How to kill a ranger (non class is OP edition)

Hi all, the most enjoyable class to play, hopefully one not being nerfed. I will start with a disclaimer, this post is not meant to claim someone is OP, immortal etc so please comment constructively and wisely. Mages and Archers are welcome to comment.

My only question is how to kill the end game ranger, from the 'top' league, whatever it means. I'm talking about lvl49 gear, with lots of sacred/royal gems, low level bugged items, speed gems etc. A real pros.

I'm not at that level as a mage, but somewhat close. As a matter of fact, I, personally, have zero issues with other classes. I can kill every singe DK on the server I saw, including all the grandmarshals, all the youtube stars etc. I'm not saying I smash them 10-0, some of them beat me overall, but this is always a tough fight for them, and they will die a lot too.

I have not ever met a dwarf that was able to cause me any issues.

Few words about my build. I have all possible sets of course with excavation of kings armor and witch huner, but use primarily witch chaser set with maximum stats, all items 49 lvl. I also use 1 ring of death. Other items are just very good legendaries, all at lvl 49 except wand and cloak.
Dmg: 1500+ max at 2.39 speed, 1600+max at 2.11 speed, crit dmg: 270% with riddle, 230 with ball, crit rate 48%. Much better with books, obviously.
HP almost 6.8k, armor 3.2k, resist 1.2k.

I'm somewhat a glass cannon. And I have 24% speed bonus from my boots and 3 gems.

So my strategy with DKs is simple, attack is my defence. Play on chain+ice+lighting strike (improved). They just can't reach me unless they have their 'aura', whatever it called.

My CTF setup is similar, but with a mix of chain lighting and fireballs, without 33% after the hit, however. I'm taking the 1st place in all the matches constantly, 2nd the worse.

But, I know tons of archers that kill me constantly. And I mean they smash me, in seconds, not just kill. Even those that I know a beaten by the DKs I smash. Such a story.

I came up with the idea, that damage as defence will not work against rangers. As they will burst and run to refill their energy, and I'm just like a paper, if I stay and cast chain, fire, ice, missile etc. They have enough HP/Armor to hold that DPS but I don't have enough to hold their burst.

So I should be mobile, and more defence focused. I have tried using the Less Damage from Opponents talent, and it kind of works, but with the same final result, it just takes a bit longer. Not in 2-3 waves of attacks, but in 4 or 5 I'm dead.

So defence, being mobile. So I get the dragan set, change the riddle by 49 lvl ball, and my armor goes up, so does the block rate and %. I'm not longer a damage machine, but hit&runner, similar to an archer, as he is also in dragan. And I'm kind of playing his game with him, burst and run. The issue is, they still win, as they are better in burst. And hey have more armor and hp.

I have tried using light against rangers, it is a joke. It only works against complete noobies.

What I'm missing?
What is the best setup to fight rangers? What sets, what uniques?
What are the best talents/skills?
What is the best strategy.

I know it will all change in 2 weeks, but would appreciate constructive feedback which would still be helpful later.

Edit: forgot to mention that I have one of the rings full of diamonds, and a clone of that ring, almost, full of armor gems which I use when fighting archers or tanks.

Another thing to mention is that I hate to use dragan set, as it is useless for both PVE and 5v5/6v6. And I try to balance between PVE and PVP and not to change gems all the time. If dragan set would be the only way to fight dragan equipped archers, it would be really sad. Archers seem to be fine with dragan for 5v5, so require less gem changing.
