    Okay,

    Stats when using swords below.

    lvl 45 SW
    base damage: 877-1246
    crit hit rate: 2.5k (56%)
    crit dmg: 380%
    Fame: 37

Some people say I use red ess but I want to prove them that I don't need that to 1 or 2 hit them.

    base fireball: 110% base dmg

    I use the fireball experience:
    +25% dmg
+33% of base dmg per second x3

I use the following fame talent:
Battle instinct: amount of damage +15%
Better combat techniques: damage inflicted by fireball +10%
battle frenzy: after a kill +25% dmg for 6.0 seconds

Lets say I am fighting another lvl 45 with same fame 37, how much is the max i can hit with fireball?

    Thank you

Depends on their resistance. Lets say 30% resistance is average for level 45s.
Your fireball would do approximately 185% of base damage. And 380% of that with crit.

    (877*1.85)*3.8= 6165 damage * (1-0.3)= 4316 damage.
    (1246*1.85)*3.8= 8759 damage *(1-0.3)= 6132 damage.

You would hit ~ between 4316-6132... with crit.

I have to go now, but I may come back later and calculate average damage counting critical rate.

    Average Damage:
    (877*1.85)*(3.8*.56)= 3453 damage * (1-0.3)= 2417 damage.
    (1246*1.85)*(3.8*.56)= 4905 damage *(1-0.3)= 3434 damage.
And that makes your overall DPS 2926. If you want to increase that, the best way is to increase critical hit rate.

No sir nothing from atlantis, I will post picture of items when I learn how to do so, and 380% is correct.

Upload to imgur, get the BBCode in the item info, on imgur. Paste the BBCode here and it will show as a picture.

Sounds like dimensional rift staff + witch chaser set :)
witch chaser of course doesn't give any crit dmg but just saying that wide base damage = witch chaser set :)

Can you post a picture with your items? I'm curios to see this build, i know that you are using sargon's focus, but the rest of stats.. How are you surviving?

    Here is my 5v5 setup:

I use 20% speed talent +3% from cloak + pink boots 20% speed enchant: 43% speed

    And yes, I survive.

A good example of a mage :) Super offense and avoiding hits instead of building up defense.

    P.S: I see BOOBB. :p

Infamous's calculation is without accounting for opponent's defense or resist. If they have 30% resist value, just shave of 30% of that dmg. If they have -15% dmg for pvp, then decrease the dmg once again. Also, it doesn't account for opponent's block. Basically, it is calculation without defense so you won't actually hit that high.

By putting a DK like me in front of him... :D. I actually love running with him because with my damage as a 2H DK and his crazy damage, most things die and quickly.

I have already done that. Note (1-.3) means 70% of the damage, as 30% was reduced by Resistance.

As for the decreased damage by Fame level, I made a mistake. If damage is increased by 37% and THEN reduced by 37% it is actually quite a bit less than if it weren't changed at all... but I was unsure whether the reduction occurs after or at the same time as the increase.
If it occurred at the same time, they would just cancel out and it would remain the same. (which is what I assumed)

However, if the decrease happens after the damage increase:

    Min. (4316 * 1.37) * (1 - .37) = 3725 damage
    Max. (6132 * 1.37) * (1 - .37) = 5293 damage
(It is 37% because his Fame level is 37)

I bet there is an easier way to do the math (looks like conjugates) but I have not learned it. Feel free to school me. I know there are a lot of math buffs in here, calculating curves of stats and DPS and stuff.

    37 Fame (1+.37)*(1-.37) = 1 -.37 +.37 -.1369 = .8631 is the factor
I did some more math(what I could) after this because I was bored but it seemed out of place so I deleted. I couldn't come to a conclusion before I got bored of it as well, so I just stopped trying. However I did find this: 1- (n/100)^2 in which n is the Fame level, to determine damage output factor against a same leveled opponent, and it decreases constantly with each level increase(of both subjects). It struck me as odd because, if we are to ever reach 100 Fame, we will do 0 damage against each other. Unless, of course, I missed something. I already have in mind something I could have missed but I don't have the time nor patience to look into it. Math buffs, come to the rescue, please!

Your math seems ok, but you didn't use the armor reduction. Fireball is 50% fire 50% physical. Btw i don't know when the damage bonus/reduction applies so i'll assume the max damage case you calculated:
    8759 * 0,5 * 0,7 + 8759 *0,5*0,5 = 5255
    with 50% armor

And, looking at the images above, the damage of the items doesn't fit with the damage of the character o_O

Opps, missed the first line, sorry. I'm lazy to do the math as well. Well first up, 30% resist is a bit low for stronger players. Secondly, as you mentioned before and Silentmist just mentioned, fireball seems to be part physical part resistance attack. Don't know the % but this might be true. I still haven't gotten any confirmation from admins.

Yeah, again, I assumed it was just elemental since it doesn't say otherwise in the skill description. I believe someone calculated or tried to calculated the percentages of elemental and physical components of the fireball, but I can't know for sure.

My resistance is below 30% and most people seem to have 1k which is around 30% I think, so I figured that was the average. Sure, there are those with 2k but lets not count the extremes.

Also, the 'higher ups' don't like giving any sort of information about the game, so I doubt we will get the percentages... unless we go and figure out for ourselves.

If anyone on Agathon wants to do that, let me know and we can start testing it.

Damage % calculated more or less 1 year ago were:
meteor - 50% physical 50% fire (dot only fire)
    destruction - 100% physical
    singularity - 100% physical
    lightning strike- 100% lightning
    chain lightning - 100% lightning
fireball - 50% fire 50% physical (dot only fire)
    magic missile - 100% physical
    ice missile - 50% physical 50% ice
    frost nova - 50% ice -50% physical

    For Ranger
    precision shot - 75% physical 25% fire

    other skills were only physical

Ok, so, according to what you guys said:

    (6165 * .5 * .7) + (6165 * .5 * .5) = 3699 damage
    (8759 * .5 * .7) + (8759 * .5 * .5) = 5255 damage

which at level 37 Fame becomes... 3193-4536 damage
    Min. 3699 * .8631 = 3193
    Max. 5255 * .8631 = 4536
