Fruitcakes - Tasty Treat or Spawn of Satan.
Nobody I have ever known in my life eats those horrible things. My dogs will not eat fruitcake and that is saying something. You see all those hilarious photos of kids sitting on Santa's lap screaming and crying, but what you don't see is the parent holding a crumbling slice of fruitcake for them as a reward for posing for Santa. Kids love Santa, kids hate fruitcake.
I think fruitcake aversion is built into normal human DNA. A monkey will eat fruitcake and then happily fling it's fruitcake laced poo at anything or anyone close enough to be a target, but that just shows the DNA difference between humans and apes. Well, there may be poo flinging humans too but I have yet to meet one nor would I ever want to meet one..... :/
I think fruitcakes were designed and built by evil horrible people who hated their family, friends and neighbors secretly, so they concocted them to give as "gifts".
All I know is that for years, every fruitcake that was ever gifted to my family was never eaten, but placed into the bin after the gifter was not around.
Never gift fruitcake, it only shows how little regard you have for your giftee.

Right back at you Callisto and all the other forum members. The winter holiday season is, among other things, a time for family. Even though we are somewhat of an odd dysfunctional family I still feel we are.
