help with creating a tank ranger

hi guys it's my first day on dso and after a bit of research i concluded i would like to create a ranger who can also tank after my initial research i have concluded that i would have to equip shortbow and shield what i am confused about those 3 skill trees tell me how to choose and what to choose and what is the fine prints.thanks in advance

 

well, ill suggest mine tree. personally, I use shortbow - predator (it has big speed and pretty good damage). then, if you want to tank, then you'll definitely need the shield. best stats are: 3xblock rate % 1x blocked dmg % (mine now is 2x rate 1x blocked dmg 1x health ). that's about equipment.

about skill trees. in the level skill tree you must select skill that gives you more dmg with shortbow. if you're higher level already, then you should definitely choose the skill that gives more damage with deadly blow (that second attack with the bow if you play not in English). then, select skill with adrenaline that it wont reduce your damage anymore.

in knowledge tree, you don't have any other options

in pvp tree, it depends on which type of pvp you play the most. but the most important skills are that you are immune for 4 seconds after you've been stunned and deactivating stuns with adrenaline and jump.

and finally about inventory. I suggest you getting as more uniques as possible. and of course dark set. especially helmet. AND most important thing: yachack set. it gives you fair amount of health.

And don't forget about gems. try to get as many as possible damage, attack speed, resistance, health and maybe armor gems. the bigger resistance and armor you have, the less amount of damage you get.

From what I can see, that is pretty normal suggestion for any ranger (like duh, predator is most ranger's dream). If you want a pure tank ranger, a good option would be yachak's set as yamahamm has mentioned. Dark set might be hard to get for some people, especially if you really want a good character with dark you must have some fairly good hp gems (polished bare minimum, radiant to start to do well.) A viable option especially for PVEers is getting ammon's set. Finally, if you really want to change more dmg for tankyness, get 1 or even 2 ROLs (ring of life, 1st quest of ammon)
If you are more of a PVEer, I suggestion the skill that marks all enemies with net, the skill that does 100% dmg with trap, and the final skill for path of destruction (thicket of thorns talent).
