white items not even green and now i have 12k of crystals i can open any unique at lvl 42(my current lvl) so if you can do this way its good

 

if you ask me then go for the pink or blue gear if your also doing pvp and pve for exp together and if your only pvp-ing then i would suggest either become full pink or orange(legendary) or if your doing only pve for exp then at least go for the green , white would be too weak or maybe go for the blue at least

 

Look at it this way: fewer CoT spent on identifying items before reaching max level means more for identifying endgame items. You will most likely sell/melt all the lower level items you had once you identify lvl 45 legendary items, so try to reach lvl 45 while using as few CoT as possible. If you feel that monsters are getting too strong try changing tactics or, if that fails, identify only weapon and weapon decoration. This will help you kill mobs faster so they don't have enough time to kill you. Defensive items provide a small boost to your survivability compared to how much offensive items improve your attack.

 

I have pink gear should I just sell it?

 

No, melt it when you replace it with something better. Glyphs become very important at LVL 45 and you can never have too many glyphs.
