    Hey all,
Most of you probably have no clue who I am because of this game's high turnover rate. I was a member and officer in some of the premier PvP and PvE Agathon guilds about 2 years to a year ago. I had been getting super frustrated with the game as a f2p account, with mindnumbing grinding being the only option for leveling up once the 45+ expansion was released.

I quit cold turkey, giving up hundreds of hours, and many good friends. But since it was the first RPG that I really immersed myself in and spent time in, so I'm wondering what's happened since then. I've looked through a fair amount of patch notes and forums posts and not much seems to be going on besides events in terms of new material.

It seems to me as if DSO is dying, at least from a development standpoint, and since there is no way in heck that I'm going to log onto the game, I was wondering if you guys could tell me if the game actually has a future/do people still play/what's it like?

I have plenty of fond memories playing with old guildmates and PvP greats (I'm still friends with 8 of the top 10 PvPers on Agathon) and Teamspeaking with plenty of friends, but I also have bad memories of the game gradually being ruined by developers solely chasing money and not trying to produce a fun game.

Thanks in advance for the replies (assuming there are any),
    Them, 41 DK Agathon.

    Hey Them:

I remember you (of course). I will try to give a general answer to the part of your post I cherry-picked. I would use the word "stagnant" on the development front. I may change that to "dying" in a few months if they don't show some initiative in fixing the most troublesome bugs and adding new content... and stop creating nearly useless micro-"features" that no experienced player needs or wants.

I'm sure others will comment on your post.

    Take care and be well,

    Sevasten

Hey Them, I remember you also. And in saying that I mean I seen you on my screen several times. Don't think I actually chatted with you before.

But yes, you are correct in assuming that the DSO squad is letting a great game go to crap. The only events we have to look forward to now are the dumb arse Moon events. And they're garbage now. Way over abused and to consistent.

They have a twitch feed on DSO on Facebook and tease players with quests that don't start for a long time. Or talk about "how we listen to the players" but nothing gets done or solved or fixed. Sooooooo yeah, it's going to hell in a handbasket :p

Well, if you consider start playing again, don´t.
We have a couple of Dev´s who don´t know where they are going with this game, and some CM´s who don´t know the game at all.

The more i learn about BP the more sad i get about the situation...

I endorse the above two statements 100%. I think most veterans of this game do also. And the saddest part is that the devs and CMs just don't seem to care. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems like BP made its money on this game and is just going to let it slowly wither away while paying lip service to development, bug fixing and improvements.

Yeah, since you have stopped playing I wouldn't come back now. The place has gotten progressively more run down since you moved away. Check back in three or four months: maybe a neighborhood bank will provide a loan to fix up all the dilapidated houses. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I wouldn't until they started fixing this stuff. Me and about 15 others are canceling our premium until it happens. That should put a dent in the wallet and MAYBE make them understand it's really about us (the players) and not about profits. There are probably 10s of thousands of MMORPG games that cater to the consumers.
