    Hi,

    I am now lvl 40.75 :p
I have read that the Temple Sector is a good place farming.

I can't seem to get anything that I can upgrade with, and trust me, my gear sucks (I get slaughtered by the normal mobs in events)!!

Am I doing something wrong or missing something?
I also heard people farming Gorga. I am assuming it is on hard? I tried several times on normal, and Gorga doesn't drop anything worth while (dropping greens)

I know that people say to group up and do PW but I can't even find a guild let alone people to help a lvl40.

    Please advise:
Am I doing something wrong ?
Gorga has to be farmed on hard to get anything worthwhile?

    thanks

Some pickup groups should give you the answer. You may have to start your own.
Check the XP you get on both Gorga and Gorga Hard. Group size and xp level may still make a difference. Gorga should be much easier than Gorga Hard, but the uniques may be different. It should be 4000-6000 xp per run, but that may have changed.
In any case, the key is the rate of xp you can earn over time. Go with the biggest bang you can earn. The faster Gorga goes down, the more likely you get better drops, but randomness is programmed in.
Most players think Gorga Hard is not worth the extra time and effort, unless you are looking for certain drops (check http://drakensangonline.wikia.com/).

    Good Hunting!

About 9 or 12 months ago (maybe longer) I leveled my steam mech up through the low 40s by simply running the temple outer loop, and basically just hit the mobs and red circle bosses. I got a ton of drops including quite abit of uniques, but the steam mech does have a drop talent that boosts normal monster drops.

    Hi Hawkslayer,

Sorry to inform you, but there are no more good places to farm (Map2 PW is the exception)!!!
Going through old threads is useless, because those posts are no longer valid.

Today...your best chance to get good gear is to do the events, ex: New/Full Moon, Dragan, etc...!!!
If you're too weak, you need to go with a group to do those events.
If you have a hard time finding a group during the events, you can always announce here and hope that someone answers to your call.

You might be doing it wrong on left-side items, perhaps what I used to do. Before, all my gear was with defensive enchantments, and I wondered why my damage was so low. Here's the deal: usually, left-side items should be offensive (damage, critical hit rate, critical damage). You can mingle with these, depending on what you find (for example, I had the luck to drop a headwear item with +49 damage on it; yes it is a right-side item, but I make up for it with my armor belt - a left-side item). Actually, it depends on your build and how you structure your character. Now, try to find such items and balance your character. As you've been suggested above, check the DSO Wiki for all the information on unique items, and take those into consideration as well (though don't go too crazy on them, they're not easy to get). There's a lot of options. Having too much armor isn't really good, if you're not able to dish out enough damage (I was weak up to lv42 because I barely had 300ish damage on my SW, and by balancing with offensive items, I almost doubled my damage at lv43... of course, I didn't retain all my defence, but it was a big improvement). Check the "show what you have" threads on the class-specific sections of the forum; it might also help. Good luck, and hope you'll find your way to greatness as soon as possible ;).

    Hawkslayer:
I can relate somewhat to your experience. Since lvl 40 or so, my legendary drops have diminished (maybe the randomness is balancing; prior to lvl 40, I was finding quite a few legendary items). Health elixir, and green and blue essence, however, have been abundant.

In regard to what people are saying about events, I agree you should do them. Keep in mind that 3 of the better events for gear (new moon, full moon, and desert of essences) are going to require realm frags, which temple sector will provide. Running temple wasn't something I did in exclusion of the events but rather was something I did to build up realm frags in addition to getting gear, anders and gems.

From my experience, after R139 was released, all extraordinary and legendary drops are less likely to drop in normal maps. All I get are whites to blues, which is a downgrade from pre-R139. Any PW will suffice, but yeah it's tough finding a group that will help you. I had the same issue for a while. Either keep asking for invites and/or check around for guilds that will take you in. Key is being persistent.

As a newer player I can attest to how hard it is to find good gear. As a DK, finding gear with armor, crit or hp is relatively easy but finding something with damage never seems to pop up. I've been luckiest in the past event, where I got 2 good legendary items and 1 exo sword that was somewhat worth keeping. To date, I've never seen a legendary 2h weapon, but I keep hoping.

My best map overall has been Atlantis above water, where I've gotten most of my current gear. It's not worth bragging about, but at least I've gotten some okay legendary items there. HOD is a great map for getting lots of blue and purple gear, but I haven't found anything worth keeping yet, so maybe that is more of an example of my luck than the map itself.

Finding groups isn't always easy, especially on Tegan, but anytime you see me online feel free to message me. I'm happy to die along with you on any regular map. I'm no help in pw or events when it comes to the bosses yet so I won't be of much help there, I would probably make it worse.

Thank you for all the suggestions.

Its a catch 22. Can't properly balance if you can't find any thing that is useful to balance with.

Guess I just gotta keep trying and focus on events.

SirSquishy, thanks for the offer, hopefully we can hook up sometime :p

Yep, can't do pw without good gear, yet all the good gear is supposed to be in the pw. Looking at the various set stats from event gear that would help, but the events that make the most difference don't come around very often, so again it's a catch 22. On top of that, if you do get good gear early, it won't make much of a difference at lvl45. You'll have to get "lucky" and get them all over again or farm for millions of gop to upgrade.

So far I've been lucky in finding enough gear to take a little bit of a beating, but I don't have enough dmg, even 2 handed to kill very quickly. If I find a good weapon, I might just be able to solo the harder maps without using blue or purple ess.

Maybe that's why they charge so much for crafting. It forces us to farm more before moving on to the harder maps.

Remember, it is easier to find a better Extraordinary sword than a good Legendary one. A very good Extraordinary sword can be way better than a bad Legendary sword.
So, since we are still in the early stages, it is smarter to try to find a high quality extraordinary sword than trying to find a good legendary one. If you happen to find a good legendary sword, then you are lucky, but otherwise...

Think of an extraordinary 2H sword that can have 1 damage line around 100 or more at level 50, and two damage increase lines combined for more than 100%. Or even a blue sword with one damage line 100+ and a damage increase line about 70% is excellent than a bad legendary sword and the good thing is it is very cheap to upgrade a blue sword, so you can upgrade it to level 45 or even 46 and that will rival most legendary swords that you find below level 40.

In addition to this, you can easily open all slots of a blue sword ;)

Same goes for a blue shield. 2 lines of 50%+ and upgrade to level 45, you will be well protected.

Yes, ive been opening all my extraordinay shield and weapon drops to see if a near perfect extraordinary pops up. Would love a 2-1 shield with near perfect lines to replace my middling 2-1-armor legendary shield (77% rate, 40% reduce, +180ish armor, originally level 43 now level 47). And a near perfect extraordinary 2H sword would allow me to tank mortis a lot more essence cheaply....
