Every now and then, and not uncommon, I end up in a map that gives me items that are a level or two higher than I am, thus I can't use. These items are completely "greyed" out, which mostly makes sense since you can't use them.

Enter the marketplace. Your trying to melt/sell items. Since Legendary, Unique, and Extraordinary items almost always get melted, or your trying to melt the highest melt items for the daily quest, it would be nice if you could tell by looking without pointing what the type of the item is.

Suggestion on this: Make the border color of greyed items be the same color as the normal background. So, around the greyed item would be a White/Green/Blue/Purple/Yellow/Gold border.
It would also be nice if you just greyed the background and left the item picture normal. It would make it much easier to tell what the item is.

On that note, what is the point of the usable items all having a yellow border? Why doesn't that border match the background? All the items except unique are the same.

I agree and second the proposal.
Fortunately, this problem becomes irrelevant once you reach the maximum level. ^^

Another, i.m.o. related, thing which I would still like to see is that not only the tier but also the current item level is shown on ALL items in the inventory, not only the equipped ones.

I've been playing since Sept 2015. You'll notice by my character pictures, I still don't have a character at level 50.
Essentially only playing Walakeli since 9/9: it took me from 9/17 to 10/1 to get from 41 to 42 and then from 10/1 to 10/15 to get to 44. Here it is 10/19 and I'm 45% of the way to 45 with little play time expected untill late next week. At the rate I'm going, I won't be level 50 till after Christmas.
