I wish DSO would let us send gifts to friends like the non combative items like emotes and companions and mounts(not the pvp mounts tho) and costumes(same here no pvp costumes)

you see guys my girlfriend her birthday is coming this december and i want to give her a surprise on that day... so ive been thinking of what to give for her and i came up with this idea... you see guys she always wanted the dog companion and antonia's glamorous gown for a long time and its my humble request for you guys to let us buy them from the merchant or any other possible way for just one day... i could buy them with andermants or i could even buy them from outside by direct payment... please guys consider this request from a customer and i always spend good money on this game... so please i want to give her this on her special day.... her birthday is december 2nd and you guys have abt 3 months to develope code for this... i hope and wish you guys can make it

I think this is an awesome idea, there has been plenty of times I would like to do something for a another player. This is a global game and I have made some really amazing friends here, however it would not be practical to send card or gifts to Mexico or Outer Mongolia. I know I am not alone in this, it is a very social game.

To give a Christmas present, a birthday present, a thank you gift or a "battle arena was very painful" gift would be a real incentive for me to buy more ander or spend my gold.

I appreciate something like this could be abused, I would certainly suggest that the items not be of use in a way that could benefit or better a toon. It could me costumes, mounts and emotes.

The other person should also have the ability to decline the offer of a gift. I would also suggest a limit on the number of gifts you can give to a person per month perhaps?

I think this is an outstanding idea and very surprised that there is nothing like this currently in the game.

To me this sounds a bit too much like trading. Even though it is just emotes, costumes and such. Some people put a kind of honor in having all emotes, that would be messed up if the items became tadeable.

And then there is 1 little problem... 3 months isn´t nearly enough for BP to develop this kind of simple thing! XD
Unless you wan´t the server to chrash for a half week, you should give them more time :p

And come on, how many trading/gift threads are we at now? When do people realise that such a thing won´t happen?

Firstly, I agree that there are some people that want to have all the emotes or all the costumes or all the mounts. What's so wrong with this? If DSO benefit with players purchasing ander or playing more to farm gold/ander what's the harm? As Prakash mentioned in his previous post, putting a time limit on such things might be a solution or limiting how many gifts a player can send? I think that the Riverdance is a great example of a emote with a time limit, trust me I danced my brains out and loved every minute of it!

Secondly, 3 months.. Well if it takes longer fair enough, I would hope if DSO implemented such things that it would be done well and not lead to issues.

Lastly, how many threads, I personally haven't counted them?? My thoughts are, if it's what people are asking for or requesting why not take it seriously? The more threads / requests the more notice might be taken - don't you think? Never say never.

I say keep up the good work Prakash :)

Most of the threads opened for trading system are from users with 1 or 2 postings on forum. Isn't that odd?
And the vast majority of players are against any kind of trading in this game.
If you have been reading these threads ... they said "trading will never be implemented in this game".

prakash1 girls doesn't want emotes and costumes .... $$$$$$$$ are the best present for a birthday. :D

Trading and Gifting are just variations on the same attempt to exploit the game economy. It would be a disaster. On top of that, you would be able farm low level items using low level toons and gift them back over to a high level toon. Remember the boot and rings in Grim? My God, I could write a novel on the ways this would destroy the game economy.

If you 'truly' want to gift a friend, buy them a Gift Card. There, fixed.

I am not a huge poster right now in the forums, but I like to read interesting topics and I enjoy reading other peoples ideas.
People should be encouraged to post ideas, this is after all a community board for DSO to monitor the mood of the community and responses should be structured to provide constructive feedback.

Regardless of how many times topics similar to this have been discussed, games change and evolve.

I reread Prakashs comments and my own, and there was no mention of the items being used to benefit other players, there was no mention of these items being used PVP / or to benefit of PVE. Please elaborate how this concept could be abused?

Regarding the boots and ring this has nothing to do with the opening suggestions in the post.

Finally I would like to add, $$$ does not always make a person happy, I feel that it is the thought or knowledge that some one is thinking about you is more important. It's the thought that counts. :)

    Hi Tigraine,
I am sure you are sincere. I appreciate that. You requested I elaborate how this could be abused. I don't believe I could satisfy your curiosity in one single post and this would quickly devolve into a debate. Let's just say that this request has been posted numerous times and it has never been implemented. That should clue you in that the developers also perceive the danger in this feature request. It's hard to add more here than has been stated by Traki. Here is an exercise everyone should do. Build an Excel table with rows for all of the major currencies in DSO: Anderment, Glyph, Crowns, Draken, Gold, Realm Fragments, etc. Make a column and row for each. Now for each intersection point, indicate which way the currency is able to convert: unidirectional, bidirectional, neither. Now that you have that, you can see the problem. If you still can't see the problem, then I can't help you. Oh, if you can sell 'it', then it is part of the economy. Even seemingly innocent items generally can be traded in at a vendor.

Thank you for your support Tegs and as you have said with lots of thread that has been coming out on this topic DSO would have implemented it already should have done a long time ago... still not bad they can do it in the future... adding features to the game will only make it better...

and the time limit or the limit for the number of times a player can send gifts per month is a fair enough bargain..
so i wish DSO would make it happen soon

    Thank you

hey Trakilaki i didnt talk about girls in common... im talking about my girl and i know her better and she never wanted costly things from me and it is always so hard for me to make her accept a gift that is too costly... its just i got so lucky for finding a girl that is so responsible...and for my girl these simple things are enough to see the love i have for her

why not read the post thoroughly b4 you give a reply? as i have told this system is only for non combative items like emotes and costumes and mounts which are not from pvp so you dont even have to mention those rings and boots from grimm... your reply is irrelevant in this place... so please from now on read fully b4 you reply... thank you so much

and guys id like remember once again that we are not talking abt items that could be equipped like armor or weapon items we only talking about items like emotes and costumes and pets and mounts and those are not from pvp... notice guys non combative items... so please give suggestion only on this topic
    Thank you

If an item can be gifted, BUT NOT then on sold (for ander, gold, draken etc) it can not be "exploited". If an item does not give HP, XP, Amour, travel speed where is he benefit to the player receiving it?

Frankly, I don't see what's wrong with gifting emotes or mounts. For example, what's the point of having two fairy wands when I could send one to my guapo or at least to my character on the other server.

Prakash1, honestly I wouldn't hold your breath with BP implementing a gifting option any time soon. I'm not into spending in this game (this would never change) but my confidant decided to load my account with andermant on my birthday. I appreciate his sentiments all as much so I guess if you're willing to put a little $ into her account, it would work for her too? To be honest, just farm like crazy with her in a group and hopefully she'll be lucky enough to find good drops with thanks to you. That would work just as well.
