Has anyone else noticed....

I haven't seen any official thread or announcement about it but uhm....have they fixed the position bug?

I haven't encountered it for about a week now. And yes, I do hope it's just me this time LOL

 

Nope, I'm still getting hit with the position bug on every one of my characters (all on Agathon, so if they've got a test hotfix on one of the other servers, I wouldn't see it).

 

Yeah, I'm on Agathon as well. Maybe I just got lucky this past week or so. Thanks VMmage for the input

 

It doesn't seem as bad or as often, but sometimes there are still short, quick, little snap backs in position. It still seems a factor of server load to me.
Generally it is tolerable for me, but some team-mates can't handle it and leave the game. Some places or equipment probably don't have it as good.

 

hhahaha my guyis here, oh no hes over there , kool ill keep fighting with my group, oh no wait hes now gliche over here, oh gliche back there, oh wait still gliching, there ill continue oh man still gliching, ok it stopped , continue, oh the screen just flickered , now i am running into a wall like on a treadmill, the gliche has stopped , continue,...thats how it goes, i hate it...too much of the character shifting back and forth all over , its really bad, im not the only one, that doesnt mean it is ok as i am trying to get back to group, im now mad a it, crushing mouse in hand and about to smash my compooter,, hahahaha when in event it really bothers me yes, causes shifting on map, the shot is far to the side of my char completly missing the monster causing death , then i need spend more on therealm pass to get back, if that happens then im really pissed paying twice the realms for a bad glichy bunch of c rap.!!l...lots tell me that too, other buds have to leave PvP, it affects that as well...ive lost ander paying to come back too. it really isnt kool as that stuff is farmed .. took time for the gamne to rip it off immediately not kool.....!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I don't know for you guys ... but for me "position bug" is fixed long time ago on all my characters.
Maybe it is an server related issue.

 

Nope, I sometimes get the bug...not like some have reported it, where they constantly get the position bug.
Some times it happens on Grimmag or Heredur server, but for me it's every 3th or 5th day and not more than...maybe 20mins.

 

If you are having positional lag issues. Check your video settings. If the settings are all in the "on" position ... turn some of the settings, from "on" to "off", like blood effect or shadows, you may quit experiencing the lag ... It may or may not help, it did for me personally ... This information is not for you level 45, hard core gamers but the new people that just might not know any better ...

 

I run on the lowest graphics settings all the time. The blatant "position bug" is gone for me, but when I get surrounded by mobs (happens a lot as a DK) I get a ping-pong effect. It's hard to click on a particular target, because I'm constantly bouncing a little bit - 1/4"-1/2" on the screen - so I just thrash about until they're all dead. I would report this, but reporting things doesn't seem to do much good. I think they already know what's happening, it just takes them a really long time to fix things (compared to other games I play).

 

BP is stingy ... they don't want to employ developers. I believe DSO dev team are few people in number ... and it is really hard to do all the things with that small team. That is my opinion.

 

SO, from what I gathered, for some, the bug is fixed totally. For some it's fixed, but has another sorta bug. And for some it's not fixed.

So would y'all say that it's probably a server issue than? Cause I know the server I play on (and a few that post on here) don't have problems with anymore. The thing that's kinda throwing me off is Multi-Sev and his weird bug lol. It's probably just him

I really don't think it's a "settings" issue Plunderpigge.

 

I'm not sure what it is. It's just a little annoying, not as annoying as the full-fledged position bug was. I'm pretty sure it's not my connection, as I'm on a 6 mbps pipe that has always scored rock-solid numbers on upload/download testing.

I'm not sure if other people would necessarily notice it. Likely players to notice it would be DKs that like to stay completely surrounded by mobs. It just looks like "jitters", sort of.

 

For me, the positionbug is completely gone.
BUT, it have been replaced by an issue that stops me from preloading, and since the change, i have had INSANE lags. Im talking about both insane lags once in a while, and every time there comes a lot of effects and monsters for the system to calculate(like full group in Q3 surrounded by lots of monsters), my FPS suddenly drops to nothing and i can´t see a thing. It have killed me a couple of times in Q3 on 2H, where i normally never die with that setup.

Maybe i should write to support... well, they have never been usefull when i asked for help with a bug or technical issue.

And about the preload-bug, i have tried deleting temp-files, uninstalling client and flushing DNS, but nohting helps. It´s at about 170mb it goes wrong, others have it too.


BTW, the FPS problem is not just my PC that is running slow, the friends im playing with have exactly the same problem.

 

It is fixed. Everything back to the way it was. You guise just didn't notice all the little jumping around the toons always did

 

thx to all the info..i have adjusted all my settings yes. the blood effects as well in game settings. I have a very nice computer and the wi fi is good, yet I still have the position thing once in a while..my guy does the moonwalk anak said in RCC,, ,very funny yet it is really a pain when it does it in events or you get dc in events..i hate that it affects other players and me when that is on..

 

Wi-Fi sucks for online gaming.
Ethernet (cable):

• less expensive
• more reliable
• much quicker than the best Wi-Fi today

Yesterday I set my Wi-Fi's name to "Hack this if you can".

If you have to do wi-fi gaming, it works best if you have a dual band router and you can game on your 5ghz band.

I will play pve on my 5ghz band, but prefer ethernet for pvp. I can tell the difference in play.

I won't play on the 2.4ghz band.

 

It is not just the router ... computer's wireless network card have a big impact too.

 

That too. But if you have a very nice computer as the poster mentioned and that adapter that can handle the 5 ghz band, that part is probably taken care of.

 

I have no choice right now , I have to use Wi Fi..we all know plugged right in is best...when I play and bring my high end lap top to my buds, he has extra ethernet cables, i plug my crap into that ,, log on...play the game, and its like someone just put in extar damage and all, its like Zolmy rips through wiping all out..but not when im hom eon borrowed office Wi Fi..before you go saying what we all know..you should have some understanding to what is going on in ppls lives, and why they cant afford the Plugged right in beautiful fast internet, it all should be thes ame for every one. i hate the world making communication tools different levels and different countries charge for communicating, who on the planet thought of that, stupid, money hungry grubbers, we all should have same, i feel all on the planet deserve that...
